Chapter 5 - Desert Base!

Gan had made up a story about a middle-aged man who sold him the ring. He simply described the man as having a full beard who was wearing a blue suit.

"This ring, I can truly feel something going on in my body. It's like a tingling sensation in my sides and stomach." The feeling was relaxing and comfortable, it was like a gentle massage.

"That's a sign that it's working, soon you will be healed. You just have to spend a bit more time in here. I'll try to bring something in next time that may be able to entertain you."

Gan knew this was going to be a hard one, but he might be able to figure something out.

"Ahem! You know, I always wanted to touch a bald head...do you mind if I...you know..." Gan grinned as he stared at Aria's head, which was covered with a cap.

"What?" Aria's cheeks turned rosy red from embarrassment, he wanted to rub her bald head.

"Haha, I was joking. Though that head of yours looks so smooth. Like a milk dud," Gan started laughing hard, but he wanted to see her expression.

Honestly, he wanted to rub that smooth-looking head.

"You play too much. What milk-dud? You have a milk-dud head!" Aria slapped Gan's arm playfully.

"It's so boring here; the food is plain. I can't play any sports because I'm crippled, and I can't play video games because this place wont allow me to play games on their televisions."

Aria mentioned that she wanted to play video games. Particularly, Minecraft, but the hospital didn't allow it. She could, however, play some app games, but that got boring quickly.

"You shouldn't constantly speak and think negatively all the time. This way of thinking will only advance your health issues."

Gan seemed to have thought of something, but this solution was something he had to test.

"You're right, sorry." Aria took a deep breath, it was best for her to focus on healing.

"That ring I gave you, that middle-aged man from before sells some fairly interesting things. I'll buy something from him that can provide entertainment for you."

"If this ring is really capable of healing all forms of cancer, then he must have some really good things. What if he had an artifact that could give someone superpowers or something?"

Aria's eyes brightened as she could maybe become a superhero. This was her greatest dream, but getting superpowers was pretty much impossible.

"... ..."

"Haha! I was just ranting, something like that wouldn't be possible." Gan listened, but he knew she wasn't merely ranting.

"I don't know about getting superpowers or whatever, but I think the middle-aged man is capable of some crazy feats."

Gan eventually changed the subject, which ultimately led to her asking what school he was enrolling in. He told her that it was Midtown High School and that he was going to be living with his grandparents in Queens.

"You want to meet up with old friends from our neighborhood back then. Most of my friends, except you, have abandoned me, but I never met most of those other friends before I moved."

Aria knew that those 'friends' believed she was a hopeless person already. She had never met people like Peter Parker and Harry Osborn.

Beside, to the friends that abondoned her; she was crippled and had cancer. This type of friend would provide no benefits.

"Of course, I haven't been here in years, so it's best to reconnect with some old friends." Gan and Aria chatted for about two hours, but by then, he had dropped the soundproof barrier he had covered the room with.

They talked about the old days, Gan even brought up that she was a snot-nosed, clingy brat. This, of course, made them both laugh, but Aria said that this might not have changed after so many years.

However, Gan's maturity age was beyond hers; after all, he wasn't actually fifteen years old. Currently, they were both the same age on the surface.

"Make sure you come and visit me next week. Don't forget!" Aria held Gan's hand and said seriously.

"Of course, I'll visit every week on the same day." Gan would not forget; his biggest worry had been resolved. He made sure to imbue her with his Narrative ability, which would block anyone from reading or tampering with her mind, or Cosmic Beings detecting her.

"Okay." Gan smiled before exiting the room.

Arthur watched from the door and said to Gan. "Thanks for all of this; Gan, thank you for coming to visit Aria in her darkest hours." Arthur was truly grateful that Gan was coming weekly, and didn't give up on her.

Gan knew he was sincere from his expression alone, but his thoughts were even more assuring.

"She's a friend, I would never give up on friends." Gan nodded.

"Glad to hear that. Her condition isn't..."

"I know, you don't have to tell me. I'm confident that she will recover from her condition." Gan interrupted Arthur, this was something he didn't want to hear.

"Alright, I'll see you next week." Arthur sighed before going back into the room.

"How was it? Did you enjoy your time with your friend?" Gary patted Gan on the back and asked with a worried smile. He already received news about Aria's condition from Arthur, whom he didn't hide it from.

"It was good, she was really happy, which is the most important thing." Both exited the hospital before heading home.

Gan wanted to go home and study his abilities a bit more. He was sure that Aria would heal from her troublesome illness. They made a quick stop at a gas station since the rental car was running low on gas.

Afterward, they arrived before Gan made a quick beeline to his room.

"Damn...he went straight to his room without talking about it." Irelia was stunned. Gan was moving so fast that she could barely see him.

'What kinda speed is that?!' Irelia was truly taken aback.

"It's not good, not good at all." Gary's expression didn't look so good. "I'll talk to you about it later; now is not the time."

"Sounds good to me. Oh, you're brothers are coming over, they're also bringing their kids to visit." Irelia was in the middle of making some food for the visitors soon to be.

"Oh, that's fine. I haven't really seen them that much since I moved to Michigan back then. Though it would be nice if they told me when they were coming to visit." Gary stretched and headed into the front room to watch television.

"Wait! Have you heard? The news is constantly talking about that strange phenomenon from yesterday. Not even the Avengers could figure out what the cause was."

"I've heard about that, but I was watching television in my room at the time. I didn't see the phenomenon. All I know is that the day cycles kept switching back and forth. Don't worry, nothing will happen."

"I hope not, that phenomenon was too weird," Irelia said with worry.

...

Gan locked the door behind him and began experimenting right away. His power to control matter allowed him to create just about anything with his imagination.

"I've already gotten the hang of this ability, it would usually take a lot of concentration to use. This was especially demanding when used in combat. However, I have the abilities of the Mind Stone, so my focus and concentration have been pushed to the extreme."

Gan wanted to collect the last three Infinity Stones, but that was impossible for now.

"Hmm, it's not impossible. I can just collect chat group points and rent some Infinity Stones from the Chatgroup marketplace." Unfortunately, renting Infinity Stones would cost an astronomical amount of Chatgroup points.

"Wait a minute, can I use my Reality Altering abilities to create items? I can create a store and sell the items to the chat group members."

The chat group Marketplace only sold or rented items to him related to Marvel. That was the limitation of the chat group Marketplace.

Gan opened the chat room and saw many people chatting as usual. He quickly sent a private message to Infinite Darkness. This guy was from the same entry group as him, so see if he could help him.

-Cosmic King(26): Hey, Infinite Darkness, you're in the Walking Dead world, right? Do you have access to weapons to defend yourself?- (💬)

-Infinite Darkness(28): No, I am underage, so I can't purchase firearms. My parent also hate guns, so I have no access to any weapons. I can, however, purchase some weapons from the marketplace, but they're so expensive.- (💬)

-Cosmic King(26): What special ability do you have that will allow you to survive in such a world?- (💬)

There was a moment of silence before he replied.

-Infinite Darkness(28): My special ability is a Pocket Dimension, but it's special. I can have a large water fountain that I poured a bottle of purified water into. After I did that, that bottle of water suddenly turned into a large fountain of purified water.

This water cleanses and purifies itself at all times. I aspire to cultivate large areas of crops and acquire livestock, yet I currently lack the real-life funds to do so. I do not have access to firearms or animals, and I also do not possess any vehicles. Fortunately, my sign-in gives me 1,000 to 1,500 points per sign-in.- (💬)

Gan looked at Infinite Darkness' rant and was a bit speechless.

-Cosmic King(26): I'm going to test something and see if I can help you.-

Gan exited the chat room before standing up. He waved his hand, and a wormhole appeared; thus, Gan walked through it.

Gan went invisible before going through this wormhole to prevent others from seeing him. He arrived in the Sahara Desert, where he wanted to do some testing. He decided to create an underground base in the middle of this desert.

"Let's go!" Gan raised his hand, and reality itself began to shift.

He quickly began manipulating matter, as titanium walls and beams formed as support. In minutes, a large base formed under the sands, fitted with air conditioners, a mess hall, sleeping quarters, a training room, a vault, and a special room for Gan's creations.

"The interior is well decorated, I can't have some random basic base. It needs to look lavish and lush to give that sense of comfort."

Gan teleported within the base and activated the air conditioner before heading to his special room. This room was massive, it was 109.7 meters in length and 50 meters in width.

"I've been planning this since yesterday, I didn't know it would go so well. Aria mentioned Minecraft, I should be able to generate Minecraft things." Matter shifted and form, and an egg the size of an American football appeared in his hand.

This egg had the very same patterns as a cow. If you guessed correctly, this was a Minecraft mob spawner egg.

"Hahaha! This is friggin wild! It's actually a Minecraft cow egg!" Of course, when creating something, Gan would need to add functions to it during the creation process. Even though he expected this, Gan was still amazed at the extent of this power.

"Let's see..." Gan tossed the egg on the ground, and sure enough, a fully grown cow emerged from it almost out of nowhere.

"Mooo~!" The cow gave a cry, but it didn't see anything it could graze on. Instead, it turned to Gan, hoping he would feed her.

"This is too amazing, absolutely crazy!" Gan almost started dancing with joy, this was too unprecedented. "Hmm, but can something like this be sold in the group chat market?"

"What the hell?! Aye! Don't take a s**t on my floor!" Gan quickly erased the cow and removed the waste and smell from the room.

"Goodness!" Gan was speechless at this cow's behavior.

"The Infinity Stones cost two million each to rent for an hour, which is more than enough time for me."

Gan began creating a store. Other chat members created stores and were selling items. The thing about the chat group marketplace was; you couldn't sell live entities.

"Let's sell it for 400 points, there are other apocalypse world inhabitants here." Gan set the price before being asked to add the item to his store.

"Now, for the moment of truth." Gan placed the cow spawn egg into the virtual interface.

"It worked!"

Once the item was placed into the interface, he smiled and checked. The item had a grade next to it with the description below.

------

Name: Cow Egg

Rank: White / Common ⚪

Description: This Cow Egg was created by unknown means. Once tossed to the ground, a fully-grown Cow will spawn.

"Haha, I shall place more Cow Eggs up for sale." Gan placed 50 Cow Eggs on the market.

He also placed Chickens, Bulls, Pigs, Ducks, Rabbits, and Fish up for sale. Gan also added other items to his store. His store was only a level one market, so he could only sell up to ten items max.

After an hour, Gan had filled his store to the limit.

-Chicken: 200 Points / Stock 50| Bull: 600 Points / Stock 50| Pig: 300 Points / Stock 50| Duck: 200 Points / Stock 50| Rabbit: 200 Points / Stock 50| Fish: 100 Points / Stock 50|

Gan looked at his store with satisfaction. That restoration Elixir was his most expensive Elixir because of what it could do.
