The brunet man gave a provisional look at the cave; it was spacious but not very much. Shifting his eyes to the ground, he saw that there was a thin layer of that blue sand. It was luminescent, like the ground in general that he had seen since he was in that world. Camelia was silent again. "Did you see something that troubles you? Something in your future?" he asked her.
She shook her head. "I can't read my own future directly, unlike how I do with others."
"Why?"
The blonde inhaled and let out an almost serene breath, then sat on the ground, leaning against the wall. "It's always been like this, in my whole family."
Egan sat next to her, trying not to touch her though. "I find it unfair."
"This limit has a meaning. If we could read our own future continuously, it would be a nightmare. At least for me," she absentmindedly took his hand. A shiver ran down her spine. "The greatest anguish for a seer is seeing the future without being able to change it. Because I can't always change the adverse fate of those who come into contact with me."
"It's not up to you to change others' future, after you've warned them, the choice to make next is solely theirs," Egan squeezed her hand.
Camelia pulled that hand to herself; it was sturdy but at the same time well cared for. She turned it over in her fingers and opened his palm. Blushing, she tried to control her emotions but it was completely useless, they had an autonomous force that she couldn't manage. And those glimpses of a few seconds, showing her images of them together, even if she tried to close her mind not to see them, were very powerful. This is unfair. That only I can see them and suffer the effect… Camelia closed her eyes and it got worse. She let go of Egan's hand and tried to distance herself.
"What's happening, Camelia?" Egan didn't allow her to move away.
"This waiting oppresses me," she lied. "Nerea and Mirla found us this place, but now? Why wait for the night?"
"I don't know, maybe because it can better disguise our escape?"
Camelia pointed out that, in that place, day and night weren't very different from each other. "Maybe, Mirla has her own plan, but I don't feel at all comfortable waiting hidden here."
"Neither do I, but I don't know what else to do. I'm not familiar with underground worlds that have blue sand, talking animals that transform, and a demon as king," and he tried to joke about it. His stomach growled at that moment. The magic that suppressed physiological needs no longer worked outside the prison. "Are there fast-food in this world?" he continued to say.
Camelia felt herself being embraced. It had been a long time since she had felt the warmth of an authentic contact. After spending decades in the absence of that affection, now that those arms surrounded her, she realized she never wanted to part from them again. The dismay and loneliness that had accompanied her for so long seemed to vanish suddenly. Abandoning herself to that sensation, she tilted her head and her cheek brushed against Egan's, which pinched just a little, due to the regrowth of his beard. With the delicate touch of two fingers, Egan lifted the blonde's chin and then their lips brushed. Attracted to each other by a burst of indecipherable energy that passed through them from head to toe, and silenced even Camelia's crowded mind.
"Damn…" escaped from Egan's lips when the barely palpable kiss, like a caress, ended and he shivered because of the energy he had perceived. "Amidiun?"
Camelia, redder than she had ever been, nodded. "It's so strong it terrifies me."
Egan's chest rose and fell rhythmically with each breath, and the panting extinguished any attempt to add words to that moment. His excitement was becoming very evident. Camelia licked her lips, savoring that kiss again that seemed not to have left her mouth yet. Amidiun was something she had only dreamed of as a girl, after listening to her grandmother's stories; she had no idea how the connection between two souls destined to be together would reveal itself. She could read the same sweet fear in Egan's gray eyes, the same transport and the same fiery desire. She wanted his hands to touch her, to hold her even more. She longed to become one with him, until the seal gave definitive proof that the two of them were each other's amidiun.
Her hand brushed against the bulge of his pants and she felt him jump. The amber eyes locked onto the gray ones, hesitant and exasperated at the same time. "Egan, if…" Camelia's voice was just a whisper but, he felt it enter his chest and the heartbeat responded by going even faster.
Silent, Egan said nothing, lifted his shirt, and remained only with his pants and shoes. The blonde's hands immediately rested on his chest; they pressed on the muscles and could feel the frantic beats. Just like that whirlwind of emotions swirling in the man's mind was identical to hers. A fleeting image insinuated itself into the seer's mind, like a chime, showing her: a house, friends, and a future together.
Camelia lowered the short sleeves of her white dress, she had nothing else but that, when it slipped down to her waist, she touched her breast against Egan's chest and heard him moan. Shivers and pulsations unleashed; he found himself with muffled ears. His hands ran along Camelia's smooth back and pulled her against him until he lay on that layer of blue dust, and she let herself be led onto him. Panting, Camelia's hand descended towards their center and freed Egan's erect member from his pants and boxers, pulling them down forcefully. The gill's tear rolled under them.
"It's my first time," she whispered in his ear, her nipples brushed against his chest, and she moaned this time.
One of Egan's hands lifted the hem of the dress and slowly climbed up the blonde's right thigh. She lay completely on him. The heavy breathing was the only thing heard in that cave, besides the melodic gurgling of the waters in the distance. When they reached her hidden entrance, Egan's fingers began to trace her profile, Camelia emitted confused sounds but held him tighter, clinging to his neck, giving him a tacit assent. The fingers vibrated with anticipation when they crossed the blonde's wet folds. The heat that emanated with each caress, with each light pressure, accompanied by Camelia's murmurs and her soft whispers of pleasure, also began to make his erection throb, until Egan could wait no longer. Restraining his eagerness, he crossed that warm and wet entrance with caution and delicacy. Camelia clung to his shoulders with determination when she felt completely filled. After a few seconds of stillness, Egan began to move, slowly, until she too started to follow his rhythm.
That arcane energy, grown in intensity since the spark ignited by that kiss, reached them with unprecedented power and overwhelmed them like a storm that strikes the soul; sweeping away every other thought and every other tribulation. It became, finally, the very core of their heart, pulsing with uncontested and dominant force.
When Camelia reached her climax, she let herself fall on Egan's pectorals, the shivers followed every spasm. Egan pushed his member harder, prolonging her pleasure and reaching his peak shortly after. He withdrew from her just in time, to avoid risking something that wasn't yet planned. It was all so frighteningly new and overwhelming, that he feared rushing things even more.
The blonde caressed his chest as she tried to calm her breath and heartbeat. Egan embraced her, a hand brushed the blonde hair and a smile appeared on his lips.
Camelia was alarmed in an instant. The senses clouded by passion were slowly freeing themselves from the daze. She had the perception of a hostile presence very close.
"What's happening?" Egan sat up, fastening his pants, when the blonde also adjusted the sleeves of the dress to where they were before they lost themselves in each other.
"Lisl!" a flap of wings rose and the crow took flight to exit the cave.
"Damn it!" Egan got up and ran, desperately trying to chase it. "If it warns him, it's over!"
"Egan!"
He turned and Camelia threw the gill's tear to him. The young man caught it in mid-air and threw it at the bird.
Lisl sensed the threat in flight that was about to reach her like a bullet, the cave's sky was low and the width uncomfortable for her wing stroke. She summoned a protective barrier that enveloped her in an instant, like an invisible sphere.
The stone struck the barrier and neutralized it. Lisl lost altitude and suddenly found herself disoriented. A frightened caw echoed among the cave's rocks, when the light of the exit was just beginning to be seen. The bird found itself on the ground, wings tight to the body, it stood up awkwardly. The black eyes focused on the outlet from that unfortunate place. Steps behind her. Lisl scurried faster and tried to give herself another push upwards to soar into the air, but two hands fell on her. Egan twisted her neck with force and a long, heartbreaking cry marked the end of the creature.
Camelia hurried over, holding Egan's shirt in one hand and the luminous stone in the other, which she had picked up. When she saw the crow on the ground, with its wings spread and a couple of feathers scattered around, she understood that the confrontation with the demon had reached the point of no return. Egan was panting. He lifted a knee, and then stood up again. The blonde placed the shirt on his shoulders. "It had to be done," he pronounced, without remorse. Lisl turned to dust and disappeared shortly after.
"I know. It will buy us precious time," Camelia rested her forehead on his back and sighed.
Night was approaching.
