Chapter 7 - Broken Ties, Burning Resolve.

Keith arrived at a mansion which was situated in the most secular part of Noir York City.

The superb location coupled with the serene environment in the prime area showcased how well-to-do the Carpenter family was. The family which Jena hailed from weren't the richest in the country or the state, their wealth was nowhere close to that of the Lockwoods.

However, they did have considerable wealth and status in the modern, urban society.

Nevertheless, despite facing the Carpenter family who were obviously wealthier, Keith was unaffected.

He believed that he could reach their height as well, given there was enough time.

Once he stepped inside the Carpenter family building, a barrage of toxicity showered over him. One person in particular, one with a familiar face that screwed him over in his past life.

Glen Jordan— although he goes by the name Glen Carpenter in this new world, because turns out he is the half brother of Jena Carpenter and Keith's brother-in-law.

Glen Jordan, now Glen Carpenter was Keith's best friend and Co-founder of the agro-food company Pinnacle Food in his past life.

Seeing him made Keith want to vomit, but he maintained himself.

Glen was definitely top of his list to exert revenge. Not to mention that Glen is now his abusive brother-in-law in this new world— All the more reason to deal with him and shower the shame he once felt back at his face.

"Hey, Keith the cuck-hold, why didn't you come home for the past week? Don't you know that there is a mountain of shit you could help us out with?"

The first to berate and humiliate Keith was Glen. Being the only son and the heir of the Carpenter family, his favourite past time was to see his brother in law suffer.

Even when he knew that his sister had cheated on Keith, he still found it funny to mock Keith for it.

"Keith Hall! How dare you ignore my calls? Hurry up and sign the freaking divorce papers!" a disgrunted voice shirked.

Keith searched frantically for the familiar voice, it wasn't Jena's but it was someone he knew in his past life too.

"My daughter's happiness had been ruined because of how useless you are! Sign the divorce papers so that my wonderful daughter can marry the man of her choice!" this time, the insult came from a middle aged woman sitting in the middle of the dining room.

'Dressa Carpenter…' Keith said to himself as he locked his sights onto her.

In his past life, Dressa used to be one of the high ranking board members in his company, now she was his abusive mother-in-law and was also listed high on people Keith planned to exert revenge against.

"I've come as you've requested. What do you want from me? Shoot it!" as Keith walked into the dining room, he exhumed a different aura which they were not used to.

Then—

She showed her face. The person he most wanted to revenge against, there she was in between Dressa and Glen, like a green snake in green grass, looking harmless but was able to sway the opinion of all the board members and steal his company in his past life.

Now she is his cheating wife, which disgusted him the more.

'Hmmm… Jena… much like everyone else in this world, she looks a bit younger— probably three to four years younger… you are so going to taste my wrath bitch, you just wait'. Keith thought to himself as he drew imaginary lines along her sleek, sexy body he once caressed in the four walls of his office.

"Do you see the divorce papers on the table? Sign it!" Jena pointed to the table and demanded.

"My daughter will be marrying the prestigious and rich Donald Matson this coming month. You are going to sign the papers right now and stop clinging to my daughter like a bum! Or else… destroying you won't be too difficult for us, seeing as you're just a broke delivery driver!" Dressa threatened with red hot hatred in her eyes.

Keith scoffed.

He never really cared about what happened in this world before he transmigrated, he just wanted to get revenge for what this people did to him in his past life and climb to the top of the business world. After all, its their fault his here in the first place.

"Fine by me…" Keith said smugly while grabbing the papers. "But let me say this, you will regret ever knowing my name… I swear it!" he finished coldly as his eyes stared at them.

"You!" Dressa pointed at Keith angrily and wanted to retort, but ultimately backed down.

Just from looking at Keith's fierce expression, she could feel a chill down her spine.

Scribble. Scribble. Scribble.

"I've finished signing the papers! Here you go…" Keith threw the pile of divorce papers right at their faces. Within a few seconds, the papers were scattered all over the floor.

Without turning back, Keith left the Carpenter family mansion. Although he had no idea on how to exert his revenge, he was sure he would figure something out in time.

After leaving the Carpenter family compound, Keith went back into the city to begin his quest of succeeding in the Antique Business.

Since he had no contacts of people that dealt with antiques, he could only try his luck at an antique dealer in a half desolate part of downtown Noir York City called Orchard Street.

Orchard street is a place famous for antiques transactions. Besides multiple large shop houses that sell authentic antiques specifically, there were numerous small street vendors along the street as well.

Although the probability of one buying an authentic and valuable antique from the street vendors is low, with most people ending up buying counterfeits, the excitement of landing one was so great that it became a famous spot for antique lovers and tourists alike.

It was popular, and when there's popularity— there's business.

Keith had decided Orchard Street as the main battlefield where he would spend most of his time.

Landing just one authentic antique would be enough for him to complete the quest.

With his innate skill- Income Multiplier of 100 times, just finding a one million dollar worth of antique would be enough.
