Asher drove him and Bella to the park and they walked a little before they sat on a bench in the park, they had been talking for hours, discussing their future and the implications of being mates.
"I know it's not going to be easy," Asher said, his eyes serious. "As the Alpha, I have a lot of enemies. People who want to take down my pack and claim the territory for themselves and also people that want me dead."
Bella's heart skipped a beat as she listened to Asher's words. She had never thought about the dangers that came with being mated to the Alpha.
"I don't want anything to happen to you," Asher continued, his voice filled with concern. "That's why I've decided that after you graduate, you'll come live with me in my pack. You'll be our Luna, and I'll make sure you're protected at all times."
Bella's eyes widened in shock. She hadn't expected this. "Leave everything behind?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Asher nodded. "Yes, you'll have to leave your parents, your friends, and your life here behind. But don't worry they can come visit when they want and I'll make sure you have everything you need in the pack. You'll be safe, and you'll be with me."
Bella felt a wave of panic wash over her. She hadn't told her parents about Asher yet, and she had no idea how they would react. And what about her friends? Would they be happy about it? Especially Dylan they planned on going to the same university.
And then there was the fact that she hadn't told Asher about her secret. She was wolfless, and she had no idea how he would react when he found out. Would he still want her as his mate?
"I don't know, Asher," Bella said, her voice filled with uncertainty. "This is a lot to take in. I need time to think."
Asher's expression softened, and he pulled her into a hug. "I know it's a lot to ask, but I promise you, Bella, you'll be happy in the pack. You'll be my Luna, and not just my Luna but also my wife and I'll always be there to protect you."
Bella nodded, feeling a mix of emotions. She knew she had to tell Asher about her secret, and she knew she had to talk to her parents about leaving. But for now, she just leaned into Asher's chest and let him hold her, trying to process everything that was happening.
As they sat there, Bella knew that her life was about to change in ways she couldn't even imagine. She was mated to the Alpha, and she would have to leave everything behind to start a new life with him. But she was scared, and she didn't know if she was ready.
As they were sitting together in comfortable silence his phone rang and he saw it was his beta calling
"Excuse me Bella, i have to take this call" he said as he stood up
"Yes Eric, what is it" he asked
"Sorry to disturb you alpha but your grandmother is looking for you, she said she's been calling you but you've been avoiding her" he said
" I haven't been ignoring her, I just refused to pick her calls " Asher said
"What's the difference " Eric said chuckling
"Well I'm busy, tell her I'll soon be back and that she should stop calling me, cause I already know what she's going to say" he said hanging up the call.
He went back to meet Bella
"Sorry about that, just my grandmother being her usual self" he said playfully
"It's fine, I think I should be on my way home, I don't want my parents to be worried, I promised I wouldn't come late.
"Sure let me drop you off, and maybe I can say hello " he said locking eyes with her.
"Oh you don't have to" Bella was trying to sat but he cut her short.
"I want to, I mean shouldn't I see my in laws" he said as he opens the car door for her.
She knew she had to talk to her parents about leaving sooner or later, why not do it today although she was hesitant. How would they react to her leaving everything behind to live with a pack of strange werewolves? Would they understand?
Asher seemed to sense her unease and tried to reassure her that everything would be okay. He told her that he was sure her parents would be happy for her, but Bella couldn't shake off the feeling of uncertainty.
Before he started driving, she decided to tell him that she was wolfless but was very scared.
But she pushed the fear away.
"Emm Asher, there's something I need to tell you about me" she said scared.
" yeah, what is it?" He asked
"So... the thing is that...
I... I... I do...don't ha... have a wolf.." she said stammering
"Oh is that what your wanted to tell me" he asked calmly and not surprised.
"You're not surprised or angry about it?" She asked
"Well just so you know, I overheard when Amanda was calling you a wolfless freak and, did you think I wouldn't find out everything about my mate" he asked
When he finished talking, Asher took a deep breath and pulled her into a hug. "Bella, it doesn't matter to me," he said, his voice filled with conviction. "You're my mate, and I love you for who you are. Wolf or no wolf, you're still the same person I've fallen for."
Bella felt a wave of relief wash over her, and she hugged him back tightly. Maybe, just maybe, everything would be okay after all.
Asher's words lifted a weight off Bella's shoulders. She had been so scared of his reaction, but instead of rejection, she had received acceptance and love.
"And plus you're not 18 until 3 months right? So why you scared" he asked and she just smiled.
"I love you Ash" she said and he smiled " I love you too bel" he said and hugged her.
But as they hugged, Bella couldn't shake off the feeling that she still had to tell her parents about leaving. She knew it wouldn't be easy, but she couldn't keep it from them forever.
Asher seemed to sense her fear and pulled her closer, looking into her eyes. "We'll face this together, Bella," he said, his voice soft. "We'll tell your parents together, and they'll understand."
Bella nodded, feeling a sense of gratitude towards Asher. She knew that she wasn't alone in this, and that he would be there to support her every step of the way.
As they drove to Bella's house, she felt a sense of determination wash over her. She would tell her parents about Asher and the pack, and she would start making plans to leave. Because her graduation was in a month time.
When they arrived at the house, Bella's parents were in the living room, watching TV they didn't have pack duties today. "Just great today of all days is their free day" she thought to herself. Asher nodded at them, and Bella took a deep breath before speaking.
"Mom, Dad, I need to talk to you about something," she said, her voice steady. Immediately they saw Asher they both bowed
"Alpha Asher what a pleasure, how may we help you" Bella's dad asked curiously.
Her parents looked at her curiously, and Asher stepped forward, his eyes locked onto theirs. "Well," he said, his voice confident. "Bella and I are mates, and I want her to come stay with me as my wife and luna after she graduates, she'll be coming to live with me in the pack."
Bella's parents looked at each other, shock written all over their faces. "What?" her mother asked, her voice rising. "You're leaving us?"
Bella nodded, feeling a pang of guilt. "I know it's a lot to take in, but Asher and I are meant to be together. I'll be safe with him, and I'll be happy."
Her parents looked at each other, and Bella could see the concern in their eyes. But as they looked at Asher, they seemed to see something there, something that made them trust him.
Although they called him the ruthless Alpha.
"Okay," her father said finally, his voice calm. "We'll support you, Bella. But you have to promise us one thing."
"What's that?" Bella asked, her voice hesitant.
"You have to stay safe, and you have to come visit us often," her mother said, her voice filled with emotion for the first time since Bella could understand.
Bella nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. She knew that it wouldn't be easy, but she was ready to face whatever came next, as long as Asher was by her side.
As the days went by, Bella's parents grew more accepting of Asher and the idea of her joining the Moonlight pack. They asked Asher questions about the pack and its dynamics, and Asher answered them patiently, reassuring them that Bella would be safe and happy.
Bella, on the other hand, was busy preparing for her new life as Luna. Asher took her to the pack's territory, introducing her to the other members and showing her the layout of the land. Bella was amazed by the pack's size and complexity, and she felt a sense of excitement and nervousness as she thought about her new role.
Dylan was still not talking to her, but thankfully naomi still was.
Asher was patient with her, teaching her about the pack's history and traditions. He introduced her to the pack's beta's wife, a wise and kind woman named Rachel, who took Bella under her wing and taught her about the pack's inner workings.
Bella was grateful for Rachel's guidance, and she quickly formed a bond with the beta. She also met other members of the pack, including Asher's closest advisors and friends. They were all warm and welcoming, and Bella felt like she was slowly becoming a part of the pack.
Asher's grandmother liked her very well and was happy that her grandson had finally found a wife.
But there was one thing, none of them knew she hadn't gotten her wolf.
As the graduation day approached, Bella felt a mix of emotions. She was excited to start her new life with Asher, but she was also sad to leave her parents and friends behind. She knew that she would miss them dearly, but she also knew that she had to follow her heart and her destiny.
On the day of the graduation, Bella wore a smile on her face, despite her nervousness. Asher was there to support her, and she knew that he would always be by her side. As she walked across the stage, receiving her diploma, Bella felt a sense of pride and accomplishment. She had done it, and she was ready for the next chapter of her life.
After the ceremony, Asher took her hand, and they walked off the stage together, ready to face whatever came next. Bella knew that it wouldn't be easy, but she was ready to take on the challenge, with Asher by her side.
