Chapter 67 - Let's Make a Bet

"Huh?!!!"

Thor froze for a moment.

"Are there really that many people?"

He actually ignored Daredevil, who was charging at him, and instead began to ponder seriously.

There seemed to be news on Earth, and if his brother caused a huge mess, his own reputation would surely be ruined.

Then Jane would see the news, get angry, argue with him, and...

"Emmmm..."

Thor casually grabbed Daredevil's cane as it struck toward his soft spot.

At the same time, he leaned in close to Daredevil's ear, glanced around, and whispered an explanation.

"He's adopted!"

"You...?!?"

Who the hell cares about that kind of question?!

Daredevil truly felt he had lost the meaning of his life. His lifelong mission as a hero seemed utterly destroyed!

First, he met Heisenberg, lost his superhero identity, and became a mob lawyer!

Though the Justice League's emergence restored some of his worth, his strength...

Wasn't it just too weak???

His opponents didn't even take him seriously!

He nervously swallowed, desperately trying to pull his cane back from Thor's grip.

But Thor didn't notice his struggle, instead gently holding the cane and continuing to explain to Matthew.

"You might find it hard to believe, but my brother is indeed adopted. It's my father's side's issue—who knows?

Anyway, we Asgardians are very friendly, especially me. Trust me!"

Thor's expression was serious, but Daredevil felt like crying.

I trust you, I believe everything you say, but can you let go of my cane first?!

After struggling for a while, the cane didn't even budge. Daredevil could only let Thor hold it.

He released his grip, pulled out two batons from his waist, and resumed his stance against Thor.

Thor, meanwhile, weighed the cane in his hand, still subconsciously explaining Loki's situation.

He glanced around, sighed helplessly, and asked,

"Was all this Loki's doing? I mean, this open space?"

Without waiting for Daredevil's answer, Thor nodded.

"Definitely. That guy's always been so savage, so rude!

Don't worry, tell me where he is, and I'll go deal with him right away. I'll bring him here to apologize to you Earthlings. I love Earth!"

As soon as he finished speaking, a gust of wind caught his attention. Daredevil instinctively turned his head to the right rear.

He couldn't see, but he could hear Jessica's silhouette and voice.

Jessica leaped over a dozen meters high and soared through more than thirty meters in the air!

She flaunted her fist, charging it with power, and roared at Thor,

"We Earthlings will handle him ourselves, and that kind of handling will be quite thrilling!!!"

"Wow, she looks a bit like Sif!"

Thor casually tossed the cane aside and prepared to catch her attack.

But then he thought again and threw his hammer aside too!

He jumped in place, bare-handed, and grinned at Jessica as she approached.

*Thud!!!*

Her fist was caught directly in Thor's hand.

"I've been boxing in Asgard for over two thousand years. Trust me, you're no match for a god!"

"We'll see after we fight!"

Jessica refused to back down, roaring as she suddenly increased the force in her right hand. Thor's upper body slightly recoiled a few centimeters.

"Wow, such power! You're fully qualified to be a Valkyrie in Asgard!"

Thor's compliment infuriated Jessica. She was, after all, the second strongest in the Injustice League, but why did she keep encountering monsters?!

"Shut up!"

Her attack completely ineffective, Jessica angrily kicked toward Thor's waist.

Thor completely ignored her kick, pulling her fist backward. Jessica, just starting her kick, stumbled.

Thor seized the moment, pushing Jessica forward. With just a few simple moves, she was already thrown to the ground!

Looking at Jessica's frustrated face, Thor shrugged innocently.

"See? I told you, I've been fighting for over two thousand years. You're no match for me!"

Hearing this, Jessica pushed herself up with her right hand, leaping over two meters high. She adjusted her posture mid-air and landed.

Gritting her teeth, she shook her right hand and sneered at Thor.

"That's because you haven't met a true powerhouse. Otherwise, you wouldn't stand a chance!"

"Hmm, maybe."

Thor smirked.

"There are indeed a few in the universe... emmmm, just a handful I might not handle, but they're not from Midgard!"

As he spoke, the roar of an engine grew louder. Thor, unconcerned about Jessica's potential attack, curiously turned toward the sound.

His eyebrows furrowed, and he swept his right hand toward his forehead!

"Wow, your throwing knives are like my friend Hogun's. I wonder if you can shoot arrows like him?"

Thor caught the small knife aimed at his forehead, examining it.

Meanwhile, Bullseye had just stepped out of his stopped car.

Walking toward Daredevil and Jessica, he coldly asked Thor,

"Do you aliens all like catching ranged weapons with your hands?"

"Hmm, maybe you could use a bit more force, so I can't...?"

*Boom!!!*

A loud explosion erupted in Thor's palm, forcing him to take two steps back.

The smoke cleared, and Bullseye eagerly observed Thor's condition. Thor merely shook his right hand.

"It explodes too?"

He was intrigued!

"Can you give me one of these? I have a brother who loves grabbing things like this, so I'm really looking forward to seeing it blow up in his face, haha!"

Seeing Thor laugh like an idiot, Bullseye was truly exasperated.

The bomb exploded in your hand, you bastard!

And you're not even mad!

You're making it hard for us to continue fighting, you know?!

He turned to Daredevil, seeking some eye contact...

Fuck!

He was just as clueless!

He shifted his gaze to Jessica, who helplessly shrugged at him.

Bullseye sighed, forced a smile, and slowly approached Thor, who was still in his own world.

Thor couldn't help but be excited—his brother was indeed on Earth, and he could finally see Jane. How could he not be thrilled?

He was so excited that he started telling stories to Daredevil and the others!

"You're Earth's warriors, right? But you're much stronger than the Midgard warriors I've met before.

Your throwing knives are fast, and your power isn't small. You seem proficient in mid-range and close combat—now that's what a warrior should be like!

Unlike those people I met a few months ago, all throwing ranged weapons around.

Hey, you've got more people coming, right? Right, the one with that thing!"

Thor pointed at Rumlow, who was speeding toward them on a motorcycle, and asked excitedly,

"What do you call that thing on his back? Is it a pistol?"

"That's a rifle. Pistols are smaller!"

Bullseye pulled out his pistol and started chatting with Thor.

They finally understood—this alien was indeed different from the previous one.

"Wow, a pistol, huh? Can you give it to me? I have another friend who loves weapons. Maybe I can give this Midgard weapon to her!"

"Hmm, sure!"

Bullseye casually tossed the gun to Thor. If Thor couldn't handle his bombs, a mere pistol was nothing.

Thor caught the gun with a smile, immediately starting to play with it. The barrel swung back and forth between Bullseye and the others.

"Hey, don't point that thing at people. It's dangerous!"

Bullseye quickly warned. Thor, curious, placed his finger on the trigger and fired at the ground!

*Bang!!!*

"By Odin's beard, this thing is like Asgard's ancient weapons from tens of thousands of years ago! I don't have many similar collectibles at home!

No, I can't give this to Sif. I'll keep it myself!"

Thor instantly abandoned his gift-giving idea. As he played with the gun, he pointed to Mjolnir standing nearby.

"Thanks for the little gift. Saying thanks is part of Midgard's etiquette, right?

In exchange, I... don't really have anything to give you.

But I'll let you hold my hammer, haha!"

He laughed heartily, as if expecting them to fail.

"Believe me, guys. If anyone can lift my hammer, they'll gain the power of Thor!"

As he spoke, he stepped back, leaving Mjolnir to Bullseye and the others.

"Go ahead and try. If you lift it, you can become the new Thor, haha!

But honestly, I've never seen anyone else lift it. Only the truly worthy are acknowledged!

And I'm the only one worthy, haha!"

Watching Thor laugh like an idiot, Bullseye and the others...

No, now it's Rumlow and the others!

They all sighed helplessly.

Moments later, Rumlow stepped forward and explained,

"I've seen SHIELD's classified files on Thor. He really is the Norse god of thunder—he's not an opponent we can handle!"

"Exactly! You're humans, mortals. You can't compare to a god!

But don't be discouraged. You're already very strong, especially that woman. Her physique is better than many Asgardians!"

As he spoke, Thor continued to invite them with the pistol.

"But you really don't want to try lifting my hammer? Trust me, it's really cool!"

"Alright, Thor. We're mortals. We can't lift your hammer!"

Rumlow said, walking beside Mjolnir and giving it a fierce tug!

"Ugh!!!"

He strained for two seconds, then sighed helplessly, as if nothing had happened.

"See? Can't lift it!"

"Pfft, hahaha, Rumlow, you're hilarious! Let me try!"

Rumlow's attempt lightened the mood. Thor stood beside him, laughing and urging Jessica to lift the hammer.

Jessica squatted, charged up, and suddenly exerted all her strength!

The broken plaza ground was left with two deep footprints.

"Fuck fuck fuck!!!"

Jessica cursed in frustration.

"Your hammer definitely discriminates against women, damn it!"

"Hahaha, no excuses! Mjolnir isn't lifted by brute strength alone. It requires worthiness, the worthiness of a king. Understand?" Thor explained proudly.

"Pfft!" Jessica scoffed, then shouted at Thor, "Just wait until my boss comes back. He'll definitely lift this damn thing!"

"Then let's make a bet. I bet your boss can't lift my hammer!"

"If we're betting, there needs to be a stake, right?" Jessica pressed.

Thor shrugged indifferently.

"Of course. If you win, I'll even hand over my brother for you to deal with. But if you lose?

Emmmm, Midgard doesn't seem to have anything I need. How about you treat me to a feast?

By Asgardian standards, you strong warriors will drink with me for ten straight days. Deal?"
