Chapter 34 - Earth Horizon Alliance

Soon, the crowd noticed something different in the room.

Although most squads hadn't met each other, they still knew who was who.

Seeing familiar faces from other organizations, they couldn't help but voice their doubts.

"Do any of you know why we're here?"

"How would we know? Aren't you from the Crimson Gang? You should know better than us why we've been summoned."

"No, we were just called here without any context."

As they were questioning the matter, they suddenly felt a suffocating aura.

Turning their heads, they saw a man slowly walking to the podium as the crowd parted to make way.

"Crimson Lord Abner..." Camilla murmured.

Hearing this, Nash frowned, looking at the man.

"So, this is a Void Commander..."

The pressure Abner emitted was on a completely different level compared to a Void Warrior.

If a Void Warrior was like a wisp of smoke, then a Void Commander was like a sea that could drown one to death.

"How powerful..." Nash thought longingly.

While he was lost in thought, Abner finally reached the podium, looking at them seriously.

"You must be wondering why you were summoned here..." Abner started.

"All of you come from the top 27 underground organizations on Earth, possessing the highest power and abilities in your groups. You were summoned to this place for a mission—a mission Earthlings have longed to complete..."

"Gathering the strongest group of people on Earth, it is time that we expel the tyrannical Arlean civilization from our home!" Abner said passionately.

However, besides the group from the rebel organization who clapped and shouted vigorously, most of them grew solemn.

What nonsense—expelling the Arlean civilization? Isn't that a death wish? And so, what if they expelled the Arleans from Earth?

Wouldn't it just lead to another, stronger civilization or interstellar group occupying Earth?

Knowing that the seemingly top underground organizations on Earth were just the backhand of some top families and organizations in the Nova sector, they knew all Abner said was a lie.

"It seems most of you are unsatisfied, not believing an ounce of what I've said..." Abner muttered with a smile as he released a suffocating pressure.

Feeling their bodies squeezed as if the Void energy within them was compressed and boiling, they hurriedly apologized.

"Forgive us, Lord Abner. We were ignorant and didn't know how to express our emotions! We've long wanted to expel the Arlean civilization from Earth. We were too excited that we didn't know how to react!" Lucas, one of the clever squad leaders from the Silver Alliance, hurriedly said.

However, deep in his heart, he wanted to curse why he had been summoned to this place.

"That's good. I thought you lot wanted the Arleans to continue suppressing you," Abner smiled knowingly.

"Don't worry; we have planned everything out. All top underground organizations on Earth are in on this. If we fail, we would all die."

"Furthermore, to make it worth your hard work and sacrifice, we've set up a reward pool that even a Void Commander would salivate over. I hope this encourages you to fight harder and expel the Arleans with all your strength."

"For more specific information, you can refer to the notice that will be sent to you later. For now, enjoy your stay here, as the Crimson Base will serve you the best food and rooms available." Abner finished, quickly leaving the place.

---

At night, Nash and the others were in a room assigned to them, thinking about Abner's words, still echoing in their minds.

"Captain, what do you think is about to happen?" Emily asked while lying on the bed.

"It's chaos. Earth is about to be plunged into war," Camilla said solemnly.

With all the top underground organizations initiating a coup on the Arlean civilization, the ones suffering the most would be the people on Earth.

"Should we leave Earth then?" Amber suggested.

None of them had any family left in the world. Besides each other, there was no one left. Leaving Earth shouldn't be a problem.

"We can't afford it..." Nash quickly shook his head.

After learning that Atral City had a relay station to leave Earth, Nash began investigating.

The nearest habitable planet away from the Arlean civilization influence was at least seven thousand light-years away.

With a fee of 1 Void crystal per light-year and a minimum fee of ten Void crystals, their tens or hundreds of Void crystals were nowhere near enough.

As they sighed over their poverty, their phones suddenly vibrated with the information about their mission.

Reading it, there was surprise and excitement on Nash's face.

First, Earth's 27 top underground organizations would merge and be called the Earth Horizon Alliance.

Seeing the name, Nash nearly laughed.

Those big shots still knew how to fool the masses with such an inspiring and forward-looking name.

Nash was sure that once they defeated the Arlean civilization, the Earth Horizon Alliance would just become another Earth Alliance government, oppressing the planet.

Fortunately, not all that they said were empty promises.

In the exchange list, there were many treasures, resources, and weapons they dearly wanted.

Even an S-level spaceship capable of flying at light speed was available for exchange.

There were also restricted items, like a virtual pod to access the galactic network.

Seeing the things they could exchange, Nash was no longer as opposed to the chaos.

Chaos indeed creates chances; with disorder, Earth could either be freed, continue to be suppressed, or, at worst, be completely destroyed.

Yet, no matter what happens, with his abilities, Nash was confident he could survive and thrive in the coming era.

"You seem excited, Nash," Camilla muttered, looking at his smiling expression.

"Why not? I'm thinking of the opportunities in this situation. We may die tomorrow, so why can't I be happy for a while?"

"Hmm, many will die in this, you know? Even I might..."

"Aren't I here? No matter what, I'll ensure your safety,"

"You brat! I'm stronger than you are! I should be the one protecting all of you!" Camilla said, feeling warmth in her heart.

"Oh, I'm just saying..."
