Chapter 12 - The Tournament: Day 2

After Goldie was a pile of meat chunks Stefan carefully looked through his clothing and took everything. He had already decided to give it all to the Beta with Delta abilities.

After this he helped bring the number in his ring down to one hundred by having werewolves yield just by him approaching them. Of course he decided to approach the weakest of the remaining group of werewolves. It was a bit tedious but he did not want werewolves senseless harmed.

That ended the day and Stefan quickly moved to find Tiffany before he was sought out. He spotted her just as someone spoke to him.

"Stefan is an interesting name. You are not from this area are you? Do you have a pack?"

Adonis stood smiling as he watched the powerful little Psi rush to her brother. The truth is Adonis already knew that the little was not related by blood. Werewolves can smell those types of connections between themselves and other werewolves and between different werewolves. Adonis even knew that there was something odd about this Stefan. He could tell that he had once lived in their territory but that he had not lived in one place for long in a long time.

Tiffany stood close to Stefan and watched Adonis. Stefan looked down at her with a soft caring smile then looked back up to Adonis.

"You ask a lot of questions. I am from the East but I did live here in my youth and no. I no longer have a pack."

"But big brother will be an Alpha soon and he will show everyone just how great he is."

"Tiff don't bore the Beta with all of that." She shifted her weight and smirked at Adonis. He found this amusing.

'She is a powerful shewolf that will grow up strong and very arrogant' Of course he was speaking to Amber through telekinesis so he raised an eyebrow when Tiffany reacted as if he had spoken directly to her.

He felt Amber roll her eyes at him. 'Of course she hears you. You yourself just said she is a powerful Psi.'

Tiffany smirked. Stefan looked at her and then to Adonis. A question in his expression. Adonis cleared his throat.

"Alpha Amber has offered rooms in House Whiteclaw for you and your aister."

"I do not think that would be fair. Others would see it as some sort of cheat when I win."

Adonis raised his eyebrows dramatically. He believed that Stefan would Win as well but he was not expecting him to be so arrogant. His eyes flitted to the young Tiffany and he nodded in understanding.

"You are probably right. You will sit at the main table at the banquet tonight." He spun on his heels and walked away before Stefan could think to reply.

'Are we going to the banquet?'

'Of course not. We have things to do. What happened between the two of you?'

Tiffany mentally shrugged. 'Nothing really. His Psi must have a lower ranking than me. I heard him telling Lady Amber that I was powerful and that I would grow up strong and very arrogant'

'His exact words?'

'His exact words.'

'Well, it wasn't a lie. Come. We need to meet with Tar.'

Stefan chose a house outside White Haven proper so that he would not be under too much scrutiny. Of course he was still watched but not as he would have been if he had been in the city proper.

Because of this they easily met with Tar outside the outer city ring. Both Stefan and Tiffany looked Ike they were training while Tar looked to be hunting.

'What news?'

'Everything went well My Lord. All of Dark Howl is ours. Both Kristof and Margot are dead. Their daughters have gone to Iris Pack and their sons are fighting each other.'

'Fighting each other? For what?'

Tar shrugged. 'I'm really not sure to be honest. It seems they fight just to fight.'

'Keep an eye on them.'

'Of course.'

'Start rebuilding all of our new territory just as we planned.'

'We have already started.'

'Good. I can not to wait to see Silver Thread Pack. Come Tiffany. Time for us to return.'

The next day the ten rings had randomly changed environments.

Ring 1: Ghost Town

Ring 2: The Canopy of Giant Trees

Ring 3: Glaciers on a frozen sea

Ring 4: The meadow valley

Ring 5: The desert plane

Ring 6: The lake valley

Ring 7: The wide river

Ring 8: The volcanic island

Ring 9: The mountain chain

Ring 10: The wide plateau in the middle of the ocean

This round Stefan was in Ring eight on a volcanic island surrounded by lava. The one hundred werewolves were positioned in different regions of the island but that meant nothing to a powerful werewolf.

One powerful enough could pinpoint all of the werewolves on the island and know their relative strengths. There were six werewolves with that range of power currently on the island and Stefan was one.

Amber didn't understand why she was so nervous. No matter which Ring he was in she knew Stefan would be victorious. Still the volcanic island made her nervous and she felt that he was purposely sent there.

She tried to remain as calm as possible and still keep her mind and perceptual senses on him.

Stefan was being stalked and it was quite humorous to him. He was being stalked but it would seem these five werewolves were not apart of the tournament. They had suddenly appeared near his position and when they began walking toward him he started walking in the opposite direction.

He was leading them to a spot that seemed rather interesting to his senses. It seemed to be a cool crater in the middle of lava. That was how his senses perceived it but he was thinking it may be a Parshoon.

A Parshoon was a sentient being that loved lava. Parshoons always took on the appearance of inanimate objects. They generally stayed inanimate unless they incurred serious danger.

Stefan smiled as he thought about seriously damaging this crater. His smile widened as he came out of a stand of trees and first saw it. It was a slab of deep azure rock lying in a calm pool of lava.

Stefan jumped on the blue rock and waited. As the werewolves came from the stand of trees they looked for possible ambush then joined Stefan on the flat azure rock with wide smiles on their faces. All of them except for one. This lone werewolf had a face full of doubt. Then he slowly looked down at their feet.

Stefan rose into the air, using a movement technique that manipulated his Psi's telekinetic abilities. Projectiles made of bone shot from his fingertips and hit three of the five werewolves. The other two dodged or used a weapon to bat away the projectiles.

The five almost instantly came for him with the three that had been hit dropping dead after taking three steps forward.

Stefan laughed. "I hope you realize how stupid you were taking this job." He shrugged. "maybe they will give it to your families after you die."

He slashed forward, the two men evaded, and an invisible whip struck the space between their previous positions. They narrowed their eyes as they looked at the noticeable scar in the azure rock.

The doubter and Stefan both saw the black blood slowly bubbling up from the whip mark. Stefan smiled the doubter left the azure rock all together. His partner called out to him, asking what he was doing then calling him a coward. When turned and saw Stefan he began to wonder if he was a fool and his partner the genius.

He shook it off and charged forward. If he had been thinking he would have remembered that, usually only Alphas had abilities like Stefan was showing and even if he was not an Alpha his abilities had to be at Alpha level or higher.

"Idiot."

"Agreed." Adonis nodded as he responded to his sister.

They had both been disappointed that Stefan and Tiffany had not come to the banquet but all was forgive then they found out they were both out training. Amber had rolled her eyes and almost face palmed. Then she had looked at all the werewolves trying to ingratiate themselves toward her and the corner of her mouth had curled into a sneer.

Stefan smirked and waited until his attacker was too close to him to change course. He turned to the side and chopped down with his right hand. There were several sickening cracks all at once and the werewolf dropped to the ground. Stefan watched as the werewolf struggled to get up.

At least one vertebra had been broken so it was going to be a miracle if he succeeded.

Stefan rose into the air and moved to stand beside the doubter. He looked at him as the Parshoon began transforming. He debated whether he would allow this werewolf to live or not as the rock split open to reveal rows and rows od teeth inside a black mouth. The werewolf could do nothing but roll in and be devoured.

"You knew that thing was there?"

"Yes didn't you?" Stefan knew full well this doubter had not known because if he had he would never have been standing on its closed mouth.

The mouth rose to reveal dense quills and a bowl shaped head. It stood on thin legs and it had thin arms. No eyes could be seen the sounds it made showed its anger and that it knew it knew it was alone.

Large waves of lava splashed up to only fall right back down with none of it being lost from the depression. Stefan raised an eyebrow.

This creature was very interesting indeed. He would have to comeback for it. He leaned inti the doubter's ear and whispered. "You better not move. From what I hear they can not see nor hear but the sense movement. He'll go back to sleep when he calms down."

Stefan said the last bit with a broad smile on his face. He vanished from the spot and began going after the werewolves on the island.
