I picked at the blueberry pancakes, feeling the triplets' intense stares as I ate. The tension from my exchange with Lilith still hung heavy in the air. No one spoke much after her outburst, and she'd left shortly after, muttering something about pack business.
I needed to execute the next part of my plan carefully. Taking a deep breath, I looked up at Kaelen.
"May I speak with Alpha Valerius?" I asked softly, trying to sound timid and uncertain.
The fork in Kaelen's hand bent slightly as his grip tightened. Across the table, Orion's jaw clenched, and Ronan's usually charming face darkened.

I twisted my hands in my lap, playing the part of confused, anxious mate. "He's my husband, isn't he? I need to hear his voice. I feel so... lost without him."
