The so-called constrictor was Allen's immediate older sister and the youngest of his three older sisters, Jasmine Norton.
Despite her somewhat delicate appearance, Jasmine could be best described as a tomboy with a lot of strength and she doesn't really know how to hold back.
So, her hugs always end up turning into a torture session for Allen.
However, this time, she seemed to be shaking in fear of what might have happened to her younger brother, so Allen endured for a little while longer before tapping her on the back.
"Mmm." She responded before slowly letting go of him.
The tears she had been holding in for a long while were now streaming down her face.
"What happened to you?" She sobbed. "I was so scared when your teammate called me with your phone, he said he found you passed out on the ground while it was raining."
Allen wasn't really in the mood to answer that question as he seemed to be shaken by the sight of her tears.
It had been a while since he had seen her cry and he still didn't like the sight of it.
Almost subconsciously, he reached out and began to wipe her tears and once he was done with that, he reached out to her hair and stroked it a bit.
She seemed to have cut her hair recently so they only reached up to her shoulders.
"I'm fine." He said just after retracting his hands.
"Yeah, I know but what happened?" Jasmine asked once again.
She was worried, but Allen could tell there was something else there other than worry.
"It was nothing." Allen shook his head.
There was no way he was going to tell his sister that he got struck by lightning as punishment for scoring an own goal.
"Which of my teammates found me?"
"I think he's called David, the one who recently transferred from Villarreal." She disclosed. "He's Spanish, right?"
"Yes."
"He's pretty cute up close." She giggled.
Watching his usually aloof sister act like a normal girl for once, Allen couldn't help but roll his eyes.
"What did the doctor say about my condition?" He asked, changing the topic.
"He said there's nothing wrong with you, and you might have passed out from exhaustion."
"Exhaustion?"
"Mm." She nodded before leaning closer to him. "I didn't know scoring an own goal could cause great exhaustion, it looks like a lot of footballers will have to be careful from now on."
Allen couldn't help but exhale in exasperation.
This was the sister he was used to.
She was crying because of him just a few moments ago and now she was teasing him.
Since there was nothing wrong with Allen, he was discharged soon after he woke up.
When he walked out of the hospital, he noticed that the rain had stopped, but the sky was completely dark now, with no stars or moon in sight.
He sat in the front passenger seat and listened to Jasmine chatter all the way as she drove home. He would occasionally react with low grunts but he refused to say anything to her.
It didn't take long for them to get home, and while Jasmine went off to park the car, he made his way to the door.
He had just gotten to the door when his ears perked up. The sound coming from the living room was something he could recognize.
A newly released meme song that has been very popular recently, it was a melancholic opera with funny sound effects in specific intervals.
Well, it was funny to others but Allen could only describe it as cringe.
"Great, she's caught on to another brain rot." He scoffed before turning the knob to push the door open.
The youngster almost felt his jaw-dropping the moment he walked into the room.
The sound was coming from a video playing repeatedly on the screen. No, it was more like an edit.
An edit of the own goal he scored just a few hours ago.
He walked in to catch the part where he buried his head on the ground just after making the mistake.
The moment he raised his head, a clown nose and wig appeared on him.
The image paused at that moment before a meme dog with hands pointing at him appeared on the screen; it was also accompanied by that weird meme laughter, which he found really annoying.
To finish things off, the title, 'Future best player' was boldly displayed above him.
The more Allen watched, the more he felt his blood begin to boil.
That only happened a few hours ago and his own sister had already made a mocking edit of it.
His mouth was literally twitching when Jasmine walked into the room.
Soon, he began to laugh quite loudly.
"Woah, I didn't think you would find this funny. Are you a masochist or something?"
"No." Allen shook his head before turning to her. "But I might become a murderer."
He was able to dash toward her when a voice came from the stairs.
"I told her not to make it."
Allen quickly turned around to find his second sister coming down the stairs.
She was wearing a set of black pyjamas and had a book in her hand.
Her long dark hair swayed behind her with her movements and her clear brown eyes smiled as she looked at Allen.
Elena was Allen's second sister, and being twenty-one years old, she was only two years older than Jasmine.
The moment she got to the living room, she picked up the remote control and turned the television off.
Then she turned to Jasmine with a glare she was most familiar with.
"Jasmine, a glass of water please."
"Mm." Jasmine responded before walking off toward the kitchen.
She was quite hyper just a few moments ago but she seemed to have been tuned down by quite a lot.
While Jasmine was getting the water, Elena led Allen to the couch and sat down with him.
"I heard you passed out. Are you okay?"
While asking that, she reached out to touch his forehead.
"I'm fine, sis." Allen smiled.
It seemed like he had forced out a bit of the emotions his sisters usually kept hidden today just by passing out.
His second sister usually hid herself in her room whenever she was home and didn't really talk to anyone. She was like a big block of ice compared to Jasmine.
He knew she cared about him, but this was the first time in a while she was physically showing it.
Jasmine returned with the cup of water after about a minute. Elena took it from her and handed it to Allen who took a few sips before dropping it on the table.
"Are you sure you're fine?" Elena asked once again.
"Mm." Allen nodded before getting up on his feet.
With Elena's presence, he seemed to have forgotten about the video.
The two sisters just stayed and watched as their younger brother made his way upstairs.
All four siblings had their rooms upstairs, and Allen's room was just across from that of his oldest sister, who no longer lived there.
The youngster reached for his knob and was just about to open his room when a voice resounded in his mind.
[ System Admin is now online ]
'System admin?'
"Hello, Allen."
The voice he heard earlier sounded monotonous just like every other robotic voice he had ever heard, but the voice he heard now sounded feminine and very much human.
"System Admin?"
"I suppose you can call me that, but I do have a name, just so you know."
"She even speaks like a human?" Allen muttered.
"Are you dissatisfied with the way I speak?" She retorted.
"No, I didn't say that."
"Good."
There was a long pause before Allen asked, "So what's your name?"
"Call me, Mira."
