Sara slowly put her hood back on, her heart racing.
"He probably hasn't left the country." She told herself. Her eyes then sharpened.
"I'll find him!"
***
As she kept walking over the sidewalk, she took out her hands to blow into them to keep them warm.
"I wonder how's he doing in this weather." She whispered to herself. Her cheeks red from the cold. Sara looked over to the left towards the other sidewalk, there she saw 2 blond people. It was obvious that they were foreign, both of them had extremely pale skin. A man and a woman, the man looked normal, but the woman had some weird mask on. Sara double glanced at her.
"Is that a witches hat?" She said while observing the woman before looking back at the road. The mans eyes then flung towards Sara.
"Sa-iq Shawkat! You're stupid for lurking in the cities!" He yelled. The man then rushed towards Sara and held her shoulder. Sara looked back at him confused and a little mad.
"Oh, sorry I mistook yo-"
"Get your hand off me!" Sara said before she slapped it off.
"Oh, my apologies I thought you were someone else." He then took a closer look at Sara and began walking towards her, Sara got backed into a wall, ready to use her Dermine if she needed to.
"My senses shouldn't have failed me, something is up with you am I right?" He then his hand on the wall to Saras right.
"Oh yeah, Sa-iq had a twin, you must be her am I right?"
"Nicholas, people won't respond to you if you corner them into a wall, off her." Nicholas broke his eye contact with Sara and looked towards the voice.
"Yeah you're right, sorry Ms. Michelle."
"How'd you even figure this out." Michelle asked.
"From a distance, she did look a little like Sa-iq, her wearing a hood and having DER around her just made me more suspicious."
"Sara Shawkat, I am Nicholas Freeze from the International Dermine Agency. I shall have a word with you about Sa-iq Shawkats placement and other crucial information about him."
"Nicholas leave her, let's keep looking for Sa-iq, if she had any information about him the agency would have let informants talk with her, that's their job not ours."
"Yeah, sorry for my unprofessional act ma'am, I simply thought interrogating Sara Shawkat could help us."
"I can't believe it! That was the lower ranked 5 agent and upper ranked 5 agent! I'll just tell them fake information," She thought to herself.
"Sa-iq has fled the country, you'll never find him you bastards!" Sara said. She then began emitting more DER, causing Nicholas to get cautious.
"Ma'am, should I intervene?"
"I'll keep looking for Sa-iq Shawkat, she seems to be mentally broken because of her situation, so make sure you stay here and stop her from harming anyone, make sure you do that using as little force as possible." Michel continued walking, Nicholas nodded.
Sara began controlling a little bit of the wind, striking Nicholas. He dodged it with ease. Nicholas suddenly then swung his sword, a block of ice appearing and trapping Sara. Nicholas looked around and noticed people recording.
"This is a part of the mission handled by the agency, No recording!" He said out loud, he then rushed towards the ice block and took it somewhere with less people.
"Melt"
Sara fell down to her knees, her clothes all wet from the ice.
"Have you calmed down now?" He said while looking down at Sara.
"You-!" She kept coughing out all of the water that she had accidently inhaled.
"Sorry, I'm not allowed to use violence on you, so I had to go with this."
"You'll kill Sa-iq once you find him right? The agency lacks shame!"
"Don't make me laugh there will be no killing. We simply need to hold him under our supervision to learn more about what has actually happened, yet he doesn't seem to understand that. If let's say a demon can take control over his body then it would be better for him to be in our supervision. That way we can take care if the demon takes control. Even if there was an execution set on his head, I'm pretty sure no one in the lower or upper division would allow that. And in front of the courts, the top agents voices are the ones that matter the most." Sara seemed to calm down after hearing this. Nicholas took out his hand to help Sara up.
"I'm sorry sir." Sara said as she got up.
"Don't be, I'd do the same in your situation. However, I need to find this kid before he causes more harm." Nicholas then looked at her then smiled.
"Also just call me Nicholas, calling me sir makes me feel old, I'm only 19 after all." He then took out her hand for her to shake. Sara stared dumbfounded.
"You- you're 19? But how are you so skilled?"
"Ah hah, it's nothing special, I was just lucky to be trained under Ms. Michelle." He then chuckled and began scratching the back of his head.
"I feel terrible for you. Dermine fighting at the age of 13 is unacceptable. I wish I could tell you why they accepted you, but that talk is only heard between the upper ranks, so I really am just as clueless as you."
"Oh actually, my brother Sa-iq only joined because he wasn't allowed an allowance, and all other jobs for his age were paying too little. I only joined to help on his missions."
"Oh really? That's a rather weird reason for Sa-iq to join."
"They're just like Sina, the only exceptions, the only ones allowed to join while being underage." He thought to himself. Nicholas then came back to his senses and looked to the left.
"SARA WATCH OUT!" He then pushed Sara towards the ground, a glowing red beam came flying, had Nicholas not been there, the beam would've vaporized Sara. Sara looked over from where the beam came from and she was horrified. Nicholas jumped in front of her.
"Stay out of this Sara! This entire plan was too risky, sending all upper and lower agents to one country was bound to attract stronger demons!" He yelled.
"From the looks of it this one looks C-rank, I shouldn't struggle too much against it, but I'll have to keep my eye on the girl." He thought to himself.
"Trinial beam huh? So, you're too much of a coward and decide to use extras?" Nicholas said.
"Trinial beam is my given right that you Dermines don't have, so why shouldn't I use it?" The demon asked before it began smiling. Suddenly the demon went into some kind of mini portal.
"Is he retreating to the Shadow Realm?" Sara asked.
"Нет, портал меньше, должно быть, в этом и заключается его способность. (No, the portal is smaller, that must be its ability.)"
"What? I don't even speak Russian how are the words coming out as Russian?" Nicholas thought to himself.
"!لا أستطيع فهم إلا اللغة الإنجليزية والعربية (I can only understand English and Arabic!)"
"What the- I didn't mean to speak Arabic." Sara thought to herself. The demon then came out of the small portal trying to slash Sara
"जमाना! (Freeze!) "Nicholas yelled. He missed and only managed to freeze the demons arm.
"Shatter!" He yelled, the ice then broke up into pieces, breaking the demons left arm as well.
"Oh wow, that's a strong ability!" The demon said.
"What is your ability!?" Nicholas yelled before running towards the demon.
"As if I'll tell you!" The demon eyed Nicholas down before going back into the portal. Sara stood up, her hands barely able to hold the sword from her shaking. The two suddenly hear footsteps behind them, Nicholas immediately strikes from where he heard the footsteps, only to be bamboozled once he saw that no one was there.
"Pass auf, Nicholas! (Watch out, Nicholas!)" Sara yelled. She swing her sword up, barely able use the wind to deflect the attack.
"Getting me so close was a bad idea!" The demon yelled, he then punched the air and caused a sonic boom. Both Sara and Nicholas' eardrums were damaged, however Nicholas ignored it.
"I get it now, your ability has something to do with sound, sonic booms, fake footsteps and you make us speak in languages we don't know." Nicholas thought to himself while smiling, blood flowing out of his ears.
"The girl is on the ground, the damage in her ear must have hit her even harder." Nicholas then started emitting a large amount of DER.
"Είτε επιστρέψτε στο βασίλειο των σκιών, είτε μείνετε εδώ και παγώστε, σκουπίδια! (Either return to the shadow realm, or stay here and freeze, you scum!)" Nicholas yelled, he then launched his strongest yet slowest attack.
"Moisture freeze!" The air around the area began freezing.
"Even if he kills me now, the attack will still be going on. As long as my DER exists in this world, my attack will not stop until all of his insides are frozen!" Nicholas thought to himself.
The demon looked at his hands while laughing. The blood on his hand freezing up.
"You're an interesting fellow Nicholas, remember the name. Sindu Sense. I'll see ya at the Bak Games!" The demon said before retreating into the Shadow Realm. Nicholas dropped to the ground, turning off his attack.
"I can't freeze him while he's in another realm, also I need to make sure I don't freeze the girl on accident."
"The Bak Games? Those games that happen once every 100 years? I thought that event was just a rumor!" She said.
"Your eardrums work fine I guess, mine are still ringing and I can't really hear what you're saying." Nicholas responded.
"I wasn't hit too badly, I was more affected by the shockwave itself, my rib is still healing so I think I might've broken it again." She said.
"I still can't hear you, but luckily I can read lips. Let's get you to the doctor then." He said.
"But what about the Bak Games? Are they real?" Sara asked?
"Yeah the games are real, and they happen every 100 years, around 7-10 of those games have happened, and it is believed that Dok Bak is the one who starts those games. The next game is going to happen in 2027, and it will be the first game where the Dermine will be used, so we just want to stop Dok Bak from doing that. If the Bak games are going to begin, then the world will get closer than ever to war. But all of that doesn't matter for now, the good thing is we're both safe." Nicholas took out his hand to help Sara get up. Nicholas took a good look at Sara.
"So that was Sindu Sense huh, that guy is actually B-ranked, so we're lucky to be alive." He said before passing out and falling to the ground. Sara looked down and was horrified.
"Omg omg omg! Wait I know what to do, I'll use the wind to fly him to a hospital." Sara said to herself.
