Chapter 10 - Final Chapter: Until the Sky Calls Us Home

The years passed gently, like leaves drifting in a quiet stream.

Elira and Sovann made a life in the mountains—simple, tender, filled with laughter, stolen kisses, and quiet evenings under the stars. She planted glowing flowers from her world beside his herbs. He carved her name into the wooden beams of their home, where it remained, weathered but strong.

They never sought adventure. They had already found the greatest one in each other.

Time touched them gently. Sovann's hair turned silver, and lines marked his once-strong hands. Elira remained ageless longer, her magic slowing time—but even stars must one day rest.

One final winter arrived, blanketing the mountains in soft white. The fire crackled in their little cabin, the same one that had witnessed their first words, their first laughs, their first shared silence.

Sovann lay beside her, warm under thick blankets, her hand held tightly in his.

Outside, snow drifted like feathers. Inside, two hearts beat slowly, peacefully.

"Do you remember," Sovann whispered, voice soft and raspy, "when you fell in the river and soaked me?"

Elira smiled, her eyes still bright. "I let you win, you know."

He chuckled. "Liar."

A pause. Then—

"Elira," he whispered, "if I leave first… will you wait for me?"

She turned to him, brushing her lips gently against his forehead.

"No," she said softly. "I will come with you."

They held each other close, two old souls wrapped in warmth, love, and all the moments that made a life.

And when the stars rose above the snowy mountains that night, the cabin grew quiet.

But in the sky, if one looked closely, a pair of glowing lights soared side by side—free, eternal, whispering through the heavens like they once did through the wind.

Together, forever.

The End.
