Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Stepping on Tang San

Ye Qiu was chewing on a candy, also glancing outside the door.

A pretty little girl stood just outside Dorm Seven. She looked to be about the same age as Ye Qiu and similar in height.

Her delicate little face had a rosy glow, soft and pink like a ripe peach, making people want to take a bite.

Her clothes were very plain, but extremely clean. Her long black hair was braided into a scorpion braid that hung down past her hips.

She looked as exquisite as a porcelain doll.

While sizing up the girl at the door, a trace of amusement flickered in Ye Qiu's eyes.

So this is the 100,000-year rogue rabbit, Xiao Wu?

She certainly looks the part!

I wonder if her long legs really are as strong as they say once she grows up.

Ye Qiu sat quietly on the bed, his expression unreadable.

Tang San, who had just become the dorm leader, snapped out of a short daze. Covering his mouth slightly, he asked Wang Sheng:

"Wait… are boys and girls housed together here?"

Wang Sheng dumbly nodded, his eyes not moving in the slightest, and answered in a low voice:

"This room has dozens of beds. With such a large space, the academy's no charity house. We're all still young anyway. I heard boys and girls only get separated once we reach the Intermediate Soul Master Academy."

As he spoke, Wang Sheng seemed to realize something and jabbed Tang San in the side.

"Boss! Go! Show her who's boss!"

"Huh? Do I really have to?"

Tang San hadn't expected that just after becoming boss, he'd have to fight a dainty little girl.

At the door, the little girl blinked her big innocent eyes, slightly furrowing her brows.

Seeing no one responding to her, she looked up again at the sign reading "Dorm Seven," and frowned even deeper.

"Can't I come in?"

"You can, but you'll have to wait a bit."

Leaning against the bunk frame, Ye Qiu smiled as he answered.

Though Xiao Wu looked sweet and delicate, she was still just a kid. He wasn't going to stare at her like the others did.

"Wait a bit?"

The girl touched her lips lightly with her index finger, confused.

Seeing this, Wang Sheng grew nervous and kept jabbing Tang San, signaling that he couldn't break the dorm rules.

Tang San sighed helplessly, reluctantly stepping forward and awkwardly standing in front of the girl.

"Hello, I'm Tang San, the boss of this dorm. Dorm Seven has a tradition: any new working student must show their strength. So, I'd like to spar with you—is that okay?"

"A spar? Are you sure?"

Upon hearing "spar," the girl's large, ruby-like eyes suddenly lit up.

So that's why I had to wait?

Big Sis Xiao Wu likes this kind of thing!

"Sure I'm sure," Tang San nodded gently.

"Okay! Let's do it!"

The girl's face lit up with excitement. She carefully set down the school uniform she was holding onto a nearby empty bed, then turned around happily and introduced herself:

"I'm Xiao Wu! Wu as in dancing. My Martial Soul is a rabbit—yes, one of those cute white ones! And I'm born with full innate soul power! What about you?"

As she spoke, two adorable dimples appeared on her face—utterly charming.

Even Ye Qiu was slightly impressed.

Let alone Tang San, who had spent his past life obsessed with hidden weapons and rarely interacted with girls. The pure-hearted boy was already staring at Xiao Wu, somewhat dazed.

Meanwhile, Wang Sheng and the others erupted in shock.

"Another one with full innate soul power?!"

"Eh?"

Xiao Wu glanced curiously at them, then turned back to Tang San, puffing out her cheeks.

"Hey! Are you gonna fight or not?"

"Ah—right. My Martial Soul is Blue Silver Grass. I also have full innate soul power!"

Tang San snapped out of it and quickly responded.

"Blue Silver Grass? That weak little thing can be full soul power too?"

Xiao Wu tilted her head, surprised.

Though confused, she only muttered that casually, then flicked her scorpion braid and said with a smile:

"Let's begin then!"

Before Tang San could react, Xiao Wu's right leg bent at the knee, foot springing forward. Her left foot stayed planted while the right foot shot up, aiming straight for Tang San's chin.

It didn't look very powerful—but it was incredibly fast, catching Tang San off guard.

Still, he reacted quickly.

Fully alert now, he stepped back quickly.

Xiao Wu pushed off her left foot and pounced, her light body soaring through the air. A delicate foot swept toward Tang San's head.

Smack!

Tang San caught her ankle in his hand.

Now realizing Xiao Wu wasn't ordinary, he got serious and flung her aside with a twist of his arm.

"Ah—!"

Gasps erupted around them.

Just when everyone thought this delicate girl would crash into the floor…

Xiao Wu twisted in midair and landed steadily on her feet—leaving Tang San, who had tried to follow up, stunned.

Whoosh!

Xiao Wu didn't believe in fighting fair.

Taking advantage of Tang San's pause, she pushed off the ground and launched into the air, aiming a deadly scissors kick right for his head.

Smack!

But Tang San wasn't easy to deal with either—he blocked her legs effortlessly.

Her kick blocked, Xiao Wu didn't give up. She twisted her waist and bent her body like a folded bow, swinging her long scorpion braid toward Tang San's tanned face.

So fast!

Tang San marveled in his heart.

He quickly let go, trying to retreat, but it was too late.

Xiao Wu's little foot had already hooked behind his neck.

Smack!

"Hiss—!"

The braid whipped across Tang San's face with a loud crack, leaving a red mark behind.

A burning pain flared on his cheek.

Strike while the iron is hot!

Xiao Wu landed lightly, and in a flash, raised her right leg again and kicked upward at Tang San's chin.

"Ah—!"

Tang San cried out. His small body lifted off the ground.

Biu~

He soared through the air, tracing a graceful arc before crashing heavily to the ground with a thud.

"Ugh..."

Even Tang San groaned. The impact churned his blood and left his bones aching.

Even Ye Qiu watching from the side winced.

Just imagining the pain was enough.

Tang San's body twitched slightly. Just as he tried to get up—

Thud!

Xiao Wu had already landed on top of his back, standing triumphantly over him, looking down with a smug smile.

"How's that? I win!"

Lying beneath her, Tang San gave a wry smile. There was no point in denying it. He'd never really cared about being the dorm leader anyway.

He nodded slightly.

"I lost. According to our rule—whoever wins becomes the boss. So, from now on, you're the boss of Dorm Seven."

"Boss?"

Xiao Wu's eyes lit up—not with surprise, but pure delight.

"Sounds fun! Okay! From now on, I'm your boss!"

She had long played the "big sister" role in front of Da Ming and Er Ming, so she slipped into character with ease.

She bounced a couple of times in excitement, hands on her hips, and shouted at Wang Sheng and the others:

"Listen up! From now on, I'm your boss! I'm Xiao Wu—Wu as in dancing. You'll all have to call me Big Sis Xiao Wu!"

"Come on, say it! Let's hear it!"

Never expecting Tang San to lose to the dainty Xiao Wu, Wang Sheng and the others finally snapped out of their shock and hurriedly responded in unison:

"Hello, Big Sis Xiao Wu!"

"Good! Hello to all of you too!"

Xiao Wu beamed with excitement.

She never thought that even in the human world, she could still be the queen bee.

"...Xiao Wu, can you get off me now?"

A weak voice came from beneath her. Though Xiao Wu wasn't heavy, Tang San was still just a child!

Ye Qiu's eye twitched.

She actually bounced on top of Tang San and he just let it happen... only now does he speak up.

Xiao Wu blinked.

Something didn't feel quite right under her feet. Looking down—

Oh! Tang San was still under her foot!

"Oops! I totally forgot about you!"

Xiao Wu gave an awkward laugh and gently hopped down, not forgetting to remind him:

"Don't forget to call me Big Sis Xiao Wu!"

Tang San gave a bitter smile and silently got up. Call her big sis? No way.

"Thanks."

Hearing that, Xiao Wu giggled.

"Haha! You're kinda funny. I beat you up and you're still thanking me?"
