Serelina took Elowin back to their dorm. Elowin, still shaken by everything that had happened, hugged tightly to her, afraid to let go. She never thought something like this could happen to her.
On the other side of that embrace, Serelina gently comforted her but deep in her heart, she couldn't stop blaming herself. If only I hadn't let her go alone, if only I had stayed by her side, this might never have happened.
She carefully applied medicine to Elowin's wounds. The bruises on her arms, the cut on her lip.they made Serelina's chest ache. She tucked Elowin into bed to let her rest, but Elowin still trembled with fear. So Serelina lay beside her, pulling her into a soft embrace and gently running her fingers through her hair, whispering calming words until Elowin slowly drifted off to sleep in her lap.
That night,
Serelina quietly woke her up. Elowin was in pain and weak, so Serelina fed her a warm bowl of mixed vegetable soup . After dinner, she began telling soft, beautiful stories to distract Elowin from the nightmare of earlier. Slowly, Elowin fell asleep again, her face peaceful in the dim light.
As Serelina watched her,

Without even realising what she was doing, she leaned in and gently kissed Elowin.
Her eyes widened as the realisation hit her. What have I done? She was Shocked and confused, she stood up and stepped outside into the night air, trying to make sense of her emotions. The cool air didn't help her heart still raced with a feeling she didn't understand.

she quietly returned to the room and lay beside Elowin, holding her carefully, afraid she might hurt her again even unintentionally.
