Chapter 79 - ## Chapter 79:   Light Snow   the Snow Wolf

## Chapter 79: Light Snow the Snow Wolf

I don't know how long passed, but the dazzling Glow on the Ghost Wolf's Body slowly faded away. Appearing In Front of me was a Snow-colored Giant Wolf, a full third larger than a normal Ghost Wolf. Gone was the Ghost Wolf's signature gloomy Gaze; its eyes now radiated endless sharpness and Authority. The other three Ghost Wolves, with just a light sweep of its Gaze, lowered their proud heads in submission. This was a treatment even I, their Master, had never received.

Looking at this Giant Wolf In Front of me, almost as tall as my shoulder, I was stunned for a long time before reacting. It wasn't until it lowered its head and gently nudged my arm with its huge Brain, as if to Act Spoiled, that I dared to confirm it was the Ghost Wolf with the deepest Feelings/Emotions for me, the one I had spent the most Energy cultivating. Thinking of this, I quickly opened its Stats panel, and was then astonished by the overwhelming amount of Stats information.

Snow Wolf (Elite Evolution): An Advanced Creature evolved from the most talented Ghost Wolf through long-term combat Experience accumulation. Evolution Level 1: All abilities increased by 50%, Life additionally increased by 100 points, all Resistance additionally increased, 10% Chance of Giant Claw Tear when Attacking, Damage increased by 100%, 5% Life Steal; Deterrence, Elite unit's Innate Talent, has a certain Chance to scare away Enemies that Approach it. The Chance is related to the comparison of Strength/Power between both sides and the Quantity of the opposing side.

Note: The Snow Wolf is the Leader of the Ghost Wolves. Among a pack of Ghost Wolves, only one Snow Wolf is allowed to appear.

The Ghost Wolf actually evolved! Not Mutated! But evolved? No wonder the White Light on its Body lingered for so long. Compared to the Poison Creeper and Lazy Crow, the spectacle was so much grander.

My heart was overjoyed, but feeling the Snow Wolf's inner state at this moment, there wasn't a trace of joy from the evolution. Thinking that its evolution from being Mutated might have been triggered by the death of its companion, the happiness in my heart immediately faded. After more than a month of Getting Along, if my Feelings/Emotions for these five Ghost Wolves were deep, then these five Ghost Wolves had already become no different from blood Brothers to each other.

I gently stroked the Snow Wolf's large Brain that leaned against me to show comfort. Now its Body was already a bit taller than mine. To stroke its head like before, I would really have to raise my hand to reach it.

"Now that you've also evolved, I'll give you a Name. How about Light Snow ?" I said a little sadly. Then, facing the other three Ghost Wolves, I gave them Names one by one to distinguish them:(translter :as he will spical so ileft his name as chinse ) Xiao Er, Little Three, and Little Four.

I didn't spend much Effort thinking about it; a Name is just a code anyway, as long as it's easy to remember. As for these four, they will become my key cultivation targets in the future, just like the Poison Creeper and Lazy Crow.

As for the remaining one Ghost Wolf and four Ravens, I don't want to cultivate any more Feelings/Emotions for them.

It's not that I'm heartless, but there always needs to be some cannon fodder, right? Instead of feeling sad later, it's better not to get close from the start.

That way, I can feel more at ease sending them to be cannon fodder when the time comes.

On the ground, after the Ghost Wolf's Corpse disappeared, Treehead Woodfist's Corpse also began to gradually fade, leaving behind a pile of Equipment. One piece even shimmered with a Gold Glow, but I had no time to carefully Identify it. After Treehead Woodfist's Corpse disappeared, the Monsters that had been Attracted by the recent brilliant light and howling had already begun to stir.

I casually grabbed the Equipment on the ground and stuffed it all into my Inventory. I glanced at the Poison Creeper and the others, my Gaze finally landing on Light Snow . Looking at its tall Figure, my heart suddenly stirred. Back at the Rogue Encampment, I had tried using a Ghost Wolf as a Mount, but there's a saying to describe wolves: copper head, iron tail, tofu waist. As soon as I sat on one, the Ghost Wolf immediately became listless. Now that Light Snow has grown so big, I wonder if it can be a Mount?

Thinking of this, I immediately signaled Light Snow to stand still. Then I flipped over and jumped up, sitting steadily on its back. Light Snow just paused slightly, showing a hint of discomfort, then immediately stabilized.

It worked! I suppressed the excitement in my heart and signaled Light Snow to run. I felt a "whoosh," and a strong wind rushed past my face. I instinctively squinted my eyes. By the time I adjusted, Light Snow was already running rapidly through the Dense Forest with me. This unprecedented experience left me a bit disoriented. By the time I realized I was in the Dense Forest, with nothing but branches and leaves ahead, it was too late. My face felt a burning pain, as if it had been fiercely lashed by countless Whips, stinging terribly. I quickly leaned down, pressing my entire Body against Light Snow 's back, and only then was I safe.

After running for a while, until we ran out of the Forest and arrived at an open little Grassland, I finally had Light Snow stop. Haha, the first Mount and fighter of the Diablo World has finally been born in a magnificent fashion.

Based on my observation, Light Snow 's pure Speed is now faster than my Werewolf Transformation, almost comparable to Treehead Woodfist. Even with me on its back, the Speed doesn't slow down much. The three Ghost Wolves and the Poison Creeper are already starting to fall behind. It seems that when traveling in the future, I'll have to dismiss the Poison Creeper and Ghost Wolves. As for the Oak Sage, I can just hold it in my arms, since it's not big anyway.

The Gold Equipment dropped by Treehead Woodfist was finally picked out during the Rest. It was a Light Belt, and its Stats were incredibly good. As expected from a Boss drop, it's definitely an Excellent Grade item.

Carved Harness Light Buckle Belt

Defense: 5

Durability: 16-16

Required Level: 10

+5 Dexterity

+18 Life

+15 Mana

Lightning Resistance +24%

Poison Resistance +22%

Attacker Takes Damage 4

After Identifying this Belt, my mouth was wide open for quite a while. I quickly put it on. The Durability consumption of Belts is generally very low; it doesn't drop even after more than ten days. The items with the highest Durability consumption are Clothes and Weapons, followed by Gloves and Shoes.

Besides this, there was also a blue Weapon, whose preciousness and practicality were absolutely no less than this Belt to me, because it was a blue Scepter.

Sea Blue Scepter

One-Hand Damage: 6-11

Durability 50-50

Level Requirement: 12

Mace Class: Fast Attack Speed

Poison Resistance +15%

+1 to Resist

+3 to Holy Bolt

+50% Damage to Undead

Level 1 Resistance Aura can additionally provide 70% Defense. Holy Bolt can not only deal huge Damage to Undead, but also Heal my Summon. Combined with the Scepter's Innate Talent of +50% Damage to Undead, it's simply the bane of Undead. It can be said that every single Stat on the Scepter is Excellent Grade. To me, it's even more useful than the Gold Belt I just got.

Besides these 2 Excellent Grade Weapons, there was also a Cracked Topaz, 2 bottles of +1 Life Healing Potions. Most importantly was Light Snow 's evolution. It can be said that this time's harvest was greater than any previous one, but...

Thinking of the Ghost Wolf that died in battle, my mood became low again. Actually, half the responsibility for its death lies with me. If I had noticed its Buff, or reacted a little faster, and Summoned it back in time, perhaps it wouldn't have died—being unable to consider the overall situation during combat, and not reacting quickly enough after an accident, these are my major weaknesses. I must focus on honing these in the future and absolutely cannot let something like this Matter/Thing happen again today.

After Resting for a while where I was, I dismissed the Ghost Wolves and Poison Creeper. Riding Light Snow , I hurried towards the Tree of Inifuss. At Light Snow 's Speed, it didn't take long before I was back on that Hillside.

The hunting Saber Cats returned. Seeing that their leader was gone, they were all terrified, not knowing what had happened. These Saber Cats, numbering in the thousands, were also a trouble for me, and there were Blade Demon Mages present. I didn't have any good Method. I could only choose the side with the fewest Saber Cats and break through head-on. Then I quickly retrieved the Scroll from the Tree of Inifuss. As expected, after getting the Scroll, my Surroundings were completely surrounded by Saber Cats. There was nothing I could do. I had to Summon all my Pets, keep the Oak Sage in the middle, and then forcefully carve out a bloody path through the pile of Saber Cats to finally complete this Quest.

Next was finding the Waypoint. To save time, I didn't care about any Trial anymore. Along the way, no matter what Spike Fiends, Foul Spears, or Skeleton Archers appeared, they were all left far behind by Light Snow 's whirlwind-like Speed.

Finally, riding Light Snow , I wandered around the Dark Wood for two full days before finally finding the Dark Wood's Waypoint—it was on top of a towering Large Tree, a simple large Platform built using thick branches, with numerous Protection Magic Arrays cast in the Surroundings. It could be said to be extremely safe.

After the Mage stationed at the Waypoint logged my Name, I chose to return to the Rogue Encampment for a trip. Cain helped me so much, it's better to resolve his Matter/Thing first.

Before going to Cain's place, I first went to the Lar Family home. Sha La, who opened the door, saw it was me and happily hugged my neck, rubbing my Chin affectionately with her little Brain like a Little Dog. Honestly, in this primitive society with no Electrical Appliances or entertainment, I really don't know how Sha La spends her days. She must be very lonely, right? I stroked her soft waist-length hair. It wasn't until Aunt Shali came out that Little Shara jumped back as if startled, leaving my Body, her little face flushed red as she ran into the House. Hehe, she's really a shy Little Loli who just happens to like to Act Spoiled.

Half a month after I left, Lars and the others had already departed. This wasn't unexpected; with motivation, Lars had almost become a devilish Trial-goer. However, Aunt Shali then told me an unexpected decision. She and Lars planned to send Sha La to the North District to receive some Magic Training. Firstly, Sha La was quite bored staying at home all day. Secondly, even if Sha La couldn't get a Job Promotion to become a Class Changer in the future, she could at least master a certain amount of self-preservation Strength. If things went well, she could become a Mercenary and travel the world with me. Speaking of this, Aunt Shali was a little sad—if she also had enough Strength, she could stay by Lars's side day and night. Learning from her own lesson, she made this decision for Sha La.

And now, as Sha La's future Husband, Aunt Shali felt it necessary to inform me first. I didn't hesitate and immediately agreed to her decision. As a Class Changer, I understand the importance of Strength even more. I would rather Sha La become a Mercenary so she can sign a Mercenary Contract with me. With my Protection in the future, she will also be safer. Of course, having a Mercenary wife who can help fight and warm the bed, traveling the world and undergoing Trials will no longer be boring. This is undoubtedly a Matter/Thing that is very much worth my Expectation.
