Eighty-Sixth Chapter: Ghost Castle
Seeing the Blood Hawks continuously pouring in, I put away my Scepter and casually drew a Dagger with the Durability Restoration Attribute, quietly waiting for the Blood Hawks to surge forward.
The Blood Hawks were already close at hand. Without hesitation, I cast a Firestorm. With the increased Faster Cast Rate Stat, Firestorm was now almost Instant Cast. A raging Flame erupted from the ground. Due to the Crevice, it could only advance along a winding straight line, spreading out only after reaching the Opening outside. Wherever it passed, the Blood Hawks, not much stronger than Fallen, turned into Ashes. Roughly estimating, this Firestorm actually killed over a hundred Blood Hawks!
My heart was filled with joy. While wildly slaughtering the Blood Hawks squeezing in with the Dagger, after the Skill Cooldown, I cast another Firestorm. The area in front was instantly cleared. Seeing the Blood Hawks behind continue to surge in fearlessly, at this Speed, it wouldn't take long for me to wipe out this group of Blood Hawks.
Why not use Molten Boulder? Sweat... this place wasn't sturdy. If Molten Boulder exploded, the entire Crevice would collapse, and wouldn't I be the one out of luck? As for Polar Storm, everyone knows the Principle of thermal expansion and contraction. I was also afraid the Boulder couldn't withstand the stimulation and would collapse!
With Cain's Book and the bonus from the Gold Belt, my Mana now exceeded a hundred points. Although still not comparable to a Sorceress of the same Level, it was enough to make other Classes sweat in shame. However, this group of Blood Hawks was much larger than I had imagined. When my Mana value was only a quarter left, the Blood Hawks pouring in gradually decreased, and when it was about to run out, there were finally only two or three Kittens left.
"Ha..."
I stepped out of the Crevice, looked at the azure Sky, and took a deep breath. The taste inside the Crevice was not pleasant. The air was already very stuffy, coupled with the strange smell from the Blood Hawks' Bodies, if I stayed any longer, I would have suffocated.
There were still a few scattered Blood Hawks charging over from the opposite side. Light Snow , who had been suppressed for a long time, let out a Werewolf Howl and rushed towards them from behind me. The few Blood Hawks immediately became its outlet, torn into pieces. It seemed still unsatisfied, biting the Blood Hawk's Corpse and shaking it desperately, looking like a maniacal Corpse shredder. One could imagine how depressed it had been just now.
Whether in my vague memory or in Cain's Book, it was mentioned that these Blood Hawks are born from a Monster called Blood Hawk Nest. The relationship between the Blood Hawk Nest and the Blood Hawks is like that between a Queen Bee and Bees. The Blood Hawk Nest has no other ability except to produce Blood Hawks, while the Blood Hawks are Responsible for protecting the Blood Hawk Nest and providing it with Food.
When I returned to the place where the Blood Hawk group had just gathered, there was indeed a huge Blood Hawk Nest, over three meters high, firmly rooted in the Ground. Its blood-red Body constantly wriggled like a living organ, utterly disgusting. There was also an ugly large mouth on the side of its Body, occasionally spitting out a newborn Blood Hawk covered in mucus.
Upon closer inspection, this Blood Hawk Nest was actually an Elite Level Monster! Generally speaking, a Blood Hawk Nest can produce at most less than two thousand Blood Hawks. Any more, and the Blood Hawks would run away out of its control. If it weren't for this restriction, the entire Black Moor would probably be occupied by it.
And the Blood Hawk group I just killed had at least two thousand, or even three or four thousand. I was still puzzled, but now seeing this Elite Level Blood Hawk Nest, I had a Realization. Elite is indeed Elite, truly different. I wonder how many Blood Hawks a Minor Boss Level Blood Hawk Nest could produce? Just thinking about it made Cold Sweat break out. That would be an even more insidious and invincible Existence than Bishibosh, the Overlord of the Cold Plains!
As for the Extra Fast Attribute, I was initially confused. The Blood Hawk Nest couldn't move, so what was the use of this Attribute? But after seeing it spit out a Blood Hawk every ten seconds or so, I immediately understood. Sweat, it really was a unique manifestation. Nature truly has everything imaginable.
The Blood Hawk Nest itself has no Attack Power and cannot move. Without its Guarding Blood Hawks, it is just a simple meat target. Even so, I had to Hack at it for quite a while to kill it. Damn, its Health was almost comparable to a Mini-Boss.
When cleaning up the Battlefield, this Elite Level Blood Hawk Nest gave me an unexpected surprise. It actually dropped a Ring.
Azure Greed Ring
Cold Resistance +10%
30% Extra Gold from Monsters
Good Stats, much better than the Bronze Ring I was wearing with +11 Accuracy. There happened to be an empty slot on the Ring finger, so with this, my full set of Equipment was complete.
And those few thousand Blood Hawks also dropped a lot of Gold Coins and Potions, densely covering the Crevice, shining with golden Glow like a treasure trove. It was a pity there wasn't a single piece of Equipment.
Having tasted sweetness once, I immediately began searching for the next Blood Hawk group. Unfortunately, although the Black Moor is large, I couldn't find another one after that. There were quite a few Adventurers with the same Idea as me. In a situation where there were many monks and little porridge, being able to encounter the first Blood Hawk group was already like knocking on a wooden fish for eight lifetimes.
Although I didn't find a Blood Hawk group, I killed quite a few Monsters along the way. In addition, I also encountered several waves of Adventurers. Since we weren't familiar with each other, we just exchanged greetings, chatted a bit, and exchanged Information. However, seeing their surprised Gaze when they saw me, I knew that when they returned, the name Lone Druid Wu Fan would become even more famous.
On the fifth day, after turning a Blade Demon Camp into Ashes, a flash of Light finally appeared on my Body, and I leveled up to Level 14. I checked my Stats, including the bonuses from Equipment. Currently, they were:
Strength 23
Dexterity 25
Vitality 65
Energy 38
Remaining Points 18 points, Life 240, Mana 111, Fire Resistance 25, Cold Resistance 10, Lightning Resistance 53, Poison Resistance 36 (These Stat Values are the current state with Equipment; some values will change with Equipment replacement, and Defense Rating, which has the highest chance of change, is not listed)
Sweat, my Energy value actually far exceeded Strength and Dexterity. I estimate that I'm the only one with such unique Stats. After careful consideration, I allocated the remaining 18 points. I added 5 points to Dexterity and the rest to Strength. This way, if I Shapeshifted into Werebear Form, my Strength would reach 58 points, not much different from a Barbarian of the same Level. Even if I Shapeshifted into Werewolf Transformation, my Strength would be 42 points, and Dexterity would increase to 35 points.
The overpowered Great Cleaver with a Strength Requirement of 40 and Attack Damage of 4- dropped when I killed Rakanishu last time could now be used after Shapeshifting. At that time, if I Shapeshifted into Werebear Form, I would become a super tank combining Attack Damage, Defense, and Life. If I Shapeshifted into Werewolf Transformation, I would be more like an Assassin with high Attack Speed, but with several times more Life and Defense.
Along the way, I tried Shapeshifting into Werebear Form and equipping the Great Cleaver. My Damage instantly surged. The strongest Night Tribe in the Black Moor could be taken down in about 4-10 Normal Attacks. In terms of Normal Attack alone, even a Barbarian several Levels higher than me would be inferior.
A few days later, I finally arrived at the most legendary place in the Black Moor, which was the Castle mentioned in Cain's Book. The Castle was located on a large mountain, surrounded by steep cliffs and sheer drops. There was only a narrow path leading directly to the Castle's Door. Looking from afar, it seemed to stand in the Sky, extremely majestic. But upon closer Approach, the broken Walls were crumbling, the rusted Iron Gate swayed in the wind, and the originally exquisite cobblestone path was overgrown with withered yellow weeds. Eroded by the power of Hell, the Large Trees around had long since died. Coupled with the Ghost-like ancient Castle, the occasional White Bones exposed in the rotten Dirt, and the cold breeze blowing in the evening, it felt just like the vampire Castles seen in TV shows and novels, only missing...
Lazy Crow seemed to sense what I was thinking. It flapped its wings "plop plop" and landed on a dead tree branch, cawing a few times "caw caw", then proudly preened its feathers.
"Uh..."
The sudden crowing made me almost stumble and fall. A spine-chilling Feeling spread throughout my Body, as if the lonely Souls and Ghosts around were about to emerge from the ground. After a while, still shaken, I glared fiercely at that damned Raven, wishing I could smash it down with a Stone and stew it into Soup – that damned Raven, didn't you see your Master trembling? How dare you play such a prank? Why aren't you so mischievous during Battle?
Stepping through the Castle's Door, I walked along the cobblestone path that was almost completely covered by weeds. The Tower in the center of the Castle stood tall, looking particularly conspicuous, as if summoning all who came – the Countess was inside.
However, my current purpose was not the Tower. After carefully examining the Surroundings, I walked towards a tall stone building on the right side of the Castle.
