"MISHA STOP THIS AT ONCE!" Kaida commanded the large wolf.
She was biting down hard on Firion's arm and hand after he grabbed Kaida by the neck! The wolf was not going to forgive this man that easily! She loosened her bite, but refused to let go!
Firion was trying to pry his hand from Misha's mouth, which he might have been able to do if he was not heavily injured!
She continued to growl at Firion but Kaida suddenly put her hand on Misha's muzzle and rubbed her snout, "I'm okay...Misha..." her voice was noticeably hoarse from having her throat seized.
"Let him go now, please don't make me say it again." Kaida said with a stern disposition. The wolf still hesitated but she respected her friend too much to go against her wishes and finally released Firion's hand.
Fortunately the wolf did not maul his hand too badly, and given her large size she very well could have. But the only thing that mattered to Kaida right now was treating his new injuries.
"I am sorry that she bit you, but please forgive her as she was only defending me. Now let's get this disinfected and bandaged for you." which she stated with a warm demeanor.
While his hand was sore and bleeding, the large elf was silent, despite threatening this girl who appears to be a demon from an opposing tribe, she still insists on trying to help him, which he could not understand.
"Why?" he snarled. "I was violent with you just now. Why are you still helping me instead of just letting your wolf devour me?" His expression was confusion and clear anger.
Kaida was silent as she washed his bloodied hand with cool water, and then started applying an astringent.
Then she finally spoke, "You were scary, but I don't think you were trying to kill me. I don't know what a demon is, but from your words it sounds like demons caused you a lot of pain and turmoil. But I will say this: I am not a demon who is after your life, I am only a girl who is trying to save someone who was dying."
That single statement finally made the elf realize that his actions were a horrible thing to do to someone, who has been only helping him, which made his heart heavy with guilt.
Firion appeared indifferent from the bed, he didn't say anything, nor did he even respond to Kaida bandaging his hand, other than noticing how delicate she was with him.
But then finally he mumbled something in a low voice, "...sorry...I am sorry for hurting you....." without batting an eye.
Kaida paused for a moment and gently smiled at him, even if he could not see it, she was happy he acknowledged the mistake he made and the pain he caused her.
Not only that but the horns on her head provided her with a 6th sense to feel the emotions of others. This energy field can let her decipher what someone is truly feeling, this is also why Kaida still chooses to help Firion.
She can sense his emotions as honest rather than evasive. Firion had a similar disposition.
Being an elf, he has lived for an extraordinary long time and his large ears can hear every heartbeat and pulse within a large vicinity. So he can naturally tell when someone is being dishonest.
He sensed no deception of any kind from Kaida, who had a steady and confident heartbeat with every word she spoke. However he could not shake off a feeling of uneasiness he got from being around her.
"Finished!" she said in an upbeat tone "Alright, let's just try and sleep for now. Don't worry about my bed, Firion! It's okay if you use it! I will sleep on the floor! It's alright!"
But he didn't say anything, he just lied back down and turned away from Kaida and Misha who set up a blanket on the floor nearby as she cuddled up with the giant wolf and glanced at Firion who had his back turned to her.
"Goodnight Firion!" she said cheerfully, but as she started to close her eyes she heard a subtle "..goodnight..." from Firion.
Which made her smile with happiness.
