Chapter 23 - Chapter 23: The Truth About Dinner and a New Threat

"Let go! Let me go! I'm going to the Truth Award site to prove that I'm the world's best scientist!" Dr. Animo shouted, sounding as if he had lost his mind.

"I'm sorry, Animo. What awaits you is a prison sentence." After calming Dr. Animo down, Ryan unhesitatingly removed the genetic alteration device from his head and threw the dangerous contraption to the ground. He stomped on it, smashing its components.

"No!" Dr. Animo stretched out his arms and weakly grasped at the destroyed device. He let out a pained, pig-like cry.

In the distance, the Triceratops, the large parrot, and both Tyrannosaurus rexes began to shrink or revert to mere skeletons. From the moment Dr. Animo launched a giant creature to attack the supermarket and used ancient creatures to set traps to harm Ryan and the others, he was destined to face the consequences.

Wooooooo~

The sound of sirens wailed in the distance.

"Okay, Grandpa, please hand him over to the police." Ryan pointed to the police officers entering through the door.

"What are you doing?"

"Old man, please let go of your hands." Several police officers rushed toward Max, mistaking him for a robber. They approached him as if he were an enemy. Max quickly raised his hands. After some explanation, coupled with the fact that Dr. Animo was already a wanted criminal, the misunderstanding was cleared. What Dr. Animo had done was truly terrible.

"How did you manage to deal with those big monsters?" a police officer asked curiously while escorting Dr. Animo away.

Max proudly pointed to Gwen, Ben, and Ryan behind him. "My grandchildren dealt with him."

"Haha, you must be joking." The officers scoffed and glanced at Ryan and the others disbelievingly.

"You idiots! What he said is true! If you don't believe me, grab his hand, slap that watch, and he'll turn into a monster with four arms!" Dr. Animo's face contorted even though he was handcuffed, and he continued to shout.

"Hey, Animo, we originally planned to put you in a supermax prison, but now we're considering putting you in a mental hospital!" Several escorts patted Dr. Animo on the back and spoke rudely to him. Dr. Animo suddenly looked as if he had eaten something foul. His teeth were clenched tightly, and his resentful eyes remained fixed on Ryan until he was led away.

"All right, with Animo gone, we should head off too," Ryan said, stretching lazily.

"Honestly, we had planned to go fishing tonight, but our plans got disrupted. Let's go tomorrow," Max sighed as he walked toward the old RV. "Come on. I bet you're hungry."

"Dinner." Ryan's mouth twitched. Eating Grandpa Max's dinner was much more terrifying than facing Frankenstein and Vilgax.

"No!" Gwen and Ben followed Ryan in despair. Ryan was the only one who dared to eat Grandpa's food.

Back in the old RV, everyone turned on the TV to watch the news while eating dinner. Gwen turned on the TV and tuned to the channel broadcasting the Truth Award ceremony live. With interest, she asked, "Who's the winner of the Truth Award this year?"

"Sure enough, you're a nerd for watching such a boring show." Ben picked up the remote control and quickly changed the channel.

"Hey, dummy, don't grab it!" Gwen reached out, just about to snatch the remote.

"Today's news broadcasts an alien incident..." At that moment, Ben had already changed the channel to a news program. He was immediately captivated by the report. Gwen no longer cared about the Truth Award. She stared at the TV, paying special attention to Ryan's affairs.

Is this actually news about me? Could my identity have been revealed? Ryan felt a knot in his stomach as he watched the TV closely.

However, the surveillance camera range wasn't enough, whether it was the supermarket or the museum. Although pictures of Four Arms were captured, they were very blurry. Then, the screen switched to interviews with ordinary people.

"I ran into a guy this morning who was on fire. I bet he's a UFO alien!"

"Yesterday, I met a man covered in diamonds..."

Without exception, these people were all individuals Ryan had saved! Their faces were filled with admiration, and their eyes sparkled with longing. They couldn't wait to see their hero again and had become his fans!

Many people watching the interviews on TV were dismissive, but these rescued individuals knew in their hearts that they had all become devoted fans of Ryan. To be precise, they were die-hard fans of Heatblast, Four Arms, and his other forms.

"Ryan, I didn't expect you to be famous on TV," Gwen said enviously.

Ben added excitedly, "If they knew all those alien heroes were just Ryan, they'd rush to interview him!"

"Forget it. I prefer being a low-key hero to these illusory names," said Ryan, shaking his head indifferently. He didn't care about that. Compared to fame, he cared more about where to go fishing the next day.

After asking his grandfather where they were going, Ryan borrowed Gwen's laptop and searched the location casually.

Huh?

The first news result was: "Is there a water monster in the lake at this fishing spot?"

"There's definitely no such thing as a water monster, so don't worry," said Gwen, who was nearby, with a smile when she saw the laptop screen.

"Well, I think it's fake too," Ryan replied absentmindedly while keeping a sharp eye on the darkness.
