Chapter 12 - More Skills

Now I gotta walk around barefoot," Omar said angrily.

"You get instant slashes like Sukuna, and I get fucked-up clothes? And you said I could be overpowered?"

He looked at me like it was my fault.

"We're all level one. What the fuck were you expecting? To send the world into an ice age or make hell on earth?" I yelled.

"We're level one—not 100, not 1000. You gotta kill monsters and level up to get more skills, dumbass."

Before Omar could respond, Joe cut in.

"While you two are arguing, I'm gonna test out my skills," he said, walking past us to the middle for some reason even though his skill had armor in the name and probably wasn't dangerous.

"All right, here we go." He shook his shoulders like that was gonna help loosen him up.

"Fusion Armor."

None of us saw anything, but based on Joe's reaction, it was bigger than we thought.

"I feel so weird," he said, waving his arms around. He started walking toward us, and his footsteps cracked the concrete. He looked down, then back up, not saying anything, just smiling.

"What does it feel like?" I asked.

He went quiet for a second, probably trying to find a way to describe it.

"You ever see those steel cables that hold up bridges? How tight they look? My entire body feels like that—like those cables—but without the tension. And I feel amazing."

Suddenly, out of nowhere, he gasped like something hit him.

"It's gone," he said slowly. "But now I feel so weak—like I'm fragile again. That's dangerous."

"A feeling I could get addicted to for sure. I'm not using it again."

I get it. His body must've felt stronger, tougher—like nothing could hurt him. Must've been like becoming Superman for thirty seconds, standing under the sun, then going right back to human.

"Let's try the other one next," he said, walking over to Omar's leather boots stuck in the ground. He crouched down and touched one. I was confused, but I remember zoning out, not even fully hearing his second skill.

"Lepton Shift."

The boots just crumbled to dust.

"What the hell?" we all said at the same time.

"He's the guy from My Hero," Omar said.

"Do it again," Sito said.

Joe replied, "I can't. It costs 15 mana to cast, and I only have 30 total. Fusion Armor cost 5, so I only got 10 left."

"That's still insane, though," I said.

He stood up and walked over to us. We all looked at Sito.

"Would we even be able to see his skill?"

"No. We won't even know he manipulated time."

"What if Joe destroyed the other shoe and Sito used his skill right away?"

"Are you stupid? We still won't be able to see it or even know about it. If he's going back in time, we won't remember what happened in the future because we wouldn't have lived it yet."

"It was just a fucking question, damn. Not all of us went to college and got to study science and shit."

I laughed because he sounded ridiculous.

"It's not even about that. You're just stupid."

---

Sito POV

He might be right about them not seeing it, but I still wanna travel through time.

"Moment Mark," I whispered. The effect was instant and unnatural—not painful, just weird, like déjà vu as a physical sensation. The anchor felt like I still existed in that moment, 1.5 seconds in the past, like I was walking but one part of me stopped while the rest kept moving.

"Moment Mark," I whispered again, and nothing happened until I heard Aaron say:

"It's not even about that—you're just stupid."

I couldn't help myself—I just started laughing. It really worked. I just traveled back in time.

---

Aaron POV

We all froze and stared at Sito laughing.

"That joke wasn't even that funny for you to be laughing so hard," Omar said.

"It's not that," Joe said. "He just used his skill, didn't he?"

"I did," Sito replied. "I just traveled back in time." He started laughing again. "I just fucking time traveled," he said louder this time.

"So I got the worst skills," Omar said.

"Joe turns into an indestructible super soldier, you can cut space and have a gravity skill we haven't even seen, and Sito can fucking time travel."

"Your skills aren't bad, you just don't understand them," I said.

"Yeah, right, for sure, definitely." omar said sarcastically.

"Im going to find a guard to ask for new clothes and more shoes"

"Im ready to go to bed all that foods making me tired" joe said

"Im going back too" sito said

We all walked back into the castle and We all went our separate ways.

Omar disappeared down the hallway, mumbling something about finding a guard and getting his damn boots back.

Joe stretched and yawned like a bear coming out of hibernation.

"I'm gonna sleep like a king tonight."

Sito just smirked to himself as he walked off, still clearly thinking about that time travel.

I went to the showers, then my room, and went to sleep.
