The night market was a lively place , the loud music from some stalls, clubs and bars around which were all crowded with people , it was too crowded that ge kept bumping into people as he walked along the path to the stalls where clothes were being sold.
One thing about night markets is that everything is st a throw away price, it's too cheap than during the day but during rainy season or winter the price is always higher too high that only the rich can afford but during summer things are easier, the prices for everything is made for everyone that even the poorest person can afford every selling item in the market.
He walked through the crowd making sure to hold Charline's hand so as not to get separated in the crowd, finding a person un the crowd will be a pain in the ass and he never wanted to experience such a trivial matter that could be easily avoided by holding hands or hugging the person closer if one is afraid of letting the other go without there knowledge.
He spotted a stall selling female clothes that looked decent to him so he pulled Charline towards the seller, upon arriving he started checking if they were okay and had no problems since some sellers always sell torn clothes after checking and making sure everything was okay he looked for clothes that would suite Charline and she checked if the size was correct and if they were to her taste or if they needed some mending if they were bought. He also made her choose her clothes because he was not in fashion like most girls so he left her to take the clothes she needed , by the end he had many clothing bags so he left her to carry them whilst he carried some but not many, they needed to get back home so he could change before going for his night part time before he was late but before he left the market he bought food be it cooked or fresh food stuff so that when he was short of money he could be able to gave a meal atleast. They walked faster to the dormitory so as not to be caught by the security they had to pass through the blind spots this gave him the idea of just moving out, he knew he would be found out sooner or later this made him start looking for more part time work .
Carter cleaned up and dressed in nice clothes , he also took off his glasses because his face is what is used for selling or else they would never have customers especially the female once since they always come for the handsome face which they liked hence ordering drinks at the bar without worry about money even if they are left with nothing in there pockets. He just smiled at the thought after all he is just a bar tender even if the pay is not good it's enough for him to live on for more than a week and it provides for most of his necessity.
He looked at the girl sitting at the chair and asked her to sleep since he needed to work at that moment but she followed him up close making him give her a side glance with a questioning looked but she was too stubborn to listen to him so he let her follow him to work even though ge never knew what he would do with her or in whose care he was supposed to leave her because most of his colleagues are packed just as him during working hours.
He called gis boss , that sly fox likes anything pretty be it a girl or s boy ge never cared so he would leave the trouble for him he could deal with all the sassyness he would be shown since he liked people or objects he could never get his hands on to him it is a challenge that he wins in the end but this time Carter wanted to watch him chase w girl like a headless chicken but not have a taste of what he wants.
" Boss can you help me with something very important, you see I have a cousin who I can't leave at home so I will be bringing her to the work place , don't worry she isn't trouble she is always as quiet as a grave and she can help if work is piled up the most important thing is she is pretty more than those celestials you dream about which might bring more men to our store making more customers appear, how about it do you agree? " He started speaking and giving praises hoping Kevin the thirty year old man would fall for it quickly so that he can stop running his mouth.
" Okay,okay bring her along I will be the one to check how breath taking your dearest cousin is and if I find out that you lied to me , I will deduct your salary and if it's true I might note the might increase your salary," he chuckled softly as if he were a fiend he knew that whenever his boss says that he might there won't be any money available no increase at all that's how stingy he is but that never worries him he had enough salary furthermore if Charline finds a job there their won't be a need to worry about money and he also needed to register Charline to sit for both grade twelve and high school examination at the same time.
Upon arrival at the bustling bar with many people drinking or dancing with there partners some making out in the dark corridors and well an accessing boss waiting for his next prey at the counter and his eyes lit up like the neon lights on the streets upon seeing Charline and the smile he gave them was not the business like smile he used on most occasions or the flirting smile he used on his preys to lure them to bed but the one they received was a sincere one the sincerest he ever had.
Ge happiness that he could not contain as if he had seen another money making machine for him , yes that look Carter knew it too well and could not describe it but one thing he knew when his boss got a person with an appearance that could lure one to hell was that he always drooled, he tried containing it but one xan always see drool from the corner of his lips .
" So this is your cousin, your family genes are top notch , I'm so jealous right now why can't I have such looks and it was given to a person like you who rejected everyone in this bar making most ladies want you more, what a waste of looks you should use them to your advantage well I hope she can help with that." He looked like someone who had found a fine piece of art at an auction house but could never get it or even lift a finger to touch it .
" Stop complaining about your appearance when you already have a line of girls wanting a taste of you and you didn't lift a finger to get them anyway, I wish I could have recorded you complaining about your appearance I'm sure your old man would come here running to give you a taste of that cane he always carries around after all his genes are what made you that handsome and you are still running your mouth, so he would mend it easily with just a cane ." Carter saw the man infront of him shiver upon hearing the word cane wnd his old man.
" Go work and don't mention my father's name or call him an old man because it's me who gets the end of the stick later , he would say that I'm the one who taught such a good child to disrespect his elders , imaginating it makes me want to run away from you and him at the same time. You really know how to scare me so run off and do your job or else I'll deduct your salary." Carter ran off towards the locker room as he stuck out his tongue because he knew his salary wouldn't be deducted but added wnd if not he'll just go and compliment more like flatter the father and complain about the son and money will come flowing his way , he truly was a lucky jerk sometimes.
He kept his phone and the bag he had carried inside the locker qnd went out where he found Aileen looking at him as if he had heard some juicy gossip and was just waiting for confirmation. " Is that your girlfriend lucky bastard , today many women's hearts had been broken I saw some crying at a corner and in the alley behind the bar saying how the vixen charmed you with her looks and how even competing with her was like competing with the moon. "
They looked so bitter as if they are going to chew the vixen so where is she? I also want to see who took your cold heart and spread some warmth in it at least towards her." She looked around as if Charline was some new antique to be assessed making him have a little headache.
Well doll or should I call you princess search where the boss is and you will see her." He massaged his head as he walked away.
" The fuck w..wh... what ." She said as she covered her mouth as if she had seen something frightening.
He looked at that direction and his mouth dropped open it really was a sight frightening indeed.
