"Where is he?" Alpha King Mitch asked as the maid returned alone.
He had asked her to fetch the Omega for him, after their time together he was unsure on how to treat him or act towards him.
He hasn't had any partner stay around after sex.
He would always discard them, but he couldn't this time.
And that made him nervous and unsure.
"He said he would have his lunch in his room" She replied carefully as she watched the Alpha's expression morphed into anger.
"Is he avoiding me?" He asked and the maid's eyes widened in horror.
"No, he…he -just…" she stumbled on words helplessly and could only give up after a few stutters and looked down nervously.
Alpha Mitch fist tightened around the glass of water he held and shattered it under the pressure of his grip.
His eyes looked down at his hand as blood slowly streamed out of the cuts from the broken glass but he didn't even feel a thing.
The maid hurried to clean up the mess but Alpha Mitch simply walked away.
He went to the solitary of his study and sat down heavily. He watched his hand as his skin slowly covered the wound, healing under a few minutes.
He rubbed on the left side of his chest as a sudden painful tug made it hard to think straight.
"What's wrong with me?" He thought, and groaned painfully putting his head down on the table.
"Good afternoon Alpha" Gale greeted with a mischievous grin after walking inside his study but did not notice what was wrong with the Alpha.
Alpha Mitch remained silent and kept his head suspended. His breathing came in shaky intakes.
"Are you alright?
Well, you shouldn't have drank last night
You rarely get drunk anyways, so why do it?" Gale continued but instead of a response. Alpha Mitch let out another groan, louder this time and full of pain.
His face contorted and he pushed his chair back to stand up but he fell to the ground without a warning.
Gale watched it happen in slow motion, his eyes widened and he rushed over to catch him.
"Alpha!" He screamed as Alpha Mitch hit the ground before he could catch him.
Gale called for help and in no time the Alpha was moved away to get treated after the doctor arrived. Gale and two other men that moved him inside the room stood around the bed with baited breath as the doctor attended to the Alpha.
Gale's panic increased as each second passed without any sign of the Alpha king waking up.
"What happened to him?
He was fine, he was okay!" He muttered under his breath as it was a very unusual sight. A weakened Alpha is a threat to a pack and he could already tell how dangerous it would be if the situation gets out to enemies. Rumors will spread and they will be fighting against so many things at a time. From rogues to past enemies and even rebellions from pack members since they've been waiting for his downfall all these while.
"What is going on?" He asked the doctor in a nervous and urgent voice.
"I'm still attending to him" He replied and that was it for the next ten minutes until Alpha King Mitch coughed suddenly.
A look of relief crossed everyone's face and they waited for him to return to his senses but he instead closed his eyes and did not open them again.
"The Alpha has no physical ailment, I would say he should be allowed to rest." The doctor instructed and Gale looked at him like he was spewing pure gibberish.
Rest? He thought with disbelief.
While all that was happening in the mansion, Tristan was in his room sobbing under the covers.
He has no idea when it got to that extent.
He was supposed to be glad if the Alpha sends him away, maybe that will make his step father give up and find his sister instead. And he would achieve his dreams and live his life fully irrespective of what others think of him.
But he was suddenly filled with sadness and could not stop crying.
His maid sat beside him, her heart torn as she could do nothing but watch.
The food she had brought for him was now stone cold.
She wished she could console him and she tried her best but he wasn't yielding. And she was relieved when the sobs gradually stopped and he went quiet.
She pulled down the covers to see his tears stained face, puffy nose and red eyes as he slept peacefully. I'm just a few hours after and has changed drastically.
She sighed, tucked him in and went away with the cold food.
Tristan opened his eyes when the door shut after she left.
He stared blankly ahead and wished the heartache would ease somehow. He had not thought things would be like this.
He thought the Alpha won't even care a bit about him but he was wrong.
Another thing about being an Omega that sometimes made him hate himself was the inability to regulate his feelings and emotions
He gets attached to those that showed him some kindness and cries his eyes out if he gets bullied.
He wished he could stop it or atleast still his heart.
But that seemed to be out of his control.
He slept off after a while and woke up when the sky had darkened.
His stomach grumbled audibly prompting him to sit up and looked around.
He noticed the smell of food coming from the corner opposite the door, he stood out of the bed and walked gingerly towards it as he swayed from extreme hunger and too much sleep.
He had slept for the whole day and cried in between.
Now, nothing seemed promising than a plate of warm food.
The spaghetti carbonara and meatballs with a glass of cold juice was a welcomed treat and he ate slowly till he was done with the entire plate.
He climbed back into the bed and noticed how empty and hollow he felt despite just eating a whole meal.
He doesn't even want to see me.
He thought somberly.
