Chapter 10 - Chapter 10

Luna Davenhart developed the love to shop and keep her wardrobe updated when she started hanging out with her friend. When they went out to shop, they made sure they had enough books and were keeping up with fashion. She hadn't been able to do that in a while. They had planned to go on one before she came, but it was interrupted due to her friend's schedule.

They reached the mall in Zoe Grant's car. Since her car was a high-profile one and also it would be easy for Zoe to return to her home, she wouldn't have to bother to change the car.

"That shop over there is where my favorite designer is. The designs over there are just mind-blowing," Zoe explained while she dragged Luna there.

Just as they entered, a man with a pretty great physique approached them.

"Lovely to meet you again, sweetheart," he said.

"Thank you, Gusto. Miss Davenhart, this is Gusto—my favorite designer. He's Italian and his dresses and accessories are the best," she exclaimed. It was obvious that the trust she had in him wasn't small. Luna could see her eyes glimmering.

"So what do you need tonight? Any parties for both you young ladies?" Gusto questioned. Even though he had all sorts of clothing—casual and formal—he seemed to specialize in designing party wear.

"Well, we need a lot of other things too, but yes, we need an evening dress each," she said. Luna realized pretty late that she was a heiress too. Even if she wasn't from the most powerful family, she belonged to one of the most powerful families. But she liked to keep her profile low and gain attention on her own rather than because she was a heiress—and she loved that about herself.

"I don't think I would need an evening dress. I mean, after all, I don't see any chance to wear it," she said in a matter-of-fact tone. After all, barely did the people who should invite her know she was breathing.

"Sweetie, having an evening dress would never hurt you. Trust me, you'll have the need to use it soon enough. This is a designer's instinct," he said. She realized that what he said was true—it wouldn't hurt her to own a dress.

"Fine, proceed with it." Just as those words left her mouth, his assistants started measuring her.

"You can check out the things you want; as for the dresses, I'll send them once they're ready," he replied as his assistants finished.

They finished their work there, even if it took a bit of time. All that they wanted to purchase was available there alone.

"I have never just purchased from a shop alone. I used to go to thousands of shops before I was satisfied," Luna said. She had thought that's where the joy lies. And it seemed she was terribly mistaken. She would definitely pay Gusto another visit once Amelia Franklin arrived.

"Well, that's why we say, things do change. So we can return, right? I'm sure you got all that you needed," Zoe replied. After all, she was sure there wasn't a thing they could've missed back at Gusto's.

"There is one thing that your Gusto can't give us. And I can't live without it," Luna replied. She had never ended her shopping without getting at the very least a book.

"I'm feeling like you just spoke riddles. Please make it a bit more clear," Zoe said.

"Books. I can't live without them. Let's go get some," she said and started walking in the direction she hoped a bookstore was in.

"Well, I don't think you are going in the right direction," Zoe pointed out and led her in the right direction.

On their way to the bookstore, Luna noticed a shop for perfumes. They seemed to be specially made. Even if she wasn't someone who wore them often, something told her to check it out.

"Can we go to that shop before we get to the bookstore? I just want to check it out," Luna expressed her wish.

"Oh, that store really has some special features which are indeed cool. I too want to check it out now that you say. Let's go."

They both entered the store, and there was a whiff of fragrance in every nook and corner.

"How may I assist you?" an attendant asked them just as they entered.

"We would love to check it out here," Zoe said. Even if she had wanted to come here, she had no idea what to do.

"Well ma'am, over there we have our special collections. There are exquisite fragrances there. You can even custom-create or use the ones already prepared by customers. That's one of our special features," the attendant said. Luna wanted to check it out—as if something else was pulling her there.

"Please take us over there. We would love to check it out," Luna said.

They reached over there, and indeed that section seemed special, just by its look.

The assistant there showed her various fragrances, but none appealed to her.

"Is there any special fragrance you like? Maybe jasmine?" the attendant asked. Nothing he showed seemed to be liked by his customer.

"Well, I do like dianthus and lavender," Luna said. Even though she had never thought about it before, she realized she did like these flowers.

"You're lucky, ma'am. There's actually a mixture of both available," he said and immediately got it for her. He heaved a sigh of relief as he found something for her.

"Ma'am, try this." He let her get a sniff of it. "The name of it is *Aella.* Do you like it?" he asked hopefully.

There was something so familiar with the scent, but she couldn't place it.

"I love it. Pack this," she said. She was sure of it. The fragrance seemed to hold some memory for her. Just as she expressed her willingness, he billed it.

"Ma'am, it costs 4 million," he said as he passed it to her.

"Isn't it too much?" Zoe questioned. No matter what, it seemed extremely unreasonable to pay so much for a perfume.

"Ma'am, this was made by another premium customer. It isn't easily available either," he explained.

Even if Luna felt that Zoe was right, she couldn't let this one go somehow.

"It's fine. I'll pay," she replied, surprising Zoe. She didn't want to give up on this. And when she made up her mind, there was no going back.
