Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: The IP Incubation Strategy, and the Birth of a Theme Park (Data Request)

After leaving the research facility, Shō Unkai waved off Rinna and the others, choosing to explore the upper floors alone.

Once he was sure no one was following, he opened the System's Talent Panel.

It was time to establish a pharmaceutical company.

The medicines developed by the institute—especially the weight-loss and breast-enhancement formulas—were destined for a massive market. We're talking hundreds of billions, and in US dollars no less.

With such an enormous demand and such potent effects, he couldn't leave production in just anyone's hands.

Production needed to be managed by someone loyal.

And no one was more loyal than System-recruited personnel.

"System, recruit three elite talents in corporate management, ten in marketing, and eighty-seven in warehousing and production line management."

DING, the System chimed.

[Recruitment complete. Congratulations, Host. 100 new talents acquired.]

In a flash of radiant light, a hundred people appeared in the hallway before him.

After a quick round of introductions, Unkai appointed one of the corporate elites—a man named Ryūrin—as the CEO of his new company: Jimin Pharmaceuticals.

He'd already asked Rinna to register the business ahead of time.

Registered capital: 100 million Han-yuan.

Taking out his phone, Unkai dialed.

"Rinna, come upstairs."

When she arrived, he introduced her to Ryūrin and gave clear instructions.

"From now on, Ryūrin has the same rank as Gentei and Kanpō. He'll report directly to you."

With that settled, Unkai personally escorted Ryūrin to the research facility.

"Director Gentei, this is Ryūrin, the new CEO of Jimin Pharmaceuticals. From now on, your institute will focus on R&D. Production will be handled by his team."

Ryūrin smiled and extended his hand. "Pleasure to meet you, Director Gentei. I look forward to working together."

"No need for formalities, Mr. Ryūrin. We're both serving His Highness," Gentei replied warmly.

"Exactly," Ryūrin agreed. "Still, I'll be relying on your expertise quite a bit."

Seeing the two hit it off, Unkai smiled.

"You'll have plenty of time to bond later. Director, hand over the production specs and formulas for the weight-loss pill to Ryūrin."

"Ryūrin, make a full list of required materials and equipment. Whatever you need, talk to Rinna. She'll handle it."

"Yes, sir," Ryūrin answered crisply.

With everything in motion, Unkai didn't linger.

Next stop: the DreamChase Animation Studios on the upper floors.

He checked on the progress of White Snake: Origins, and was pleased to learn the animated film would be completed within the month.

Accompanied by Kanpō, he toured the production process.

It was nothing like the old days of 3D modeling with software like 3ds Max or Maya.

Instead, they used a next-gen AI system from the future.

It could generate detailed character models in under a minute—something that used to take a week or more.

Even texture mapping was handled by AI, requiring only a few key prompts to generate fully designed characters and scenes in seconds.

As for animation, they used futuristic motion-capture gear and software that far surpassed anything from this era.

DreamChase's tech stack was decades ahead of its time.

While relaxing on the return trip to the palace, eyes closed in the backseat, Unkai suddenly spoke.

"Contact Li Yō. Ask how the acquisition of Ryūgoku's entertainment websites is progressing. Have we secured the full rights to Zhu Xian and Tomb Raiders yet?"

"Yes, right away," Rinna replied from the front seat.

She pulled out her phone and called.

"Hello, Mr. Li? Yes, this is Rinna. Understood. I'll report to His Highness immediately."

Hanging up, she turned back.

"Your Highness, Mr. Li said we've secured full IP rights to both Zhu Xian and the Tomb Raiders series. We've also completed the acquisition of Jingjiang.com. They're currently wrapping up final negotiations with Shengda, and it's going smoothly."

"Mmm."

A slight smile formed on Unkai's lips.

With those IPs locked in, his tourism strategy could now go live.

"Take this down," he instructed.

"First, issue a public tender. Oasis Investments will be investing $1 billion to turn Bangi Island into the 'Phuket and Bali of Shinhan.' We're inviting global architects and contractors to submit proposals."

"Second, reach out to Disney. Start discussions on building a Disneyland in Chang'an."

While he personally didn't care much for Disneyland, its brand appeal was undeniable. Children and young adults adored it.

In his past life, the Shanghai Disneyland had become a sensation—tickets were almost impossible to get, and scalpers ran rampant.

Since Shinhan aimed to develop tourism, bringing in a Disneyland could only boost its allure. After all, there wasn't a single Disney park in Southeast Asia.

If you lacked historical sites, then create artificial attractions.

The System would refund points for spending money anyway.

With oil and pharma industries as economic pillars, he had more than enough fuel to power his grand strategy.

"Third, contact Director Hayashi at DreamChase. Begin planning a live-action film series based on Zhu Xian. I want top-tier production value, especially in special effects. This has to be a breakout hit."

"If we can't find the right actors, hold a global casting call. Reach out to all major Ryūgoku entertainment agencies."

Once the films were done, they could market the Zhu Xian theme park alongside the release. Movies, TV series, anime, merchandise—it would all feed into a single IP ecosystem.

If you couldn't innovate, copy Disney's playbook.

At the very least, follow their formula for success.

Rinna took out her pocket notebook and began scribbling rapidly.
