Chapter 47 - Chapter 44 – Celebration of the Spirit Flame

News of Jon's survival and heroics spread throughout the village. The corrupted beast had nearly wiped out three smaller settlements if not for Jon's intervention. To honor his bravery, the village elders and Great Spirit Dryas declared a ceremonial festival: The Celebration of the Spirit Flame.

Elder Syldora, the Elf, spoke before the gathered Spiritfolk in the village square.

Syldora:

"Today, we honor a soul not born of our kin, but one who bled for our people. Jon Snow—defender of life, bearer of the Eight-Tailed Spirit."

Jon, still bandaged but standing tall, was brought before the villagers. Asha and Satsuki stood proudly at his sides, each wearing elegant formal robes—Asha in soft white and green to match her heritage, and Satsuki in her signature violet kimono, accented with silvery flower pins.

Jon bowed deeply before the elders, then addressed the crowd.

Jon:

"I didn't protect this village for glory. I did it because this place… you people… are my home now. And I swear, as long as I draw breath, I'll protect it again."

The villagers erupted in cheers. Spirit dancers began their movements under glowing lanterns. Music echoed through the trees.

Later that night, under a sacred blossom tree, Jon sat between Asha and Satsuki. The moonlight cast a silver glow on their faces. Asha leaned against his shoulder, hand resting over her belly. Satsuki, for once, allowed herself to relax, her head tilted toward Jon, her tail flicking softly behind her.

Asha (softly):

"Do you feel it, Jon? The baby's kicking again."

Satsuki:

"You'll be a father soon. Are you ready?"

Jon looked between them, then up at the night sky.

Jon (smiling):

"I don't know if I'm ready… but I'll be here. Always."

The three sat in silence, watching the spirit lights drift around them. A family forged not by blood or fate, but by choice, pain, and love.
