Chapter 5 - EPISODE 5 – ''SHADOWS OF LOSS, LIGHTS OF HOPE"

"Sometimes the heaviest burdens are eased not by forgetting, but by sharing the weight."

INT. SAFEHOUSE – EARLY EVENING

Rain hammers the roof in steady pulses, a relentless rhythm that mirrors the heavy silence inside. The group returns from their grim journey—faces pale, shoulders slumped, eyes hollow. Each step echoes the weight they carry.

SANA'S PARENTS, a middle-aged couple, steady and calm despite their own exhaustion, help guide the weary group inside. Their hands gentle on shoulders, their voices low but firm.

MR. KHAN(softly, reassuring)"We're here now. Together. That's what matters."

MRS. KHAN(smiling faintly)"Your parents loved you… and they wanted you to live. That love stays, even when they don't."

Sanaa watches as her parents move through the group, offering small touches and kind words. Slowly, some faces soften—though the ache remains.

INT. SAFEHOUSE COMMON ROOM – NIGHT

The group sits scattered, some on crates, others leaning against walls. The air is thick with unspoken grief.

BHARGAV stares at the floor, hands clenched. TANYA wipes away a tear quietly. AYUSH leans back against a crate, jaw tight, lost in thought.

Sanaa's parents sit side by side, holding hands, eyes full of a quiet strength. They glance at Sanaa, who's curled up on the floor, her face streaked with tears.

MRS. KHAN(softly)"Your pain is the heart's way of healing. It doesn't mean you're broken."

She reaches out, brushing a stray tear from Sanaa's cheek.

INT. SAFEHOUSE – LATER THAT NIGHT

Sanaa and Ananya sit near a small flickering lantern. Sanaa's voice is barely audible.

SANAA(whispering)"Sometimes I feel like I don't deserve this… that my parents living means I'm betraying everyone who lost theirs."

ANANYA(gently)"No one is betraying anyone. We all carry different scars. What matters is we carry them together."

They share a long look — silent understanding passing between them.

EXT. SAFEHOUSE – ROOFTOP – NIGHT

Ayush and Kartik stand overlooking the rain-soaked ruins of the city. Kartik's hands are in his pockets; Ayush's face is hard but thoughtful.

AYUSH"We lost so much… but we still have each other. That's our strength."

KARTIK(nods)"Tomorrow, we keep moving. We survive. We protect."
