Chapter 15 - Chapter 14: The Riftborn Prophecy

The Starship of Ashes sailed beyond the Fractured Worlds, its hull shimmering with the Hollow Sun's light. As they ventured deeper, the ley lines pulsed with a new resonance—a call that beckoned them toward a place beyond the known stars.

Vaelin adjusted her sensors, frowning. "I'm picking up readings I've never seen before. Like the echoes themselves are… warping."

Anaya's voice was hushed with wonder. "This is the Rift—the place where the echoes were born, and where they fracture anew."

Akira felt the Hollow Sun's light within him, guiding his thoughts. "The Conclave spoke of the First Echo. This… this is where it was forged."

🌠 Arrival at the Rift

The Rift appeared as a chasm of light and darkness, a tear in the fabric of the universe itself. Fragments of other worlds drifted through it—cities and mountains, temples and relics, all suspended in the void.

Anaya traced the ley lines with her fingers, her brow creased. "The echoes here are wild—untamed. They sing of creation and destruction, of endless cycles."

Akira closed his eyes, feeling the echoes brush against his mind like a thousand voices speaking at once. "This is where the prophecy begins."

🌌 The Riftborn Oracle

As they approached a floating citadel, a figure emerged from the shadows—a being of living starlight and ancient stone. His eyes were pools of eternity, and his voice echoed in the air.

"I am the Riftborn Oracle," he said, each word resonating with the power of the ley lines. "Keeper of the prophecy that binds the echoes to all that is."

Vaelin narrowed her eyes. "Prophecies can be twisted. What do you want from us?"

The Oracle regarded her calmly. "Not want—warn. The First Echo stirs once more. If it is claimed by shadow, all worlds will fall into the void."

🌠 The Prophecy's Echo

Akira stepped forward, the Hollow Sun's light merging with the Heart of the Mirror in his grasp. "Then what must we do?"

The Oracle's gaze turned to him. "The prophecy speaks of the Starborn—the one who walks the balance of echoes and mortal heart. You are that Seeker, Akira of Earth."

Anaya's eyes widened. "The Starborn… it's you."

Akira swallowed, the weight of it settling on his shoulders. "What is the path? How do we stop the First Echo from devouring everything?"

The Oracle raised a hand, weaving a pattern of starlight. "To forge the final balance, you must find the Shard of Infinity—an echo of creation itself. It lies within the Worldheart, hidden beyond the Nebulae of Memory."

🌌 A Warning of the Wraith

The Oracle's voice deepened, shadows dancing in his eyes. "But beware—the Wraith is not the only force that seeks the First Echo. Others stir in the darkness, drawn by the power of the echoes."

Vaelin's hand rested on the hilt of her sword. "Who? What are they?"

The Oracle's gaze turned to the void. "The Sorrowed Court—beings who feed on the echoes of dying worlds. They seek to reshape existence in their own image."

Akira clenched his fists. "Then we'll face them. We'll protect the echoes—and the worlds they touch."

🌠 A Gift and a Farewell

The Oracle reached out, a single shard of pure starlight forming in his hand. "Take this. The Starborn's Sigil. It will guide you to the Worldheart—and protect you from the madness of the echoes."

Akira accepted the shard, feeling its power resonate with his own. "Thank you. We'll honor the prophecy—and forge our own path."

The Oracle's light began to fade, his final words echoing in the ley lines. "Remember—balance is not the absence of darkness, but the light that endures in its shadow. Go, Starborn. The echoes await."

🌌 Beyond the Rift

As the citadel crumbled behind them, the Starship of Ashes turned its prow to the Nebulae of Memory—a vast expanse of swirling colors where the ley lines shimmered like living rainbows.

Anaya's eyes shone with determination. "The Worldheart… it's more than a relic. It's the source of all echoes. If we claim it, we can restore balance."

Vaelin smirked, her blade gleaming. "Then let's not waste time. Let's go show the Sorrowed Court what it means to stand against the Starborn."

Akira nodded, the Starborn's Sigil pulsing in his hand. "Together. For the echoes—and for all that lies beyond them."

🌠 The Journey Continues

As the ship disappeared into the Nebulae of Memory, the ley lines sang around them—a promise of trials yet to come, and the light that would endure beyond the void.
