Chapter 16 - Victor's Dirty Thoughts

Jake decided to return Mary's wallet tomorrow, when he would be picking her up at the apartment on the way to the office. He felt that was the best option. However, a small voice in his heart pushed him to go see Mary right now.

"Damn. Looks like I need to get ready for Boss Kody's scolding," he muttered while clicking his tongue, trying to convince himself that what he was doing was the right thing. After all, a wallet is something important, and it happened to belong to Mary.

Jake steered his car toward the Gold Fashion office, believing that his lady boss would still be there. But he was confused when the receptionist and security guard told him that Mary had left with Victor since lunchtime.

Jake tried calling both Mary and Victor, but neither answered.

"Alright then. I'll just give the wallet to her tomorrow," he mumbled, sounding sure of his decision. But once again, his inner voice refused to give up. For some reason, he really wanted to see Mary—even if it was just to return her wallet.

With his baby in tow, Jake finally drove toward Mary's apartment. The heavy rain, which seemed to blanket the entire city, once again tested Jake's patience. He had to stop a few times to feed Elsa.

By late afternoon, Jake finally parked his car in the parking area of Mary's apartment. Anxious about getting reprimanded by Kody—who had forbidden him from seeing Mary—Jake walked up until he stood in front of Mary's apartment door.

He rang the bell. One minute passed, then two, then five, but the door still didn't open. That made Jake think Mary probably hadn't returned yet, even though office hours were over.

"I better just go home."

Disappointed? Of course. After traveling so far, it all seemed like a waste. He began to turn around. But then he heard the door handle move.

"Who is it?" came a familiar male voice, though it clearly wasn't Kody. That made Jake quickly turn back toward the door.

"Oh, it's you. What are you doing here?" Victor asked coldly, a bit anxious after seeing Jake.

Jake was just as surprised to see Victor there—especially seeing him wearing nothing but a towel wrapped around his waist.

Jake's mind immediately flashed back to the first time he and Mary met. But this time, he couldn't afford to be careless or jump to conclusions.

"I could ask you the same, Mr. Victor. Why are you here? And why are you answering the door wearing only a towel? Where is Mrs. Mary? I have something I need to give her," Jake said firmly. There was no fear or hesitation in his voice, even though Victor was Kody's assistant.

"Why are you looking at me like that? And your question doesn't deserve an answer. You're in no position to ask what I'm doing here. My rank is higher than yours — you're just Boss Kody's driver, while I'm his assistant. Let me remind you of that again," Victor replied arrogantly, arms crossed.

"Ma'am is resting. Just tell me if you need anything. Boss Kody entrusted his wife to me, and you know that very well." Once again, Victor used Kody's name to pressure Jake. But it seemed he misjudged — Jake wasn't backing down.

"This is important. I can't tell you even if she was entrusted to you, Mr. Victor. Please, let me see Mrs. Mary, just for a moment. I won't stay long. I brought my baby with me," Jake insisted, his reasoning irrefutable and leaving Victor at a loss for words.

"I told you, Mrs. Mary is sleeping. Are you deaf?!" Victor snapped, clearly agitated.

"You leave me no choice, Mr. Victor," Jake responded, and then shouted, "Mrs. Mary, it's me, Jake!"

"Hey, what are you doing? You'll wake her up!" Victor shouted angrily, trying to push Jake away.

"Whoa, calm down. What's your problem, man? I'm just trying to wake her up because you refuse to call her for me. I came here for something important and to make sure she's okay," Jake said calmly.

"What do you think I've done to my boss's wife to make you suspicious? I remind you, I can have Boss Kody fire you today!" Victor threatened again, shouting, "Get out of my sight!"

Victor took a step back, about to close the door, but Jake sensed something was wrong and acted quickly. While holding Elsa, he kicked the door hard before it shut, causing Victor to fall backward onto the floor. His towel came undone, revealing something aroused, just like Jake's own.

"Sorry, but you were being suspicious. You forced me to do this… Ma'am?!" Jake's words trailed off when he spotted Mary sleeping on the couch, nearly half-naked.

He quickly put Elsa down on another sofa and rushed to Mary. "Ma'am, wake up! What happened to you?!" Jake tried to rouse her, but she seemed completely unconscious.

Victor, whose perversion had been exposed, got up in rage and ran toward Jake. "Bastard!" he cursed, kicking Jake hard and knocking him to the floor.

Not stopping there, Victor took advantage of Jake still being down and smashed Mary's large flower vase onto Jake's head. Blood poured from the wound. Jake lost consciousness.

"Die, you bastard!" Victor shouted, overwhelmed with hate. He threw on his clothes while still cursing Jake.

What had really happened: Victor had slipped a sedative into Mary's food during lunch after a private meeting at a restaurant he chose. Not long after eating, Mary developed a severe headache and asked Victor to take her home. The moment she arrived, she collapsed in his arms. Because Victor wasn't strong enough to carry her to the bedroom, he laid her down on the sofa.

After that... Mary had no idea that her upper body had been molested by Victor, who acted like a wild beast hungry for her flesh.

The foreplay had been enough to convince Victor that he would soon take everything from Mary. But just as he was ready—fully equipped and lubed to stay hard and last longer—Jake arrived and ruined everything.
