Last Chapter: Michelle glared at the phone. "The charade's over, Ollie!" she shouted. "Or should I say... Prototype?!"
The area went silent until they heard Ollie giggling; soon after, it turned into laughter, which scared the smaller toys. Soon after, the group heard a sigh. "You're a lot smarter than I thought," the Prototype said.
---
Most of the toys stared at the phone with widened eyes. "I thought I pulled that voice off very well," the Prototype continued. "Tell me, how did you find out it was me?"
Michelle looked at the phone. "I actually have you to thank for that," she said. "You see... I was suspicious about you when you pointed out the room under the statue and the Gas Production Zone while using Ollie's voice."
Michelle clenched her fists. "But what sealed the deal was when I escaped the Playhouse," she continued.
Michelle stepped to the side a bit. "When you were giving your speech about CatNap meeting the Prototype and that shrine in Ollie's voice, I thought to myself, 'How would a little kid know that kind of information?'" she said.
Michelle glared at the phone. "The one conclusion I came up with is that Ollie isn't who he really is," she continued. The Prototype laughed. "I'm impressed; you kept a cool head even after knowing my true identity," he said. "You found me out quicker than the others."
Poppy clung to the phone. "You... what did you do with Ollie?" she asked. "I'm right here, Poppy," the Prototype said in Ollie's voice. "For you, I'll ALWAYS be here."
Poppy gritted her teeth and looked at the phone. "The Doctor is dead, and those who used to work for you are on our side now. You... you have nothing now; no one. And soon, you'll have less than THAT," she said.
"Stop that; you don't need to pretend anymore, Poppy," the Prototype said. The group stared at the phone. "You don't need to play at being stronger than you are; you can come home," the Prototype continued.
Poppy closed her eyes. "How... how much do you know?" she asked. "Everything," the Prototype said. Poppy dropped the phone before stepping back. "This isn't right... all those years... was there ever an Ollie?" she asked.
"Yes, there was," the Prototype said. "But that was a very long time ago." Michelle glared at the phone. "Let me tell you what comes next," the Prototype continued. "I'm going to the barracks and I'm going to find you."
The toys looked around the area. "And the collaborators with you... will be dealt with," the Prototype said. Poppy was scared. "W-What are you going to do with me?" she asked.
"I've got something special in mind," the Prototype said. "I prepared it, just for you, and this one... you'll never want to leave." Poppy was mortified and turned away. "N-No..." she said, lowly. "No, no, no... this entire time..."
Poppy clenched her fists before turning to the phone. "This entire time, you've LIED to me!" she shouted. "Only because you've kept missing the point," the Prototype said. "After all that time, inside your case, I'd hoped you'd see things differently. Don't you understand?"
Michelle gritted her teeth and clenched her fists. "It's always been about you and me, Poppy; what we ARE," the Prototype continued. "That's not a truth that can be burnt away. No... not when it can mean so much more."
Poppy was shaking. "Prototype... p-please..." she said, lowly. "It's time to come home, Poppy..." the Prototype said. "It's time to come home."
Poppy started hyperventilating and backed away. "I-I can't..." she said, lowly. Michelle growled before approaching the phone and grabbing it. "She's not going anywhere with you, asshole?!" she shouted.
Poppy was shocked and looked at Michelle. "Home isn't a place; it's anywhere that people care about you, whether it's by blood or not," she continued. "Her home isn't with you; it's with us!" Poppy stared at Michelle with awe. "Misha..." she said, lowly.
"Is that so?" the Prototype asked rhetorically. "Speaking of people, I believe I've figured out your group's weakness." Michelle glared at the phone. "Oh yeah, and what's that?" she asked.
"Your group is like the human body," the Prototype said. "Poppy is the brain, Doey is the body, et cetera, et cetera..." Michelle growled a bit. "But you, Misha... you play an important part, too," the Prototype continued. "You're the body's heart..."
The group froze. "If I were to tear the heart out of the body... well, I think you get the idea..." the Prototype said. Michelle stared at the phone, mortified, until she heard beeping, which made her look up.
Soon after, Michelle spotted a mining charge on a shack while it flashed a red light. "By the way, I should thank you for finding those explosives for me," the Prototype said. "I'll put them to good use..."
Michelle's eyes widened as the charge's lights flashed faster. He outsmarted us, she thought as she let go of the phone. When the phone hit the ground, Michelle turned to the group. "Run?!" she shouted.
As the group ran, the charges blew up, which destroyed the shacks and rocks before they started falling. DogDay spotted a giant opening. "There's a large room over there?!" he shouted. "Move!"
The larger toys kept the smaller toys in one area as debris fell. Poppy turned her head to the back as she ran. How far will you go, Prototype? she thought.
Unbeknownst to Poppy, her right foot tripped on a small rock, which made her yell before falling on her stomach. As Poppy slowly sat up, she looked up and noticed a piece of red metal scrap falling toward her, which made her eyes widen.
Michelle picked her up and jumped out of the way before the scrap hit the ground. Michelle ran forward. "We can't stay in one place; we have to keep moving forward!" she shouted.
Michelle spotted Kissy Missy in the distance before looking at Poppy. "I'm sorry about this," she said. Poppy was confused as Michelle held the right arm up and readied it. "Kissy!" she shouted, which made Kissy Missy turn her head to her. "Catch?!"
Michelle threw Poppy toward Kissy Missy's direction, which made her scream a bit. Kissy Missy sprinted forward while following Poppy before catching her, which made Michelle smile. "Nice," she said.
Unbeknownst to Michelle, a rock hit her head, which made her yelp; Poppy looked at her with widened eyes. "Misha?!" she shouted. Michelle started falling as blood came out of her head. Shit... not... good... she thought before collapsing on her back and her arms out.
Kissy Missy was distraught as Poppy held her hand out. "NO! We have to save her?!" she shouted. Mommy Long Legs shot her right arm toward Michelle. "I got her!" she shouted.
Before Mommy Long Legs's arm was close to Michelle, a large rock hit part of it, which made it stick to the ground and caused her to yell. "Mommy?!" Poppy shouted. Mommy Long Legs gritted her teeth as her hand stretched for Michelle. "Damn it all..." she said.
Unbeknownst to the trio, dough arms grabbed them before being pulled to the large opening. "NO?! Misha!" Poppy shouted as the debris fell. Doey pulled the trio inside before placing them on the ground. "Are you alright?" he asked.
Poppy turned to Doey. "No, I'm not?!" she shouted. "Misha is still out there!" Doey's eyes widened. "What?!" he shouted.
Mommy Long Legs looked at Doey. "When we were close to the opening, a rock hit my little Misha's head," she said. "I tried grabbing her, but a rock hit my arm; I managed to reach her, but I don't know if all of her is covered in my hand."
Soon after, the debris stopped falling, which made the toys look at it. "It stopped..." Poppy said, lowly.
Doey stared at the debris in the Mining Pit with widened eyes before looking down, his eyes not showing. "Smiling Critters," he said, which made the larger Smiling Critters look at him. "Don't let the smaller toys watch me..."
As Doey looked forward, three dark teal humanoids appeared in his mouth. "I don't want them to see me in my other form," he continued. The Smiling Critters' eyes widened before quickly covering the smaller toys.
Doey grew larger as multiple arms sprouted out of his body. As Doey hit the ground, his mouth opened, and his face and hat pushed back, which revealed the three humanoids, before his red teeth emerged.
Doey's lower half formed a two-split tail with three points, with one of them being longer than the other two. Some of the larger toys stared at Doey with widened eyes. "Big Brother..." Katelynn said, lowly.
Doey roared before moving forward and pushing large debris away. Doey grunted as he pushed debris away. She has to be around here somewhere... she has to be! he thought.
As Doey pushed a giant rock away, he spotted Mommy Long Legs's arm. Mommy did say she reached Misha, he thought before following her arm while pushing debris away.
As Doey pulled debris away, he spotted Mommy Long Leg's hand. "There she is!" he shouted. One of the humanoids looked at the ground and noticed a few broken purple beads, which made his eyes widen. "No..." Doey said, lowly.
