Days went on by the usual routine, Liam couldn't shake off the feeling that the girl had left on him. He found himself wondering about her constantly, replaying their br3if Encounter in his mind
Currently, as Liam was walking through the hallway, he caught a glimpse of her, but she always seemed to be out of reach, and that was for the past two days. He had begun to feel like he was stalking her, but he couldn't help himself.
Finally, lunch time came over, Liam just found his way to the cafeteria to have his lunch, and unexpectedly, he spotted this girl he had been wanting to reach out to, cuddled up in a corner of the cafeteria, his eyesalmost popped out of its socket, since the surprised was too unbearable
"Maybe because I didn't visit this place for the past two days.." he thought. Then he took a deep breath, adjusted his outfit, and made his way over to her.
As he was approaching nearer, the girl accidentally caught his eyes. Liam paused like he was caught stealing, and for a moment, they just stared at each other with 5he noise of the cafeteria fading into the background..
Liam found his heart racing as he reached out to her, standing before her, face to face now
"Mind if I join you?" He finally summoned up enough courage to muster those sentences ,trying to sound casual
The girl raised her head from the book she was reading, and she raised an eyebrow with her expression unreadable
"I suppose it's a free country," she replied with a firm but polite voice
Liam chuckled, trying to break the ice, he proceed to have his seat
"I'm Liam," he faltered, extending his hand toward her.
She hesitated for a moment before responding to the handshake,
"I'm Allison," she responded with a firm handshake
They both sat in silence for some seconds, with Allison going on with her reading. Liam was rehearsing on something to say, and just as he was about to speak up, Allison Cuts in
"I have a lot of work to do," she mumbled at Liam, pulling out a stack of books and notes from her bag
"I'm trying to get into a good college, and I need to keep my grades up," she added, not minding if Liam was listening or not.
Liam nodded slightly, impressed that the girl was not just beautiful but also brilliant and intelligent.
"You are really focused on your studies, aren't you?" He questioned, trying to play it cool.
Allison also nodded with her expression, getting serious
"I have to be, I don't have other options," she gave her response.
Liam sensed a hint of vulnerability behind her words, but Allison wrapped it up with a mask of determination. She stood up swiftly, carried her bag, and mumbled to Liam
"We will see other tine.." she didn't even wait for Liam's reply before dashing out of the cafeteria
Parting ways after lunch, Liam couldn't help but feel drawn to Allison's strength and determination, but he also sensed that she was a challenge, a puzzle he couldn't easily solve and that only made him more Intrigued. He found himself wanting to k ow more about her. He suddenly stood up and chased after her. He caught a glimpse of her on the way to the library,
Liam caught up with her, covering the little distance between them. He halted beside her and proposed
"Hey, Allison, do you mind if we study together for the upcoming match test?"
Allison hesitated for a moment, and she stopped her locomotion and looked at Liam warily before nodding curtly.
"Okay... but just for an hour. We have to focus on studying, and i don't like someone Intruding my privacy.." she explained with a serious expression
Liam grinned, feeling a sense of truimph. He mumbled w9th an excited tone
"Deal.."
They began the gentle walk to the library, and Allison led him to a quiet table situated at the end of the library. Liam couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. He had never read with anyone before, and he was looking forward to spending more time with allison
After gradually taking their seats, Allison brought out the maths textbook. They both spent the next hour pondering over their maths text books.
Liam was taking a sneaky look and was always opening a conversation, but it was like Allison had prepared a whole lot for him. She would occasionally shut down every discussion with one excuse or the other. Liam was so much impressed by Allison's knowledge and focus, and he found himself learning a whole lot from her than he had from his teacher.
As the hour was coming to a close, Liam realised he didn't want the study to come to an end. He was having too much fun, and he was starting to feel a connection with Allison that he quite explained.
"Hey Allison," Liam called as they started packing up their things
"Can I ask you something??" He added
Allison stopped packing her items and glanced at Liam warily,
"What is it?" She also asked in response
Liam hesitated a little bit for a moment, unsure of how to phrase the question
"I was just wondering... why are you so focused on your studies?" He said, looking slightly away from Allison, trying to avoid a close gaze.
"You seem really driven," He added
Allison's expression softened slightly, and for a moment, Liam thought he saw a glimmer of vulnerability in her eyes..
"I have to be," she gave response while resuming her packing
"I don't have any options," she added, with a quite depressed tone, which seemed to make her sad a little
Liams curiosity was piqued,
"What did she mean by that?"
"What is driving her to be more focused on her studies,"
He thought without without getting a straight answer to the riddles. He proceeded to put up the question and ask Allison directly, but before he could propose any more questions, Allison stood up after she finished gathering her items
"I should get going," she mumbled
"Thanks for studying with me, Liam,"
Her name sounded so cute with her melodious voice getting the best of Liam. He watched as she walked away. He couldn't help but feel a sense of determination. He made up his mind to get to know Allison better, no matter what it took
Little did Liam know that he was in for surprise, Allison's secret was only the beginning, and Liam was about to find himself caught up in a Web of mystery and intrigue
