Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Tsunade’s Pride

"No, of course not!"

Nawaki shook his head hastily, nearly in tears. He couldn't believe he had just left Tsunade with the impression that he was some kind of little pervert.

Tsunade almost burst out laughing at her younger brother's flustered expression. Then she stood up.

"Since you're mostly out of danger now, just stay put and rest. I've got things to handle, so I won't keep you company. Make sure you recover properly and don't move around recklessly!"

With that, and perhaps because she truly was busy, Tsunade swept out of the hospital room in her usual brisk, no-nonsense manner.

That decisive, commanding aura… she really did fit the image of a strong and capable woman.

"Big Sis…"

Watching her retreating back, Nawaki felt a pang of unexpected emptiness.

In his previous life, he'd been an only child. He had never experienced this kind of bond—part sister, part mother—this deep sense of reliance and mutual care…

Shaking his head to clear the odd thoughts, Nawaki closed his eyes again and resumed absorbing the remnants of Nawaki's memories. Earlier, he had only skimmed the surface and absorbed fragments of what Nawaki held most dear. There were still many memories left untouched.

Some time passed before he opened his eyes again.

A strange glimmer flashed across them.

"Phew… Since I've taken Nawaki's place and am now living in this world, then continuing to go by the name Ken just feels out of place. From today on, I'll be Nawaki."

Names were just identifiers. Especially for someone destined to become the Greatest—what did a name even matter?

The moment he made that decision, Nawaki felt a mental clarity unlike any other. His two lifetimes' worth of memories seamlessly merged into one, with no division or contradiction.

Right, now that Tsunade had been set as a Reincarnator, it should be possible to assign her missions. But how exactly did one earn points?

[Note: "Reincarnator" in this fanfiction refers to individuals chosen by the Lord God System to travel across worlds, complete missions, and earn points.]

---

[Master, the following are ways to earn points]:

[Collect rare treasures, items, or jutsu from the current world. For example, submitting a B-rank ninjutsu grants 100 points; an A-rank, 500 points; and an S-rank, 1,000 points. Submitting rare species also yields bonus rewards.]

[Steal the fate or fortune of powerful individuals in this world. Defeating or even killing them will earn varying point rewards: 100 points for a Chūnin, 600 for a Jōnin, 3,600 for a Kage-level ninja. Defeating narrative protagonists yields additional bonuses.]

[Conquering or destroying an entire world will grant massive point rewards.]

[Cultivating Reincarnators: every time a Reincarnator achieves a breakthrough in power, you will earn points.]

---

There were many ways to earn points, but Nawaki could already see the problem—if he tried to do everything himself, it would take forever to accumulate any meaningful number of points.

In comparison, training Reincarnators to fight on his behalf and harvest the resources of each world really was the smarter approach.

No wonder it was called the Lord God System.

"In the early stages, it's more efficient to recruit powerful Reincarnators. They can take on higher-level missions. Later on, when I've got surplus points to spare, I can think about training weaker Reincarnators—let them claw their way up, and I'll still earn upgrade points off their efforts."

With a sly chuckle, Nawaki closed his eyes.

From the perspective of the medical-nin beside him, his breathing had steadied—he looked like he'd simply fallen into restful sleep.

But in reality, a screen-like interface appeared within Nawaki's mind. On it was the image of a curvaceous young woman, swiftly leaping through the forest.

It was Tsunade, who had only just left his room a short while ago.

Through the Lord God System, Nawaki could monitor any Reincarnator he had assigned, and issue missions to them at will.

According to his memories, the nations of Fire, Earth, and Wind had converged upon the Land of Rain, and the war was drawing to a tense close. Despite how busy things were, Tsunade had still found the time to visit him—truly a bond of deep sibling affection.

Moved by the thought, Nawaki had already come up with the perfect first mission for her.

---

In the jungles of the Land of Rain, Tsunade leapt effortlessly from branch to branch. Even though the trees here were slick with moss from the region's constant rainfall, she moved with absolute confidence and grace.

Her heart was finally at ease. After confirming her little brother was out of danger, the tension she'd been holding melted away.

The three great ninja villages had each dispatched forces to this battlefield. If this final battle was won, it would mean the Land of Fire's ultimate victory in the war.

However… dealing with Hanzo the Salamander, that man known as a "Legendary Shinobi," would be anything but easy.

As Tsunade furrowed her brow in thought, a sudden voice echoed in her ear.

[System initializing… System initialized.]

"Who's there?!"

Tsunade reacted immediately, halting mid-air and landing firmly on a branch. Her feet clung securely to the bark as she scanned her surroundings with sharp vigilance—but sensed no trace of an enemy.

Then, the voice came again.

[I am the Lord God. You have been chosen as a Reincarnator. You must now complete the missions I assign you. As a reward, upon completion of each mission, I will bestow items or points, which you can exchange for anything you desire.]

The voice was neither male nor female, seemingly right beside her, yet also as distant as the horizon—impossible to trace.

Tsunade didn't believe a word of it. Instead, a bead of sweat rolled down her forehead.

What kind of technique was this? Transmitting a voice directly into her mind without her even detecting the source?

Could it be a secret technique from another village? Had someone learned of her visit to Nawaki and set a trap here to eliminate her? Was this voice merely a ploy to destabilize her mentally?

The so-called Lord God voice continued: [Now issuing your beginner mission.]

A moment later, Tsunade's pupils shrank.

Before her eyes, a semi-transparent screen appeared, lines of text written across it:

---

[Beginner Mission

Objective: Eliminate three enemy ninjas located 800 meters to the southeast.

Reward: Full status recovery, 500 reward points.

Failure Penalty: Erasure.]

---

Seeing the word "Erasure," Tsunade's lips curled into a cold smirk. So this was the enemy's goal.

And that mission objective—800 meters to the southeast? If she really went, there probably wouldn't just be three enemy ninjas waiting for her. More likely, it was a heavy ambush.

She wasn't exaggerating to say that she was one of the most crucial combatants in this war. Not only was her combat prowess formidable, but her top-tier medical ninjutsu and summoning of Katsuyu had saved countless lives.

So it made perfect sense for the enemy to want her gone.

Still smirking coldly, Tsunade launched herself forward—toward the coordinates listed on the mission screen.

She wasn't about to flee. No—she would charge toward the tiger's den, knowing full well what awaited.

Because this was the pride of a Kage-level ninja.

Even if she suspected a trap, as long as she remained calm and observant, she'd be able to deduce the number of enemies from subtle clues—then either choose to retreat and report, or wipe them out completely.

Anyone who thought they could ambush her just because she was alone?

They were sorely mistaken.
