Chapter 8 - Chapter 8

Dropping the stag he pulled his two daggers, he could see the hesitation in their eyes which means a fight could be avoided. Slowly he walked away from the stag while watching the wolves with vigilance.

As he suspected, the wolves opened space for him as he got closer, they did not attack but watched him with caution. He walked away slowly until he could no longer see them.

Inside he was fuming, they had stolen his food from him, he swore he would kill every single one of them someday but for now he needed to rush home.

Arriving in his room he did not waste time and lit a fire. He roasted and ate all of the tree hide boar meat, he was really hungry but after that meal energy returned to his body.

His body was still sore so he went to sleep, unlike most times, this time he went into deep sleep. He woke up the next day starving.

Damn why am I so hungry? ( Answer, host body is healing itself and uses lot of nutrients in the process) but I'm out of food, I can't fight in this state, how am I supposed to hunt.

Receiving no answer he picked up his gun and left for the forest. If he couldn't hunt powerful and more nutritious beasts then he would settle for weaker ones.

He just has to kill more of them right? He knew which beast to slaughter and a slaughter he delivered. By the end of his hunt he had 11 corpses of the annoying birds.

Without wasting time he absorbed their essence blood before they disappeared. The forest was filled with the annoying loud screeches of their brethren.

He dragged the corpses home, he realised that ever since obtaining the boar bloodline his physical strength had increased significantly.

He wouldn't be surprised if he could lift a ton now and he was almost certain bullets would not kill him, they might hurt but they were not killing him.

Arriving in his room he burnt the feathers off the birds and roasted them, he ate Evey single one and burped with satisfaction. His body no longer felt sore.

He had eleven blood cores and eleven blood points, this was a good haul. He absorbed the cores and felt the blood essence flow through his veins.

No matter how many time he does this it still feels extremely good. The blood cores from the birds were really low quality. They barely had any essence and even that essence was not as pure as others he had absorbed.

Honestly if the birds didn't provide blood points they would basically be useless. Maybe that why other beasts don't hunt them, it just not worth the effort.

With everything done and having fully healed he decided it was time he checked how the town was doing and if Tigers men were looking for him.

He left his building and went south, that was where he was last time, if those two reported him then that where Tiger men will look. He saw nothing suspicious and decided to go west.

This part of the town was not as dilapidated as the south and east. To avoid being seen he had tied a dirty cloth around his head, only his brown eyes were visible through the opening.

There were more people around here and they looked thin and sickly. Even though their condition was bad he was not in any shape to help others.

He had his own problems to deal with, however he noticed he did not see any kids around. I wonder what happening, he knew there were kids in town he had seen them everyday since he lived here which is forever.

He continued walking around, did Tiger do something to them? He felt anger rise inside him, he was not a saint in any way but he had a soft spot for kids.

He wished for their innocence to not be tainted by the cruelty of this world, in his eyes children were the only good thing about this world, the only spark.

He wanted to protect that spark so if Tiger did harm the kids then he would kill him himself. Calm down Ashborn, don't jump to conclusions.

Just as he passed by a building he heard a womans voice inside. The voice was coming from the second floor so he jumped and held into a crevice on the wall.

He looked through the broken window and a beautiful tall woman with pitch black hair and glasses was teaching the kids how to read? Somebody went out of their way to teach kids how to read?

It was truly a surprise, most people here were selfish, does she gain something from them? He decided to watch and see what happens.

The woman suddenly turned around and looked at him, they stood still for a few seconds looking at each other. CREEEP, she screamed and the kids started crying and screaming with her.

He jumped down with panic, what wrong with her, I was just looking at them through the window, why would she call me a creep? He grumbled as he climbed to the roof of the building across.

Fortunately the woman carried on with her class until the end but she and the kids did not leave, he was starting to suspect there really was something going on in the shadows here and he was right.

It was not however what he expected, they were not doing anything nefarious to the kids instead another woman, a dark skinned beauty with braids came in with a bag.

The bag was filled with what looks like left over meat, bones and all. There were also plastic bags with what appeared to be boiled intestines.

Hello Thea, said the teacher. How are you doing miss Anitta? I'm fine, the woman named miss Anitta said with a sigh. Is everything okay?

Yeah I just had a weird day. Weird how? There was a man creeping on the kids. WHAT? WHO, he heard the younger woman called Thea shout.

It doesn't matter he's gone now but it was really scary, he was looking through the window. Window? Miss Anitta we're on the second floor, how can anyone be looking through the window?

That what made it so scary, he must've been very dedicated to creeping. Ashborn felt his veins throb. He had those crazy beast eyes of a very evil man.

He couldn't take it anymore and jumped straight through the window from the other building. They all panicked and screamed, Thea took out a metal pike and held it like she was ready to pounce.

Could you please stop calling me a creep lady miss Anitta.
