Lila blinked. "Wait. We're going into my brain?!"
Rin clapped her hands. "Mind-heist! Like the movie with dreams inside dreams but with more frogs and existential dread!"
Muffin whirred ominously.

They dove anyway.

A garden full of flickering flowers, glitchy butterflies, and a girl humming on a swing set made of silver wires.
The girl turned.

Younger. Freckled. Wide-eyed. But her eyes glowed with too much knowledge.
Junie whispered, "Is thatā¦ her pre-rewrite self?"
Lila-Child tilted her head. "Why are you here? The update already happened."
"We're here to help you remember," the real Lila said, stepping forward.
Lila-Child laughed. "There is no remembering. Only overwriting."

The room turned warm. A door opened.

The real Lila stood silent.

The woman turned toward Lila.

Silence.
Mara croaked in horror. "She's your creator?"
Lila froze. She couldn't move. Couldn't breathe.
The memory version of her stepped forward.

One by one, the club members were yanked out.
Except Lila.
She was still standing in front of her mother's memory.

"No," Lila whispered. "I'll become strong the real way. Through laughter. Through chaos. Through helping."
She summoned her HeartTree, glowing from within.
> "Learning is sacred because it takes time. You can't patch that."
Her rewrite skill surged.
The lab exploded in light.
And she woke upāback in the Patchroom, gasping.
Everyone was there.
Eli smirked. "Welcome back, Proto."
Junie smiled. "You remembered you. That's all that matters."
