Chapter 14 - Chapter 14— I will never die

Still trapped in that horrible situation, the immortal man found himself with virtually no way out—no chance to retaliate against the blows. The woman before him was, quite literally, controlling the tides within her body. It was both irritating and terrifying, especially considering that she was using his own blood as a weapon against him.

"That wretched woman… every second, she comes up with another trick!"

He quickly tried to shoot his pressurized liquid to push her away, but failed miserably—she managed to repel the attack right back at his eyes, temporarily blinding him until his vision could regenerate.

— "Haven't you figured it out yet? I'm the strongest one here!"

With a flick of her right index finger, she created a sphere of white "rocks" that formed something like a mini-moon. She launched the attack—named Little Moon—directly at his abdomen. He was instantly drawn toward the sphere, unable to dodge, and took the full force of the impact. The blast hurled him over 100 meters away and created a small explosion. The stones from the sphere pierced his abdomen and jaw, shattering them. His teeth and parts of his tongue were sent flying, along with several of his internal organs, leaving the Miraijin temporarily immobilized and critically injured. He now needed to regenerate his eyes, jaw, and internal organs.

"Shit… This is so unfair. How the hell is this woman so strong?!"

He was completely defenseless, unable to fight on equal terms. But he knew his life would never be easy—and he noticed that the woman was already approaching, ready to finish him off. Fortunately for him (and unfortunately for those around), the peak of the night had passed, and so had her power. Her body went into temporary shock, freezing her in place and leaving her completely vulnerable for a few seconds.

In the distance, a voice could be heard—Held was yelling at Kura:

— "Come on, finish this already—she's wide open!"

This only made the young man more irritated, as he was concentrating on doing something. His first reaction was sharp and aggressive:

— "Shut up, you impatient muscle-head bastard!"

He then released what he'd been focusing on. Using his electromagnetic abilities, Kura generated ultraviolet radiation and launched it at a scrawny man nearby. That man's body immediately bulked up, gaining absurd muscle mass as he absorbed the rays. His once-loose military uniform became tight, even ripping in places. His long pants shrank into shorts due to his sudden growth, and his old bowl-cut hairstyle morphed into a slick blond pompadour.

— "Thanks, kid. I really couldn't wait five more hours to use my power again."

The weak man from before had vanished—replaced by a strong and fearless warrior. Without even waiting for a response, he dashed toward the regenerating enemy. Time was short; he had only thirty seconds in this empowered form.

As he landed in front of his opponent, a cloud of dust rose up, separating his beloved little sister from the filthy, repugnant serial killer. The Miraijin took notice and asked aloud:

— "You army dogs keep showing up… Who the hell are you?!"

Calm and composed, the soldier raised his right arm high into the sky, as if pointing to the sun, and declared with unwavering confidence:

— "I am the Moon's older brother. I'm the one who lights the skies by day, who lets plants perform photosynthesis. I am the key to sending you straight to hell. I am the sun—Shams!"

The raised finger wasn't just a dramatic gesture—it was also the trigger for a powerful ground-based attack. A burst of violet heat exploded upward, sending the immortal man flying into the nearby forest—the same one where he had fought Arold earlier. Trees were knocked down as his body smashed into them, and the impact singed the wood. His body was riddled with splinters.

Shams quickly followed, now with fewer than fifteen seconds left in his powered-up form.

— "Alright, you piece of shit murderer. Time for me to kill you right here, without mercy. Any last words?"

He began preparing a final technique: a concentrated "beam" aimed at his original arm—intended to incinerate and destroy the enemy once and for all.

But the psychopath simply grinned arrogantly, speaking with defiant pride:

— "You really think I'm going to die here? I will never, ever die!"

Despite the arrogance, Shams fired the violet beam at his opponent—specifically targeting his right arm—completely vaporizing it and seemingly killing him.

His power faded afterward. As waves of medics arrived to tend to the wounded, a strange voice echoed in the air:

"Damn it… This kid always ends up in trouble, and I never get a peaceful night's sleep!"

The voice echoed in an unseen place. No one else could hear it—except for Kura. He tried to ignore it as he was carried off to the emergency tent.
