Chapter 60: A fight between mad dogs

Derrick immediately felt strange, and he didn't know why. Isn't this what he wanted? To fight Severin? Then why was he feeling hesitation to continue?

But he shook his head and firmed his nerves. This was an opportunity he couldn't even dream of missing.

"Alright, I'm ready. Don't blame me for not holding back."

Severin drew his sword.

It was time to get it over with. Time to discipline a subordinate of his.

Immediately after Derrick saw him draw the sword, he didn't wait to see what would happen next as he jumped forward, blurring so fast that there was only a brown streak of his clothes.

Before Severin knew what was happening, the guy was in front of him, a punch already coming for his head.

Derrick wasn't holding back.

Now though, neither was Severin.

He saw the attack coming, thanks to his days in the Timeless Domain, but just like before, his body couldn't catch up.

So he did the only thing that he could do.

With a slight movement, a small, mostly undetectable movement, his sword suddenly seemed to gain a life of its own, and it swung down like a judgment.

Derrick's fist and the sword almost clashed in what would have been a very painful and bloody experience for the hunk of a guy, but unlike his opponents, his body and mind matched.

And with the stretching technique that was provided.

One that he had trained his body with again and again.

Pain flaring as muscles tore and rent.

He twisted his legs sharply, and even in that short time, all the needed muscles and joints flexed and stretched. His body jerked to the side. For someone so big, his body moved as if it weighed nothing.

"Thank you for the technique!" he shouted as another punch took Severin on the side of the rib.

Pain flared as he was jerked sideways. His body slammed against the ground, and he skidded on the floor, grunting.

Derrick laughed, rubbing his hair with relish. "How long has it been since I've been able to beat you like this? I can't remember! Oh! I remember those days I used to beat you daily, and now it's back!"

Severin stood up and rubbed his side.

It was a powerful punch that should have broken his ribs, but instead, he only felt the pain.

In the Timeless Domain, his body, his bones were broken again and again, his muscles torn, and each time he came back to life, his body was actually healed.

Not that a new body was made for him.

"I'm going to break every bone in your body. You will feel as if you are... huh? Where'd he go?"

Severin also got the Evasion technique from the Timeless Immortal Saint as well.

A technique that was sent into his mind and woven into his bones.

And the technique only contained two moves.

One was the one that Severin always used, where he would stand still with all his presence erased. The other one was one that he didn't use that often.

It's more like an assassin's skill.

It's a combination of the first skill and something else.

This time, he would conceal his presence and then add a footwork to that, letting him move undetected.

Well, not undetected, because in an open field like that it was impossible to remain undetected, but it would allow the enemy to lose track of him once in a while.

That was exactly what Severin was aiming for.

In that short period that Derrick first lost track of him, Severin had used acceleration on himself to cross the distance between them.

By the time his brain picked up again...

Severin had already attacked.

He put his sword into its scabbard.

And because he didn't want to kill his useful dog just yet...

He used the scabbard sword to fight.

He swung it, powered by the power of his Stigma and his own E-ranked strength. It came down like a barbarian's hammer.

Derrick crossed his hand in front of his head. "You think your attack can...!!"

It hit more than he expected, far worse.

And Severin, that bastard, had slightly changed the aim of his sword, and instead of the crossed hand, he went for his fingers. ƒгeewebnovёl.com

Crack!

"Aahgghhh!"

Derrick shouted out in pain as three of his fingers instantly snapped, twisting at odd angles.

His instincts kicked in immediately, and he drew back to examine his hands.

A mistake that Severin was glad to take advantage of.

Acceleration.

A kick.

And not just any ordinary kick. Severin's shoe had been reinforced with metal and tough leather so that it could withstand his Stigma power.

He kicked him straight in the liver with his metal shoes at a speed that couldn't be measured with ordinary eyes, and Derrick made such a painful moaned scream as he doubled over. Saliva poured from his mouth, and all the breath left his lungs.

His head throbbed, and veins appeared in his forehead.

Severin intentionally targeted his weak spot.

Before he could be freed from the pain, the sword went up again, still in the scabbard.

But without hesitation, and using all his strength and Stigma strength, he brought it down on Derrick's head.

On his ear.

Bam!

It was as if an explosion occurred right there beside him. His eyes darkened, and the daylight seemed to have vanished into night. His sense of direction was lost immediately.

Severin stood over him and smirked. "Time to discipline my subordinate."

Then he proceeded to beat him to a pulp.

He took advantage completely. With his sense of direction temporarily lost, every attack from Derrick was a miss, and Severin's own was a hit.

He targeted all the weak areas. His stomach, fingers, and toes dripped with blood.

When he glared and cursed too much, Severin put two fingers in his eyes and then used his scabbard sword to shut his mouth, only stopping when his saliva turned red.

With Derrick very much hopeless...

Severin went on to beat him. He didn't break his bones or tear his body that much.

But his skin turned blue and purple and different shades of black.
