Chapter 3 - SYSTEM II

"What… is this?" I asked, confused—not even knowing who I was asking.

The message shifted again:

[Host was born from a forbidden action, which led to abandonment.]

[The Deity System was integrated to help the host ascend to the Realm of Deities.]

[As a god-in-the-making, your power can reach or even surpass divine beings.]

I blinked, absorbing that. "Why is there a demon in my race category?" I asked.

[Host carries blood from both a demon and an unknown race.]

[For more information, level up and become stronger.]

"How do I level up?"

[Access the 'Mission' section to learn how.]

[Host must grow stronger to unlock your true self.]

Before I could digest everything, a gentle knock came from the door. I decided to push the thoughts aside—for now.

Standing outside was a tall nurse with blonde hair, red spectacles, and a professional smile.

"Are you alright?" she asked.

"I'm fine… I guess I was just tired," I replied, trying to stay calm.

Just then, a tall, muscular man walked in with a commanding aura. His presence was overwhelming, radiating confidence as though the world itself bowed to him. He requested to speak with me privately.

I expected the nurse to refuse—but surprisingly, she gave a professional nod and walked out.

I stood there frozen. My instincts screamed at me. I glanced around the room, looking for anything I could use as a weapon.

My palms began to sweat. The air felt heavier—almost like gravity itself was pressing down on me.

My heart pounded.

This man… was no ordinary person.

Writer's POV

They stood there, staring at each other—both equally confused.

The soldier wondered if this was truly the same kid he had brought to the hospital just a few hours ago. And Johan, still overwhelmed by everything he had experienced, wondered who the man standing before him was.

The silence broke when the soldier finally spoke.

"Are you alright?" he asked.

"I'm fine," Johan replied, though still visibly unsure. "Guess it was just a headache."

The soldier gave a nod, then formally introduced himself. "I'm Lucas, First-Rank Level Soldier. I was assigned to transport you to the academy."

He went on to explain the mission he had been given, how he had arrived at the apartment, and the strange scene that had greeted him—the door broken, the room nearly empty, and Johan lying unconscious on the floor.

As the explanation unfolded, Johan felt his anxiety ease. The weight on his shoulders lifted slightly, and his tense posture relaxed. Lucas noticed this change and offered a small, knowing smile.

Without wasting time, Lucas activated one of the teleportation pods, and in the blink of an eye, they appeared before the Admission Office—a towering white structure adorned with gold linings around its windows and doors. The building stood tall and majestic, almost like it didn't belong on Earth.

Inside the White Tower, the scene was bustling. Dozens of people filled the space—some excited, others nervous but all in all they were all here for their admission.

Johan's POV

After leaving the main office, we headed straight for the academy. Once we arrived, the soldier—Lucas—left me on my own without much of a goodbye.

Later that evening, all newly admitted students were summoned to the assembly hall for an important announcement. The room buzzed with nervous energy and hushed conversations. Then, everything fell silent as the Headmistress walked in.

Regal, stern, and commanding, she stood at the podium like a queen before her subjects.

"Ladies and gentlemen," she began, her voice clear and composed, "I believe we're all tired from the journey and today's activities, so I'll keep my message brief."

She paused, sweeping the crowd with her sharp eyes.

"As you all know, this academy—among all those established by the Seekers—is considered the finest. We are proud to say we've trained most, if not all, of the strongest individuals on this planet.

"But let me make something very clear: those of you from powerful backgrounds or wealthy families should understand this—money holds no weight here. The only currency that matters in Lancelot High is your points—earned through your ability, strength, and contribution."

She didn't blink. Her face remained expressionless as she continued.

"Secondly, this academy respects the strong and rejects the weak. Each division, each class, will have its own hierarchy. A placement test will be conducted soon to determine where you belong."

Her tone sharpened.

"Prepare yourselves. No more questions. You are dismissed."

As everyone began to move, I stood there silently, her words echoing in my mind. Yet what really consumed my thoughts was the system.

Just before the headmistress spoke, I had received another notification:

[System: Body Condensation Complete]

But I hadn't had time to focus on it then.

I left the assembly hall and searched for my dorm room. To my surprise, it was a shared room—with two other people already inside. I was caught off guard until someone casually mentioned that I could've requested a private room during admission... but it was too late to change now.

I didn't say a word to them. Just quietly walked to the bed furthest from the door and sat down.

The room was spacious—three beds, one shared washroom, and individual closets. I lay in bed, pretending to sleep, waiting for the others to drift off. Once I was sure they were asleep, I activated the system in my mind.

And just like before, the dark, glowing text appeared:

Staring at the stats, I whispered to the air, "System… what are you? Where did you come from?"

Then—it happened.

A sudden, blinding light filled the room, forcing me to cover my eyes. I blinked, trying to adjust, but the brightness overwhelmed me.

As the light slowly faded, I opened my eyes—only to find my vision turn completely white.

What I saw next… shook me to my core.
