Xu Xiaoxiao asked Lin Fan to wait for a moment while she went to retrieve the keys. Soon after, she returned and led him to view the apartment.
Green Forest Manor truly lived up to its reputation as a high-end residential complex. The landscaping inside the community resembled a luxurious park, with lush greenery, flower beds, and a small winding river. The environment was serene and refreshing.
Lin Fan also noticed that there weren't any vehicles parked above ground—every car was neatly housed in the underground garage. It was quiet and far safer this way.
"This community is really nice," Lin Fan remarked with satisfaction.
"Of course," Xu Xiaoxiao smiled. "Green Forest Manor has strict planning and management. Many people come to look at the units, but very few actually buy. The price is simply too high for the average person. Most are just here to browse."
Even without her saying it, Lin Fan could tell. If a lot of people were looking but few were buying, the price had to be steep.
Under Xu Xiaoxiao's guidance, they soon arrived at the unit on the third floor of Building 8.
The door opened to reveal solid hardwood flooring throughout the space. After putting on disposable shoe covers, Lin Fan stepped inside.
The living room featured large floor-to-ceiling windows on both sides, flooding the space with natural light and making it feel even more expansive.
The kitchen was unusually large for a residential unit, with a stylish island in the middle. It looked both practical and upscale.
Surprisingly, all three secondary bedrooms had their own private bathrooms. This wasn't on the standard floor plan—it must have been customized. But the layout felt much more convenient and luxurious because of it.
"This apartment was renovated not long ago," Xu Xiaoxiao said, "but there's no lingering smell of construction. The owner used all imported, eco-friendly materials—he spared no expense."
Lin Fan nodded in approval. "What's the asking price?"
Xu Xiaoxiao tapped on her phone's calculator. "It's 125,000 yuan per square meter. With a total area of 330 square meters, that's about 41.25 million yuan."
She pulled out a folder and added, "But the seller listed the total price as 50 million, no discounts. The renovation alone cost a fortune."
Just as Xu Xiaoxiao was about to continue, she hesitated for a moment and said sincerely, "Lin Fan, honestly, I think buying a smaller unit would be more practical. It's a better value overall…"
Before she could finish, Lin Fan interrupted, smiling faintly.
"No need. I'll take this one. I really like it. If there are no issues, we can sign the contract today."
"…Are you serious?"
Xu Xiaoxiao was stunned. She wasn't sure if she'd heard him right.
But seeing Lin Fan nod with complete seriousness, she quickly asked, "Will you be using a commercial loan? Or the housing provident fund?"
"No need," Lin Fan said lightly. "I'll pay the full amount in one go."
Xu Xiaoxiao stood there, frozen for a few seconds, her eyes wide in disbelief. She had assumed Lin Fan was doing well, but this level of wealth was on a whole different level.
"…Alright! Then let's go finalize the paperwork!"
As they stepped out of the unit, Lin Fan glanced at the elevator.
The apartment was nearly perfect, but one thing caught his attention: the elevator directly served two units.
Xu Xiaoxiao noticed his pause. "What's wrong? Is there something you're not satisfied with?"
Lin Fan asked, "What's the layout of the unit across the hall?"
"It's the same as this one," she replied. "But it's already been reserved. I heard the same owner is holding it. Why do you ask?"
"Has the contract been signed yet?"
"Not yet… Wait, don't tell me—"
"I want that one too," Lin Fan said casually. "Help me check if we can sign for both units together."
Xu Xiaoxiao was speechless.
Lin Fan continued, "I want to knock down the dividing wall and combine the two into one big home. I'll seal off the elevator area and make it a private entrance. That would feel much more grand."
Xu Xiaoxiao's jaw practically dropped. Combine two luxury units? Who even thinks like that?
She had been struggling to close a single deal recently—and now, Lin Fan was casually buying two high-end flats in one breath.
This wasn't just a sale. It was a miracle!
Xu Xiaoxiao snapped out of her daze. "Don't worry. I'll handle everything. Let's go back and settle the contracts first. You can leave the rest to me."
After everything was finalized, Xu Xiaoxiao asked gently, "How do you plan to handle the payment and timing?"
"No need to complicate it. Just swipe the card—I want to get it done today."
At this point, Xu Xiaoxiao had given up trying to keep up with Lin Fan's calm, absurdly wealthy energy. She simply nodded and led him to the finance office.
An hour later, all the purchase procedures were complete.
"Oh right," Lin Fan asked, "when can I get the keys? I want to move in as soon as possible."
Xu Xiaoxiao thought for a moment. "You can move in right away. I'll get the keys for you now. As for any minor follow-ups or paperwork, don't worry—I'll take care of it all myself."
Lin Fan nodded. That was exactly what he wanted—he hated troublesome details.
Very soon, he received the keys to both units.
After thanking Xu Xiaoxiao, Lin Fan said he had something to take care of and left Green Forest Manor.
Xu Xiaoxiao stood at the entrance, watching Lin Fan's figure disappear into the distance, dazed and lost in thought.
She didn't have feelings for Lin Fan back in college, but this time… he'd truly blown her away.
If only she'd paid more attention to him back then—maybe things would've been different.

Xu Xiaoxiao blinked back to reality. "Oh… he was just a college classmate."
"What?! A college classmate who just bought two luxury apartments in full cash? That's one hell of a classmate!"
