Chapter 1: Power after Peace, Power before Peace
"Peace has ruled—resulting in power. That power cleansed, peace again. Power arrived—power demolished, but this time peace is gone…"
Akari wakes up, his Red-Black hair flapping. He showers, brushes his teeth. He puts on his white button-up long sleeve, furry khaki vest, black shorts and black boots.
"Akari! Breakfast is ready!" Yells his mom. Akari: "Coming!" He gets his bag and heads downstairs
Narration (Akari): "I am Akari Hoshizaki! I live in a small town, I was born with red and black hair—kind of like my dad but his is darker. Anyways, about me—I am 5'5 feet tall, I love this vest—I wear it everyday haha!"
Akari: "Wow mom! This soup is incredible! What is this?" Mom: "Haha! That's pork ramen, your dad caught a pig earlier and used it to cook pork ramen." Akari's expression full of joy and shock.
"Where's dad?" Mom: "He's out hunting more food." He finishes eating and heads out, "I'm going now mom, bye!" Mom: "Enjoy! Haha!"
Akari arrives at school and heads to his classroom, his friends approach him. Santu, with his dimmed yellow hair parted in the middle, white t-shirt, black sweatpants. The other one—Kade, with his clean white face, blonde hair in a French crop, wearing a dark puple scarf around his neck, black jacket, black baggy jeans, and black boots. "Hey Santu and Kade! What's up?"
Santu: "Oh nothing much, we just arrived so we're heading to class too." Kade nods. They head to class and sit beside each other.
Akari: "What do you think our lesson for today is? Isn't it history?" Santu (With a tired expression): "I don't know man, I wanna go home." Kade: "Yeah, I heard today's lesson is about the Oniakus." Akari and Santu (Excited): "FOR REAL?!?!" Kade chuckles and nods. The professor walks in and the classroom silences. "Good morning class! Today we are going to learn about the only known history of the Oniakus—according to passed down words about them."
Akari and Santu with an excited face whilst Kade with a chill face wanting to go home. Akari and Santu raise their hands, the professor calls Santu, "Where do they live?" Professor: "Well, we'll discuss that in a second so sit down and relax first." Santu's expression flipped upside down, Akari laughs at him for getting denied. Santu sits down and they listen to the Professor.
"It is said they have existed during the era of the Ryoshi Kingdom, even rumored to have existed before it was built. As of now we do not have any information about their origin. So, there are 3 types of Oniakus. First is the Rogue Oniakus, to be observed to have no brains. Second is Dragon Captain, a major step up from Rogues, observed only thrice in history, said to have the strength equal to a RSG Captain. Lastly is the Superiors, these are also a major step up from the Dragon Captains and have only been observed twice in history, It is said that they possess strength capable of beating 3 RSG Captains, surprisingly enough to be equal to the Eclipse Council members." The Professor keeps talking and shortly after.
"Class is dimissed." Said the Professor.
They pack up their stuff and head out.
Future Akari (Naration): "I remember this day so clearly.. Learning about the Oniakus, the sky was calm, and I thought peace would last forever.. This was the last day I saw them smile. The last day I lived without knowing what it meant to lose everything."
