Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Twin Martial Souls and First Cultivation! (Part 1)

Zhu Family, Living Room

After a long day, the house finally quieted down. Zhu Changhe and Liang Ying were lying on the couch, holding each other, enjoying a rare moment of peace.

However, Zhu Ziyang clearly had no intention of letting them enjoy it for long. He entered the living room, walked over to his parents, wearing a peculiar expression.

"Yangyang, what's wrong? Are you hungry? Mommy will cook something right away," Liang Ying said softly as she sat up from her husband's arms.

Zhu Changhe also looked at him with concern. The couple had always been proud of their son's intelligence, and now with his full innate soul power, their pride and joy had reached new heights.

Zhu Ziyang stopped his mother from getting up and said with a hint of excitement, "I'm not hungry. I just have something to tell you."

"Oh? What is it?" Zhu Changhe, sensing his son's excitement, asked curiously.

"Yes, Yangyang, what is it?" Liang Ying echoed.

"I have another martial soul," Zhu Ziyang said calmly, as if it were nothing important.

His nonchalant tone caused Liang Ying to momentarily miss the significance of what he said. She hadn't noticed her husband had frozen stiff behind her. She responded casually, "Oh, I thought it was something big. Just another—huh? Zhu Changhe! What are you doing?!"

She didn't finish her sentence before being bumped by her husband, who had suddenly jumped up and rushed to Zhu Ziyang's side.

No one cared about her confusion at the moment. Zhu Changhe's eyes burned with intensity, his face showing both disbelief and excitement. His voice was raspy as he asked, "You said… you have another martial soul? You mean… you have two martial souls?!"

Zhu Ziyang wasn't surprised by the reaction. Without a word, he extended both hands and activated his power silently. Instantly, a cold aura surged out—his small hands were covered with frost-white scales, and his bright eyes transformed into vertical dragon pupils.

Zhu Ziyang's second martial soul—Frost Tyrant Dragon!

Also known as the Arctic Tyrant Dragon, it was a genuine sub-dragon soul beast, part of the earth dragon species. It possessed a powerful body and control over ice, ranking among the strongest dragon soul beasts of the Far Northern Icefield. The Arctic Tyrant Dragon was also one of the most iconic martial souls in the continent's northern region.

"This is…" Zhu Changhe's pupils shrank. Then a look of indescribable joy spread across his face, and he shouted louder and louder, "My son has twin martial souls! My son has twin martial souls!"

"Ahhh! Yangyang! You have twin martial souls!" Liang Ying finally realized what was happening. She threw herself at him, hugging him tightly with a radiant expression.

Faced with his parents' over-the-top reactions, Zhu Ziyang could only wait patiently for them to calm down.

Eventually, they did.

"Honey, Yangyang really has twin martial souls, right?"

"Yes!"

"And he has full innate soul power too, right?"

"Correct!"

"Our son is a super genius!"

Their conversation was calm, like a post-celebration cooldown after all the excitement.

"Come, Yangyang, let Daddy take a closer look at your second martial soul." Zhu Changhe, more composed than Liang Ying, pulled Zhu Ziyang closer to examine the scales on his arms carefully.

"It's great! Yangyang's second martial soul looks just like mine—the Snow Dragon Lizard," Liang Ying said dreamily, a silly grin on her face. "Hehe, now I have no regrets, haha."

"No, I don't think Yangyang's martial soul is the Snow Dragon Lizard," Zhu Changhe said seriously, cutting her off.

"What did you say?" Liang Ying looked confused.

"Oh, don't give me that look! I'm serious. The scales on Yangyang's martial soul are larger, lighter in color, and much colder than those of the Snow Dragon Lizard. I don't know exactly what it is, but I can guarantee—it's not the Snow Dragon Lizard!" Zhu Changhe smiled wryly, then pointed at Zhu Ziyang. "If you don't believe me, release your martial soul and compare!"

Still doubtful, Liang Ying extended her hand. A layer of fine scales appeared on the back of it. Comparing hers to her son's, the difference was obvious—they were clearly two distinct martial souls. Shocked, she asked, "Yangyang, what martial soul is this? Why isn't it like Mommy's Snow Dragon Lizard?"

Zhu Ziyang answered proudly, "Of course it's different—mine is the Frost Tyrant Dragon!"

"Frost Tyrant Dragon!" the couple exclaimed in unison. As lifelong northerners, they naturally knew how powerful that martial soul was. No wonder they were so thrilled.

"That's right," Zhu Ziyang smiled, fully understanding their excitement.

"Dear, how come our son has a Frost Tyrant Dragon martial soul?" Liang Ying finally asked the critical question—one that was on Zhu Changhe's mind as well.

After a brief pause, Zhu Changhe replied, "I think it must be due to a martial soul mutation. Your Snow Dragon Lizard is already a dragon-type martial soul. There's a chance it could mutate into a stronger dragon martial soul."

Zhu Ziyang nodded as he listened. Despite Zhu Changhe's limited access to information due to his status and resources, his reasoning based on what he did know was sound—and Ziyang approved.

"So, Yangyang's martial soul mutated! But… could it have any side effects?" Liang Ying asked nervously.

"No need to worry," Zhu Changhe reassured her with a smile. "Yangyang's second martial soul has a stable aura. It's a perfect positive mutation. And if I'm not mistaken, Yangyang—your first martial soul is mutated too, isn't it?"

Although he didn't know the twin martial soul theory, Zhu Changhe understood the importance of balance. He had sensed something unusual during the awakening ceremony, which led him to this conclusion.

"Yes. My Dusklight Scythe martial soul mutated into the Radiant Scythe, which has a much stronger light attribute. I think you could tell too, right, Dad?" Zhu Ziyang answered openly.

"I knew it!" A confident smile spread across Zhu Changhe's face. "Radiant Scythe, huh? Let me see it again."

"Okay." Zhu Ziyang nodded and summoned his Radiant Scythe. Instantly, the surrounding light elements became highly active due to the scythe's strong holy aura.

Zhu Changhe summoned his own martial soul—a scythe similar in shape to the Radiant Scythe. Although they looked alike, the difference was dramatic. Zhu Ziyang's was a bright, pure white, while Zhu Changhe's was a dull grey-white—highlighting the vast gap in light affinity between the two.

"So this is a high-grade martial soul… it's beautiful," Zhu Changhe murmured, eyes full of admiration and envy as he looked at his son's martial soul.
