Thanks to the upperclassman's guidance, Vincent Tan arrived at his dorm and met his new roommates.
Each dorm housed four people. Among them, there was one chubby guy and two skinny ones.
Vincent, by comparison, had the most balanced build.
After exchanging introductions, Vincent learned their names. The heavier guy was Jiang Tao, and the two slimmer ones were Chen Hang and Wang Fei.
"Vincent, we're heading to the net café. You coming with?" asked Wang Fei, a local who knew the area well.
Vincent was tidying his bed. Hearing the question, he shook his head. "Not today. I'm going to look around and get a feel for the place."
Seeing that, the others didn't press him. One by one, they left the dorm.
Once his bedding was folded, Vincent headed outside to begin his daily training.
Ever since he obtained Saitama's physique, his training had never once stopped.
Without it, there was no way his attributes would have broken 200 in three categories.
He started with a ten-kilometer run. To avoid drawing attention inside the school, he left campus and jogged along the main road outside.
A few minutes later, Vincent found himself near the edge of a junk market.
Suddenly, a thunderous explosion shook the air.
Boom!
The sound roared out from the market, followed by a violent shockwave that swept in all directions.
Debris flew across the street. Pedestrians screamed and fell as chaos broke out.
Even Vincent nearly lost his footing.
What the hell was that?
Startled, Vincent backed away, retreating to a safer distance.
Screams, cries, and panic echoed up and down the block.
Vincent quickly climbed up a nearby stairwell, gaining a higher vantage point to get a better look.
The explosion had originated from a storefront near the market entrance.
Now, the place was utterly wrecked. Smoke billowed up, and groans from the injured filled the air.
But what caught Vincent's attention wasn't the wreckage.
It was the figures darting across the rooftop above.
People were chasing one another moving at speeds far beyond what normal humans could manage.
One large man at the front leapt ten meters in a single bound, landing cleanly on the roof of a distant building.
Like something out of a superhero movie.
Of course, with Vincent's current abilities, he could do even more. But it was still shocking to see someone brazenly displaying such power in public.
To make things more interesting, the man's escape path led him straight toward Vincent.
Vincent quickly ducked into the shadows. He had no intention of playing hero. Staying under the radar was his current survival strategy.
Then a shout rang out from behind the fleeing man.
"Cao Kuian! Hand over the Super Soldier Serum!"
Cao Kuian, so that was the guy's name just let out a bark of laughter and ran even faster without looking back.
Vincent's ears perked up at the phrase: Super Soldier Serum.
If his memory served him right, that was something from the Marvel universe.
Captain America had gotten his powers from that stuff.
And now someone had it in the real world?
"Cao Kuian! You're dead meat!" the voice behind roared again, still hot on the chase.
Vincent remained where he was, hidden in the shadows, watching the chase go right past him.
If this had been before he obtained Saitama's power, he might have been tempted by the serum.
But now?
Compared to Saitama's constitution, that stuff was practically worthless.
Just then, Cao Kuian suddenly skidded to a halt.
Standing in his way was a young man with a cold, calculating expression.
Vincent watched closely. The moment Cao saw the newcomer, his expression turned grim.
Without a word, the young man struck.
He was fast unbelievably fast.
His hands blurred like a machine gun, launching strike after strike at inhuman speed.
A strange, pale blue energy surrounded his arms, flowing like water as it twisted and coiled with each move.
Vincent's eyes narrowed in surprise. He couldn't even follow the attacker's movements clearly.
Which only meant one thing he still wasn't strong enough.
Cao Kuian tried to block a few strikes but was quickly overwhelmed. Within seconds, he took multiple blows and collapsed to the ground, coughing up blood.
"Flowing Water Rock Smashing Fist?" he gasped, his eyes wide.
"At least you've got some knowledge," the cold youth sneered.
He turned to the others who had just caught up.
"Take him away."
