The cheerful atmosphere quickly faded, and everyone's eyes fell once more upon Ye Han, their expressions filled with disbelief. His second martial soul was simply too bizarre.
A humanoid figure clad in armor, gripping a long spear.
Its entire body shimmered with a crystalline azure hue, like water forged into steel. The faceplate resembled the visage of a scorpion, while the pauldrons and gauntlets mimicked the pincers of that venomous creature. Eight short spears, like scorpion legs, protruded from its back in an imposing array.
The long spear in its hand—sharp, curved, deadly—undeniably bore the likeness of a scorpion's tail.
Indeed, every trait that could be found on a scorpion was embodied in this fearsome armor.
Even Ye Han himself found it outrageous as he gazed upon his second martial soul.
He had imagined the possibility of Twin Martial Souls before. After all, his true body was that of the Ice Jade Emperor Scorpion, and he possessed the ultimate ice attribute among soul beasts. Awakening twin martial souls was not entirely beyond reach.
But he had never dreamed that one would be the embodiment of Ultimate Ice, and the other... this armored warrior with a scorpion's might.
Fortunately, the strange orb explained it all.
There was no doubt—his second martial soul had mutated due to the power of the system.
Lying against the firm and plush embrace of the Ice Empress, Ye Han calmly explained, "My second martial soul is called Wushuang War God. It does not require any soul rings. Once my first martial soul—Ultimate Ice—breaks through its limits, the War God will automatically generate an adaptive soul ring. This ring will grow in power as my cultivation and physique advance. However, it will only ever possess two abilities: amplification and offense."
"Monstrous…" the Ice Empress murmured under her breath.
She had witnessed the terrifying strength of the cultivation method Ye Han had created. If his power continued to grow and he had the support of this Wushuang War God, she feared that no one in this world would ever be able to match him.
That realization filled her heart with pride—but also mischief. Memories of the times he had bullied her came rushing back, and as she looked down at the boy in her embrace, a wicked thought arose. Now was her chance to get payback, before he grew truly invincible.
There's an old saying: discipline your little brother while he's still small. For the Ice Empress, it became: bully your husband while he's still weak.
She was not one for hesitation. Once she had a thought, she acted.
Thus, without warning, Ye Han found himself bewilderedly receiving a beating for no reason at all. His backside was left red and swollen.
"Ice'er, enough!" came the voice of the Snow Empress, who had been watching from the side. "Ye Han, what is that orb?"
Tears welled up in Ye Han's eyes. Still Snow'er is the kindest…
He struggled free from the Ice Empress's grasp and dove into Snow Empress's arms, just about to offer his thanks, when she added with a smile, "Let's save the rest of the punishment for later. We'll both take turns."
What the hell!
Ye Han's spirit nearly crumbled.
Snow Empress had changed. She no longer seemed the pure and noble deity of snow he once knew. Had she joined the dark side?
"This orb… it's a special treasure," he replied with a pitiful look, like a wronged little bride. "Or perhaps... you could call it a unique martial soul. Only I can use it, but it can't support soul rings. It serves a single purpose—traveling through time and space."
Not daring to hide anything under their fierce gazes, Ye Han obediently explained the orb's function. Then, cautiously, he added, "I'm still a kid... can you at least go easy on me?"
"We can!~" the two women answered in unison.
With a giggle, they reached out simultaneously with their devilish claws, descending upon poor, helpless little Ye Han.
After receiving a proper dose of "discipline," Ye Han shed two precious crocodile tears. Truly, he looked pitiful enough to move even the heavens.
One year later.
Above the vast blue sea, white clouds drifted lazily across the sky, while a golden sun hung high, radiating divine majesty.
The ocean surged beneath it, stretching boundlessly in every direction. Amid the endless waves, a great ship swayed gently, carried along like a leaf in a storm.
Compared to the mighty sea, the ship was but a speck. And compared to the ship, the four figures standing at its bow were even more insignificant.
Two men, two women.
At the forefront stood a young boy—eight, perhaps nine years of age—dressed in flowing white robes, as graceful and radiant as jade. Though youthful, there was already a trace of celestial elegance about him, as if he did not belong to the mortal realm.
Flanking him on either side were two stunning maidens. Especially the one in white—whether in looks or bearing—she was the very definition of peerless grace.
Her long silver-white hair fell to the ground, her figure elegant and flawless. Her translucent sky-blue eyes shone like crystal, clear enough to pierce through all illusions in the world.
The other woman, though slightly less breathtaking in features, matched her in allure.
With flowing dark green hair and a dress of verdant silk, she stood with cold beauty. Strange markings ran along both cheeks—mystic tattoos that did not detract from her charm, but rather added a wild, primal allure.
These three were none other than Ye Han and his two wives.
A step behind them stood a man in his forties, skin darkened from sun and sea, with a high nose bridge and deep-set eyes. Though thin and weathered, he exuded strength.
Despite his unassuming appearance, he was a formidable Soul Douluo of over eighty ranks. He was also the ship's owner, known throughout the seas by a single name—Captain Jack.
"Look ahead—that should be Sea God Island." Captain Jack handed Ye Han a brass spyglass, bowing respectfully.
An eighty-fourth ranked Soul Douluo, yet here he was, humbly serving like a subordinate.
Ye Han took the telescope and looked out. A hazy silhouette emerged on the horizon—it was indeed an island.
"Very well. Whether or not this is Sea God Island, I shall still reward you with a soul bone," Ye Han replied calmly.
His objective was clear: the inheritance of the Sea God. But the island was rarely visited, and no one could be certain this was the true location.
He didn't know the exact time period he was in, but he knew the Hall of the Holy Spirit was still active, and Qian Xunji still served as its Pope.
This confirmed one thing: it was not yet Tang San's era. The Sea God's legacy was still intact.
If Tang San could receive the Sea God's approval through his Blue Silver Emperor, then why couldn't I? Ye Han believed himself no less than anyone. His only concern was his identity.
"Don't worry," Snow Empress whispered, sensing his tension. She gently took his small hand. "If the inheritance is here, we will help you obtain it."
Captain Jack watched the scene before him, a strange look crossing his face. He had long been aware of their relationship after a year at sea—but knowing didn't make it easier to accept.
If he could, he would have shouted to the two Empresses: Let go of that boy! If there's trouble, come at me instead!
But he dared not. All he could do was silently curse in his heart: This is what true experts get to enjoy. I, a mere mortal, can only dream.
Captain Jack's envy and frustration were lost on Ye Han, whose tension slowly eased under Snow Empress's comforting touch.
The phrase "the horse dies before reaching the mountain" could not have been more apt.
Though the island lay before them, it still took three more hours before they reached its shores by twilight.
The island was vast and lush, with dense foliage stretching beyond view. From the ship, they could only glimpse the coastline—what lay deeper remained a mystery.
As they drew near, a long cry echoed from within the island.
A pure white albatross soared through the skies and in the blink of an eye hovered over the ship.
"Humans! This is no place for your kind. Leave at once."
It spoke with human tongue—an order of expulsion.
"Is this Sea God Island?" Snow Empress asked coolly.
Her voice was cold and distant, yet it swept through the heavens like thunder, stirring the sea into towering waves. The albatross, a seventy-thousand-year-old soul beast, quivered and nearly fell from the sky—and that was without her even targeting it.
"Who dares to act so wantonly on Sea God Island?" came a cold voice.
Several figures soared through the sky in response, landing with divine presence. At their head was a woman clad in crimson.
She appeared to be in her thirties, her mature curves accentuated by the blood-red robe she wore. Her beauty was striking, but more than that, she exuded an air of elegance and nobility that could not be faked.
So this is Bo Saixi… her reputation is well-deserved, Ye Han thought, nodding slightly. His eyes lingered for a moment longer than they should—especially on that ocean-like bosom—before quickly regaining composure.
Stepping forward, he cupped his fists and bowed. "Junior Ye Han, I come uninvited. I beg your forgiveness."
As the saying goes: Excessive politeness never offends; no one hits a smiling face.
Sure enough, the aura of the Sea God Island contingent eased slightly at his words.
