Cartel Cats: Know Your Rights

Chapter Twenty-One: Make Me Concede

It was a lively afternoon in Pawloma. The crew was split down the middle—half wanted to turn the old alley into a playground, the other half wanted a garden. Voices rose, tempers flared, and it looked like another classic Pawloma standoff.

Barbara Sanders called a timeout.

Barbara:

"Alright, let's do this the healthy way. We're gonna argue, but we're gonna do it right. Here's the rule: State your point, take turns, and nobody interrupts. The goal? Make me concede. If you can't, maybe you'll see things from a new angle—or at least get a pie in the face instead of a scar."

The crew laughed, tension easing.

Scene 1: The Concede Game

Sneezy Lila started,

"A playground will give the kittens a safe place to play. They'll stay out of trouble and get their energy out."

Rico countered,

"A garden will feed the neighborhood. We can grow our own food and teach the kittens how to take care of something."

Barbara nodded,

"Good points. Now, keep going. Listen, respond, and see if you can make me switch sides."

One by one, the crew took turns, each building on the last point, sometimes even switching sides themselves as they saw the value in the other's argument.

Scene 2: Playful Solutions

When the debate got heated, Mama Patch pulled out a squirt gun and gave a playful warning shot.

Mama Patch:

"If you can't keep it respectful, you'll get a splash instead of a say!"

Laughter broke the tension, and the crew kept going, more open-minded than before.

Scene 3: The Power of Conceding

Finally, Sneezy Lila grinned,

"You know what? I concede. The garden could have a playground in the middle. That way, we get both."

Rico shrugged,

"Yeah, I can't argue with that. You win, Lila. Or maybe we both do."

Barbara smiled,

"See? When you argue to understand, not just to win, you find solutions nobody saw coming. Sometimes it takes a pie in the face or a squirt gun fight, but it's a lot better than pulling out claws—or knives."

Scene 4: The Moral

Barbara:

"Healthy arguing means taking turns, listening, and being open-minded enough to let someone else change your mind. It's not about winning or losing—it's about making things better for everyone."

Mama Patch added,

"And if you ever get stuck, remember: a little laughter goes a long way."

Rights Recap Song

🎶

State your point, take your turn,

Listen close, and you might learn.

Healthy fights, open minds,

Better answers you will find.

Make me concede, change my view,

See the world from me and you.

If it ends with pie or spray,

We all win at the end of the day.

🎶

Spoken Outro (Barbara)

Next time you're in an argument,

try to make the other person concede—

not by shouting, but by listening and learning.

You might just find a better answer,

and you'll definitely find more respect.

And if all else fails—

keep the squirt gun handy.
