Auxiliary Volume: Fragments Before the Fall
You do not begin the game. You awaken within it.
I. On the Nature of Eidolon
They say Eidolon is a tower. Others say it's a spiral, collapsing inward. Truth? It is neither world nor illusion. It is a place where your "choices rot", and the rot grows sentient.
Every floor is a memory you never had.
Every trial is a truth you're not ready to accept.
Every death teaches you something. But not always something human.
II. The Players
You did not choose this.
Some fell. Some were swallowed. Some traded places with themselves in other mirrors.
All arrived in silence.
And with silence came The System.
"The System is not your ally. It is the script you've been cast into."
III. Fractured Souls and Hollow Cores
You are not whole anymore.
Your Soulcore broke on entry — shattered into Fractals that whisper, bleed, and devour.
No two fragments are the same.
Some give voice to shadows.
Others offer power in exchange for names you haven't spoken in years.
Those who grow strong don't level up.
They simply remember more than they should.
IV. Echoes, Enchantments & Envy
Echoes: Screams of your past, made useful. They manifest as powers — but they are never silent.
Enchantments: Memories etched into weapons. They evolve as your regrets deepen. Some become loyal. Some curse you.
Soulcore Fractals: Your soul is a pattern. Break the pattern, and reality breaks with it.
No two players inherit the same flaws.
But all carry at least one.
V. Of Monsters and Mirrors
They are not beasts.
They are echoes of failure, wearing bodies made of hunger.
"You don't fight them to win. You fight them to remain someone."
Some are Faceless.
Some know your name.
Some wear your name.
And some never existed until you dreamed them.
VI. The Unspoken Ranking
Ranks exist — but are rarely spoken aloud.
No one survives long enough to memorize them all.
Still, there are whispers of titles:
Fragmented
Resonant
Shattered
Anchorless
And one more.
None remember what comes after that.
Those who did are now monsters.
VII. Materials That Should Not Exist
Power is not gained.
It is stolen.
Digested.
Remembered wrongly.
Eidol Crystals – Solidified memory trauma. Don't touch raw.
Concept Ash – Leftovers from broken Trial Rules. Use at your own risk.
Monster Cores – Not all are compatible. You'll know when one bites back.
Wound Shards – Pieces of yourself, lost to the Floor. Handle with guilt.
VIII. The Door Without a Floor
You may see it once.
Do not speak to it.
Do not knock.
If it knocks, it is already too late.
"The Door speaks in voices you love. And offers truths you hate."
No Floor contains it.
No Map shows it.
But all who hear it wish they hadn't.
IX. Final Fragment: The Cost
You may become strong.
You may even survive.
But what you leave behind — your memories, your guilt, your name — will be taken.
And rewritten.
"You do not gain levels in Eidolon.
You lose pieces of yourself, until only what is necessary remains."
