Chapter 55 - Chapter 55: The Birth of the Song God!

"Sure, what do you want to ask? Go ahead." Gu You agreed cheerfully, grinning inside — the more shocked they were, the more he enjoyed that feeling of surprising others.

"You're really a level-five blacksmith?" Mu Chen swallowed hard. A nine-year-old at level five — was that something a human could even achieve?

"Of course." Gu You raised his right hand, white light flashing as a level-five blacksmith badge appeared in his palm, engraved with the mark of the Tiandou City Blacksmiths' Association.

Mu Chen trembled as he took the badge. It was real. It was actually real!

"Good! Good! Excellent…"

Mu Chen repeated the word "good" three times, his excitement overflowing. "I'll handle your Eastsea Academy admission right away." Without waiting another second, he hurried off, not even bothering to wait for his daughter Mu Xi's level-two blacksmith assessment to finish.

Gu You scratched his head, a little bemused. Was being a level-five blacksmith really worth that much fuss? Why did Mu Chen look like some hick from the countryside seeing a skyscraper for the first time? Even Feng Wuyu, when he realized Gu You's god-forged potential, had only been shocked for a few days before calming down.

Meanwhile, Mu Chen pulled strings, contacting Eastsea Academy's headmaster Yu Zhen via soul communicator and explaining the situation. On the other end, Yu Zhen readily agreed, saying they could admit Gu You immediately.

"Director Long, why are you calling me right now?" Long Hengxu pushed up his glasses with a sigh. Lately, the principal had been piling endless tasks on him, using him as the go-to troubleshooter.

"It's like this," Yu Zhen's voice came smoothly over the line. "The Eastsea Blacksmiths' Association says they have a peerless genius who's about to enroll here. I think the only class worthy of someone like that is your Zero Class. Once the paperwork's done, I'll directly assign him there. What do you think?"

"Uh… of course, no problem. But President, has the association agreed to sign our usual Zero Class agreement?" Long Hengxu couldn't help but sound skeptical. Which so-called genius would choose their Eastsea Academy when better schools were plentiful? The Eastsea Blacksmiths' Association was one of the few across the continent with Divine Blacksmiths. If the kid was that talented, any top academy would snap him up.

The agreement Long referred to was a somewhat harsh contract: students voluntarily signed on, agreeing not to transfer before completing the junior and senior divisions, in exchange for maximum resource investment. On paper, it sounded great — but in truth, it was a way to lock down rising stars for six or seven years, binding them into the academy's service.

The other end of the call went quiet for a moment. Finally, Yu Zhen said calmly, "No need for the contract this time. Just getting the association's support is already a huge favor. And believe me, this kid really is a genius. When I first saw his profile, I thought it was impossible, but you'll understand later. With him here, the academy's reputation won't just improve a little — it'll skyrocket."

Long Hengxu's eyes widened. No contract? "But… President, if the other students find out—"

"Enough," Yu Zhen interrupted lightly. "I'm telling you this because I trust your discretion. Keep it quiet."

"…Yes, understood." The call ended.

Gu You checked the time — already past six in the evening. He sighed. Mu Chen had promised the whole thing would be settled in a day, but here they were, still waiting.

Well, at least he hadn't been idle. While waiting, Gu You had wandered through the association's various forge rooms, observing blacksmiths at work, studying techniques, and deepening his understanding of different metals. All of this was laying the groundwork for his future path as a master blacksmith.

Suddenly —

Buzz!

His soul communicator rang. Answering it, he heard Mu Chen's voice. "Hey, sorry about the delay. The admission paperwork will need another day — government approvals, you know how it is. I'll have someone arrange a room for you tonight. Whatever you need, just ask."

Gu You blinked, feeling a mix of amusement and exasperation. So they all knew his number, but he didn't have theirs? And couldn't Mu Chen have told him earlier? With an eight-star Divine Blacksmith pulling strings, surely things could've moved faster.

At that moment, cheers erupted across the fifteenth floor of the blacksmiths' association.

"She did it! Miss Mu Xi succeeded!"

"The thousand refinements! She completed the thousand refinements! We've just witnessed history!"

Gu You paused, then smiled. If Mu Xi achieving the thousand refinements was considered history, then wouldn't he count as living myth? But he didn't interrupt their celebration. Instead, he clapped and cheered along, knowing full well that people needed encouragement to keep pushing forward.

As the excitement died down and evening fell, Gu You followed a familiar figure.

"Guest — sir, this way please." Yun Xiaoling smiled sweetly, leading him.

"Huh, it's you again? Weren't you working the front desk earlier?" Gu You chuckled.

Inside the luxurious guest room arranged by Mu Chen on the association's eighteenth floor — a floor usually reserved for top-level figures — Yun Xiaoling led him in.

"Heh, well, Master Cen figured I knew you better, so he asked me to show you up. Honestly, this is the first time I've even set foot on such a high floor myself." Yun Xiaoling leaned slightly over the balcony rail, her youthful beauty framed by the night city lights.

Gu You shook his head. "You think this is high?"

She blinked. "Isn't it?"

Gu You gazed out at the stunning night skyline of Eastsea City. "One day, if you get the chance, aim for a top-tier university — something in finance or business. Who knows, maybe by then I'll be a big boss in need of talented people like you." He grinned playfully.

Yun Xiaoling let out a light laugh. "I'll go then." Something in her eyes flickered with resolve, as if she'd made a quiet decision, and she left without looking back.

Gu You exhaled softly, watching her slip out the door.

Flopping onto the bed, he pulled out his communicator and started browsing. Curious, he searched up some classic Douluo Continent songs — only to nearly burst out laughing.

What was this so-called "hot-blooded music section"? More like the Soul Scattering Cringe Zone.

Smirking, Gu You registered a new account on one of the local music platforms, naming it: "A Dragon God."

Rolling up his sleeves, he cracked his knuckles.

Tonight, he would show the people of Douluo what a true schoolkid god-tier song was.

His pick? Lone Brave — lyrics by Tang Tian, composed and arranged by Qian Lei, sung by Eason Chan.

Booting up a Douluo-world AI software to adjust the audio settings, Gu You carefully recalled every word, every note.

"All those brave ones…"

"Your worn-out dolls, your masks, your true self…"

Like a scribe feverishly drafting a masterpiece, he poured his heart into recreating the song.

He smiled faintly. Soon, he thought, the whole Douluo world would hear the voice of a new legend — the Song God was about to rise.
