Chapter 1 - His demand

"I want a divorce".

Alexander said, standing at the center of the spacious bedroom with a gloomy expression, his gaze coldly fixed forward. The somber atmosphere was at odds with the room's cozy ambiance, created by sumptuous fabrics, exquisite furnishings, and a delicate lighting fixture near the bed. The walls, adorned with artwork, added a unique touch.

Aurora sat on the edge of their king-size bed, wearing her night robe, and inquired incredulously, A divorce? Not expecting this from Alexander so suddenly.

She had been warned, on their wedding day, that this might be the outcome. Despite knowing it would eventually happen, she never expected it to be this soon.

Yes, Aurora, I'm done with this marriage, Alexander declared calmly. I have given it my all, and I want to be with the woman I love.

The phrase "the woman I love". Felt like a sharp needle piercing Aurora's heart. She had always known Alexander never loved her, yet she had hoped he would come to love her after marriage.

Aurora rose from the bed, the illuminating light fixture and natural sunlight streaming in from the window accentuating her skin's pearlescent glow. Her long brown hair flowed down her shoulders, and her full bust moved as she walked towards Alexander. Despite the pain, she approached him, standing breathtakingly close.

He gazed down at her delicate oval face, blue eyes, and rose-colored lips.

Aurora took hold of Alexander's arm. "Alexander," she said, her voice trembling. Can't we stay married while you're with her? Must we divorce first before you can love her? If you can love her even in my presence, it's possible for you to love me. Her lips struggled to contain her words.

Aurora's eyes locked onto Alexander's, her heart filled with a mix of emotions. She had loved him since childhood, and fulfilling her lifelong dream of becoming his wife had brought her immense joy. She thought he had loved and treasured her too, especially when they were younger. His father's request for them to marry had seemed like a dream come true. But now, everything felt like a lie.

Alexander bent his head to meet Aurora's gaze, his voice cool and detached. I can't, Aurora. Not this time. I've endured two years of marriage, and it's all been to bring Diana back into my life. Despite my parents' opposition, I've succeeded in reuniting with her – all because of you.

Alexander's chiseled face and sparkling brown eyes, along with his thick lips and neatly trimmed beard, still took Aurora's breath away. His tall, well-built physique drew admiring glances from countless women. Even now, as he stood before her with hurtful words, Aurora couldn't deny his attractiveness.

In a sweet, alluring voice, she whispered, i still love you, Alexander. Her gentle smile and gaze upward at him shocked Alexander, and he snapped in anger, Are you crazy, Aurora? I just told you I want a divorce, and you're telling me you still love me?

Aurora's calmness didn't falter. She had always been even-tempered, striving to keep Alexander pleased and content. Tears streaming down her face, she pleaded, Alexander, can't you stay married? I swear I won't be a nuisance. I won't question you. Please don't make us go through a divorce.

Alexander's deep voice cut through her words. Stop with the childish speeches, Aurora. Don't act like a little chick trying to cling to something that's already gone. Before she could respond, his phone rang. A brief glance at the caller ID brought a smile to his face.

I'll be back soon. Think it through. I need your response soon. he said, answering the call with a warm greeting. Hello, Diana. How's your night? I haven't been able to stop thinking about you. With that, he left their bedroom, making his way to the living room and then the courtyard, leaving Aurora alone with her tears.

On the other end of the phone, Diana's voice sparkled with joy. I can't stop thinking about you, Alexander. Now that you're the CEO of DK company limited, we can finally be together.

Alexander's eyes shone with happiness. Yes, my love. My father can't prevent me from being with you anymore. Two years ago, he tried to control me by threatening to disown me and forcing me to marry a gold-digger. But that's all behind us now. I'm in charge, and nothing will stop us from being together.

Diana's laughter echoed through the phone, and Alexander's voice softened. I need to attend to something important to finalize our plans, my love. I'll fill you in later. Right now, I have to get busy.

Alexander's demeanor changed dramatically when speaking to Diana, revealing a softer side that contrasted with his cold, domineering attitude towards Aurora and others.

When Alexander entered the bedroom, he found Aurora brokenly weeping, her body shaking as she sat on the bed. His gaze fell upon her, and for a moment, he seemed taken aback by her distress. He had warned her about the potential outcome of their marriage, but witnessing her pain still affected him.

Moving towards the briefcase on the chair, he spoke indifferently, What's your response now, Aurora? His tone seemed oblivious to her sobbing.

Aurora wiped away her tears and peered up at Alexander, her voice low. "I'm pregnant, Alexander".
