Chapter 1 - Origin of the Rings

A realm beyond time and understanding—untouched by gods, unseen by mortals.

Here, in a place where even the concept of existence dissolves, silence reigns with ancient authority. The space is cloaked in a void deeper than black, so absolute it seems to devour light itself.

Yet, piercing this infinite dark are orbs—countless shimmering bubbles suspended in nothingness. Each one pulses with its own heartbeat of color and light, flickering like stars frozen in place. They are not mere lights, but entire universes, enclosed and fragile. Some burn with golden flames of order. Others crackle with red chaos. A few swirl endlessly with clouds of uncertainty, tangled threads of fate spinning in every direction.

Then, amidst the silence...

"I'm bored."

A voice, ancient and amused, echoed through the void.

"Oh! I know. What about… some entertainment?"

There was a pause. An invisible presence pondered in the dark, tapping on thoughts older than time itself.

"Hmmmm. But what kind of entertainment?"

As the entity mused, one of the universe-bubbles flickered violently. It trembled as though resisting some great inner pressure—then, suddenly, it collapsed. Its form twisted into a perfect ring before imploding in a brilliant flash of cosmic light.

The explosion was vast, a blast of energy so intense that even gods would have been obliterated by its fury. And yet, the nearby universes were untouched. Some hidden veil—some force between dimensions—contained the eruption, like glass shielding a flame.

The entity leaned closer, fascinated.

"Oh-ho… now that's interesting."

"What if… what if I created rings that held such power?"

The thought sparked excitement.

"Yes! But not for myself… no, that would be boring. What if… I built an arena—a battleground—and summoned fighters from across the multiverse? Let them clash… not with their own strength, but with the powers sealed within these rings!"

The void trembled as the idea took shape.

"Yes, yes! Let's make it fun."

With a simple gesture, the entity extended its hand. In the air, rings began to materialize—spinning, glowing, humming with raw potential. Some gleamed with devastating power. Others shimmered with subtle trickery. Each ring was different. Each one… a weapon.

"I'll call these powers… Skills."

The entity floated in the void, its unseen gaze falling upon one of the newly formed rings—an obsidian band etched with swirling patterns of stars, pulsing faintly with immense, unstable energy.

"Ring of Supernova."

A whisper echoed in the void as information manifested before the entity's mind.

Skill: Supernova

Effect: Unleashes a dense orb of cosmic energy, 1 light-year in diameter, within a 100 light-year cast range.

After 5 seconds, the orb detonates with the force of a true supernova, incinerating everything within a 10 light-year radius.

Damage Output: 100,000,000,000,000

The entity stared.

"…That's kinda overkill."

It rubbed its invisible chin, amused and slightly alarmed at its own creation.

"There's no point if the battle ends in one move. It'll be fun for one second…"

"Let's balance it a little."

The void trembled softly as the entity began reshaping the laws of the game it had just invented.

"First, we'll divide all skills into five categories."

It raised five fingers—each glowing with a distinct color.

Offensive – Skills that deal damage or disrupt enemies.

Defensive – Skills that block, absorb, or reflect damage.

Utility – Skills that support, manipulate the battlefield, or enhance other skills.

Movement – Skills focused on positioning, dodging, or teleportation.

Ultimate – Devastating powers… but not so easily used.

"There. That should make fights more strategic."

"Now… restrictions."

With a flick of its hand, floating runes etched themselves into the rings, embedding a new system:

Rule 1: Cooldowns.

Each skill must rest after use—no spam, no chaos.

Rule 2: Skill Points (SP).

Each skills costs SP. The more powerful the skill, the more SP it consumes. Let's say... 10 maximum SP per fighter. And it regenerates slowly—maybe 3 per turn?

Rule 3: Ultimate Skills need no SP…

But—they require special conditions. Perhaps damage taken, time passed, combos achieved, or specific ring interactions.

The entity grinned, delighted by its own brilliance.

Ring of Supernova

Type: Ultimate

Effect: Unleashes a dense orb of cosmic energy, 1 meter in diameter, within a 20 meter cast range.

After 3 seconds, the orb detonates with the force of a true supernova, incinerating everything within a 5 meter radius.

Damage Output: 25 dmg

> Condition: The skill activates only when the fighter's HP drops below 30% and the fighter has landed at least 2 successful skill hits within the current battle.

CD: 600 seconds

"Yes… now it's not just a battle of power, but of timing, strategy, and will."

And with that, the rings continued to orbit, glowing softly as the first set of rules of the multiversal combat were written in the fabric of the void.

The rings were no longer just tools. They were destiny itself.
