Secret: Xu Shiyan 's husband has a child. As he tries to piece together a life he has no memory of, Xu Shuyi finds himself caught between a forgotten past and an uncertain future. The man claiming to be his husband is distant, cold—and hiding something. And the child? The truth behind it all might be more devastating than he can handle. --- Excerpt: “Let’s divorce,” the man said coldly over the phone. “Why?” Xu Shuyi asked, his voice low. “What do you mean, why? Chapter 1 - Lost memory

In a hospital,

Beep… Beep… Beep…

A man could be seen lying on a hospital bed, looking a little pale and sick, but that still could not hide his handsome face.

He tried to open his eyes but it felt heavy. After several attempts Xu Shuyi finally blinked and opened his eyes, But his surroundings were different. "Where am I?"

This was clearly not his room, nor was it his house.

As he looked around, a woman suddenly burst in. Judging by her attire, she was obviously a nurse. She had come to check on the patient—only to see that he was awake.

"Are you awake?" the nurse asked, a little surprised.

She had asked, but no response came. She walked closer to him.

"Do you feel any pain in your body?" she asked.

"No," Xu Shuyi shook his head coldly.

"Okay. Let me call the doctor." She walked out of the room and headed straight for the doctor's office. "Doctor, the patient is awake!"

Hearing that, the doctor jumped up from his seat, visibly shocked. The patient had been in a coma for about two years, with no sign of waking up. His family had already given up on him.

Xu Shuyi sat in bed, confused. Why was he in the hospital? The last thing he remembered was being in a classroom, falling asleep and now this?

"How is your body, Mr. Xu?" the doctor asked as he stepped into the room.

"Mr.?" Xu Shuyi managed to repeat. His voice was raspy, but that was to be expected after not speaking for so long.

The doctor ran a quick check-up on him. "It seems you are stable, but to be on the safe side, you should stay another week."

"What happened to me?" Xu Shuyi asked. His voice was still a bit strange but steady. "Did I faint in the classroom?"

"Classroom?" the doctor echoed, clearly confused. "Do you not remember what happened to you?"

"You were poisoned with a deadly toxin, but we managed to flush it from your system before it reached your major organs."

Poison?

Xu Shuyi was stunned. Poison? That did not match the last memory he had. Was he poisoned while sleeping?

"What is your name?" the doctor asked, his curiosity and suspicion growing.

"Xu Shuyi."

"How old are you now?"

"Seventeen years. Doctor, why are you asking me these questions?"

The doctor's face turned pale. The nurse, who had followed him into the room, was visibly shocked as well.

The nurse could not hold back. "What year is it?"

"2018," Xu Shuyi replied, growing irritated with the odd questions.

Without a word, the nurse pulled out her phone and held it up to show him the date.

It was July, 2025.

Xu Shuyi's mouth dropped open. His brain could not process the weight of that information.

Seeing his stunned expression, the doctor tried to reassure him. "You do not have to worry. I think you may have forgotten the last five years of your life. I will call your husband to—"

"Which husband?" Xu Shuyi cut in immediately. Since he was young, he had always been sure of one thing: he was not interested in men. So when exactly did he get a husband?

"Yes, your husband," the doctor confirmed. "You might have forgotten him too, but you are married to a man."

"A man?"

"Yes, a man," the doctor said, walking out of the room with the nurse.

Xu Shuyi wanted to call them back but stopped himself. He needed time to process everything.

1. He had lost five years of memory.

2. He was married to a man.

3. He was twenty-three.

None of that was easy to accept.

Trying to calm himself, he began taking in his surroundings.

The room he was in was clearly more luxurious than a standard hospital room. He was certain his family had nothing to do with it. His parents were neither stingy or just poor. Ever since he told them he had no interest in the family business, his father had been angry, and his mother disappointed.

She had been especially disappointed when he gave up his inheritance rights to the adopted son. But honestly, that was not his concern. He preferred racing to managing companies.

The door opened again, and the nurse returned.

"We could not reach your husband, but do not worry. We will inform him as soon as we do," she said.

Xu Shuyi shook his head. "Do not worry about it."

He was not too bothered by the idea of a so-called husband. He knew he was straight and that he loved women. He did not believe anything without proof.

"Where is my phone?" Xu Shuyi asked. At his age, he was sure he owned one.

The nurse reached into her pocket and handed it to him.

Scrolling through the phone, Xu Shuyi was searching for any contact he could recognize—until one number stood out. It seemed to glare back at him.

Ru Yan.

For some reason, the name triggered something. Feeling a strange pull, he tapped the number, and it began to ring.

"Hello."

A deep voice rumbled through the speaker.

"Hello. I am Xu Shuyi."

"I know," the voice, Ru Yan responded.

"I am in the hospital. Can you come?" Xu Shuyi asked. He did not remember who this person was, but he could not deny the strange closeness he felt toward the voice.

After a few seconds of silence, the man finally responded.

"Text me the location."

And just like that, the call ended.

Xu Shuyi stared at the screen. He had no idea what hospital this was or how to get the address, so he handed the phone to the nurse.

"Please write the hospital name and send it to him," he said

The nurse collected the phone and typed the address to Ru Yan.

"Are you hungry?" the nurse asked Xu Shuyi, a trace of pity flashing in her eyes. His family had not visited, and his so-called lover was not even picking up the call. He was alone.

"Yes," Xu Shuyi replied. He had been so deep in thought that he did not notice the hunger, but now it felt like a thousand an

ts were gnawing at his intestines.

"I am coming. Let me get something for you to eat," the nurse said, walking out of the ward.
