Cherreads

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 — The Billionaire’s Son Enters the Lion’s Den

The limousine rolled to a gentle stop in front of Seiryu Academy's towering gates.

Ren Arakawa sat stiffly in the back seat, his hands nervously clutching his knees. Through the tinted glass, he could see the grand entrance, flanked by cherry blossom trees in full bloom, petals floating like delicate pink snowflakes. The school was breathtaking, like something straight out of a romance anime — but for Ren, it felt like the entrance to a nightmare.

The driver opened the door.

"Master Ren," the man said softly, "we've arrived."

Ren hesitated, swallowing hard before stepping out. His perfectly tailored uniform clung awkwardly to his frame — a white dress shirt, navy blazer, and dark slacks. Everything about him screamed polished, yet inside, his nerves were screaming even louder.

Dozens of girls in identical uniforms milled around the courtyard, chatting, laughing, some stealing curious glances toward the arriving limousine.

And now, all their eyes locked on him.

The billionaire's son.

The only male student ever allowed into Seiryu Academy.

Ren's stomach twisted.

A soft breeze carried whispers.

"That's him."

"The Arakawa heir."

"He's… kinda cute."

"Do you think he's really that inexperienced?"

"Imagine the prize money if you could turn him into a man…"

The words stung like invisible needles.

Ren lowered his head and started walking toward the administration building, his heart pounding in his chest. The girls' gazes followed him like spotlights, each filled with curiosity, mischief, and something far more dangerous — desire.

He already hated this place.

Inside the grand hall, Headmistress Hayami awaited him.

She was a tall, elegant woman in her early forties, with sharp features and piercing eyes that radiated authority. She offered him a polite smile that somehow felt more like a business transaction than a genuine welcome.

"Mr. Arakawa," she greeted, extending her hand. "Welcome to Seiryu Academy. Your father has made... quite the generous contribution to our institution."

Ren shook her hand weakly. "Th-thank you…"

She studied him carefully, as if evaluating prey. "I trust you're aware of the... unique circumstances of your enrollment."

Ren's throat tightened. Of course he knew.

His father had explained everything in cold, calculated words just days ago.

"You will attend Seiryu Academy. It's time you learned to interact with women — like a man. These girls will help you. And whoever succeeds in transforming you... will be rewarded accordingly."

"But Father, I—"

"Enough."

"You're seventeen. My heir will not bring shame to this family."

Ren forced a small nod, avoiding the Headmistress's intense stare.

"Excellent," she continued. "You'll be assigned to Dormitory C. Room 204. Your class schedule begins tomorrow. Please understand, young Mr. Arakawa — while you are the first male student here, you are not above the rules."

"Yes, ma'am."

"And one more thing," she added, her smile widening slightly, "you may find that many of our students will... take a special interest in you. Do your best to enjoy your time here."

Enjoy?

Ren's stomach churned.

As he left the office, he wandered aimlessly through the pristine hallways, feeling the weight of dozens of stares following him. Girls giggled behind their hands, some whispering as he passed, others boldly locking eyes with him.

One particularly bold girl — tall, blonde, with an unnaturally large chest pressed tightly against her blouse — stepped directly into his path.

"Hi there," she purred, her voice dripping with honey. "You must be Ren Arakawa."

Ren froze. His mouth went dry.

"I… um… y-yeah," he stammered, eyes darting everywhere except at her.

The girl giggled, leaning in dangerously close. Her perfume overwhelmed him. "I'm Aiko. If you ever need help... adjusting, you can always find me."

She winked, her fingers lightly grazing his arm before sauntering away, her hips swaying with deliberate exaggeration.

Ren stood rooted in place, heart hammering.

What the hell was he doing here?

By evening, he finally made it to his dorm room.

The sun was setting, casting an orange glow through the large windows. The room was surprisingly spacious — clearly renovated to accommodate their special guest. He collapsed onto the bed, covering his face with both hands.

This is a disaster, he thought.

Just then, a soft knock came at the door.

Ren jolted upright, heart skipping.

Please don't let it be another girl.

The door opened slightly, and an elderly female staff member peeked inside. "Excuse me, Mr. Arakawa. Your uniform package was delivered."

Relieved, Ren thanked her and shut the door again.

He sat back down, staring at the ceiling.

How long could he survive this place?

He didn't belong here.

He couldn't handle girls, let alone dozens of them actively pursuing him.

But as his mind spiraled, something unexpected happened.

Through the open window, a faint voice drifted in.

Soft. Melodic.

A humming tune carried by the evening breeze.

Curious, Ren got up and peeked outside.

There, in the garden below, under the blossoming cherry trees, stood a girl.

She was breathtaking.

Long black hair cascading like silk down her back, swaying gently in the wind. Her violet eyes seemed to glow faintly under the soft moonlight. She stood there alone, humming quietly to herself, completely unaware of his gaze.

She wasn't giggling like the others.

She wasn't staring at him.

She seemed… distant. Untouchable. Mysterious.

And beautiful in a way that made his chest tighten.

Ren didn't know why, but in that moment — he couldn't look away.

Sakura Nishimura.

The girl who would soon turn his entire world upside down.
