Chapter 1 - Time’s Up

Driving after a few drinks, buzzed or not is frightening enough, driving home at 2am knowing other drivers have had a few(or a few too many drinks) is even scarier. Riding with my windows down feeling nothing but tired, I'm surrounded by a vulgar smell; the smell of death. It envelops me in the car and as I continue to drive, the smell lingers. I can't help but wonder whether it's just an animal or a sign of what could be coming.

While I continue driving, now psyching myself out I'm left to watch the drivers surrounding me carefully. I have three seconds before I process the crash, the pain and the darkness.

I wait for what feels an eternity until I hear the sirens wailing around me, and I say a silent prayer to God for sparing me. It all happened so fast I'm still unable to process what happened, whose fault and where I ended up.

I'm pulled from my thoughts when I hear saws working their way to me, I hear police officers arriving on scene making their way through to assess and analyze the damage.
