Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 Shooting Star in the Deapths

"Shit, shit, shit!'

Bells rang and people cheered while black whistle descended into the great abyss. Many cheered on, even popping off loud small handheld things of confetti. They ran a bit faster as people started to close off the walkway in awe. Their hands gripped onto other peoples shoulders as they pushed through, their feet stomped into the ground as they pushed forth. Others looked back in disgust while this figure continued to push forward, knocking the crowd back.

They push through and fall onto the ground from the force of their pull. And yet, the last black whistle descends into the abyss.

"No! Fuck! I was so close!" They yelled out in anger, gripping their fists through their gloves as they slammed their right fist down on the uneven stones of the walkway.

People watched a bit longer before drifting away and heading back to their everyday lives. The person sulked before another walked over.

"Aw come on, cheer up, you know if you were to sneak on there you wouldn't get far. Come on sis, let's go back home." The girl snickered at her little sister and helped her up before the woman pulled her hand away and dusted off her body.

"Uh huh. Whatever. It's not my fault they won't let me descend. Besides, How'd you know I'd be here?" The woman stubbornly crossed her arms over her chest and glanced at her sister's eyes.

"Then maybe you should be able to stomach yourself better!" She let out a little laugh and teased.

"You wouldn't miss an opportunity to descend." She let out a soft sigh. "NYA!" The woman growled at her before storming home and leaving her sister behind.

"Storming off doesn't make you cool you know!" She quickly followed behind as she ran off to catch up.

As they reached their home Nya grabbed her keys and stuck one in the locket before the door swung open.

"SISSYS!" They lunged outwards and hugged them out as Nya smiled and hugged her sister back...yet her little sister was suffocating from the strength of the hug.

"Stop.... It. ." She gasped out until she was let go.

"Hehe i always forget how fragile you are

Ray teased and swoops around to walk

back to the table for surprise dinner. "Tada! Dinner is served. I got a deal from my job earlier and thought I'd make something tasty tonight- Demonfish Miso Soup!" She held out her arms in a presenting manner and shook her hands lightly.

"Holy shit this looks amazing!" Nya ran over and sat down immediately, she grabbed at the spoon sitting on the table and dug into the bowl. She slurped up the soup and kicked her legs in the chair, pulling out the sharp ribs along the side. "I think I'm just gonna go to sleep." Ray and Nya both perked up and looked at each other for a quick moment.

"Aw come on.. I know you're not feeling well but if you let this food go to waste I'll kill you." Ray let out a deep chuckle and pat her sisters back roughly.

"Alright! Alright... I'll eat the damn soup." She spat out and took a seat along the side of the table while Ray sat at the end. The three of them ate dinner until each bowl was scrapped clean of its meal. Nya got up and offered to clean the bowls since ray was the one to make the meal. "Okay, now I'm going to bed." Their younger sister spoke while heading off to her room to go lay down. As she shut the door behind her she took off her outfit and hung it on the door. She slipped into something a bit more comfortable and sat back on her mattress. She let out a soft sigh and laid back to rest, pulling the covers over to get warm. As she pushed her head into the pillow the window glowed with the night sky, drawing in her attention as she heard loud yelling and cheering from the living room, it sounded like her sisters we're play fighting again.

"They never really shut up, do they?" She

shook her head and slowly nuzzled into her pillow as she drifted off to sleep. As the night went on, stars dimmed as the greatest one burned bright, the sun has risen yet again.

"DARKKKK! 'I The woman widened her eyes as she flung herself forward, clutching her chest in surprise. Nya swung open her door with a smile.

"Heyy~ So like, can you go get me some stuff from the market?" She held her hand inwards and shook her wrist side to side, showing off a little piece of paper with some items written on it with black ink. "Ugh.. Sure- yeah.." Dark rubbed her head gently and shuffled to the side of her bed and got up slowly. She glanced at the door, shutting it on her hand which made the note fall. Nya pulled away her hand and yelled.

"Dick!" She pouted and walked off down the hallway.

She slid off her sleepwear and put on a tighter outfit that felt compacted for battle. I mean, she couldn't say she wasn't a fan of Ozen. She looked like a more undead version of her with that outfit of her own, the walking dead strikes Orths town! She snickered at the thought and fixed her wild hair. It was black like the abyss and curly like twist branches. As her hair fell over her right eye she tried to push it back but sadly didn't have a hair clip. The cloak rested on a coat rack, it was torn towards the bottom from adventuring the pit and being pulled out over and over again. She slid it on and clipped it together.

Now she was ready to face... Grocery shopping.

"Does she actually need this stuff?" Dark leaned down and picked up the paper on the floor before shrugging. She opened up her bedroom door and walked out to see Nya sitting at the dinner table while rubbing her sore hand. She flipped off Dark and glared.

Dark shook her head and left. It seems like Ray already got a head start on her job. Everyday it felt like Ray worked themselves closer to death, she always came home tired and yet, she cooked us dinner and helped us clean up.

Yeah well it's bullshit. That's why I'm going to find a special grade artifact that will make us stupid rich. She smirked, yeah that's it. That will fix the money problems. She struck a cool pose, a few people walked by and looked at her like she was a weirdo.

"Now, to that shop.." She headed off as her cloak covered up her limbs as she walked, looking like a ghost in broad daylight. She took a dead stop as she noticed a store that's been closed for months was finally opened again.

"No way.." She grins and walks up a few stone steps and pushes the door inwards as the bell rings.

There stood a figure with soft black and purple hair cleaning up behind her. "Monix!" Dark yelled out at her and smirked. The woman turned around, she was dressed with a nice tight suit and long pants, also wearing a cloak but without all the tears. The colors were slightly bright with more streaks of purple.

"Well, well, well. I knew you'd be the first one back. So what can I get you?" The woman grins at Dark, leaning her side against the countertop.

Dark looked around the store, covered in relics and other helpful treasure for cave divers.

"Yeah well you're always diving down through the depths, not my fault I have to rob you while you're gone." She shrugs with a playful grin and moves over to the counter.

"Nah i just need what's on this list, unless you don't have stock yet?" She pulled out the paper and slid it to her on the counter. "Yeah, but I doubt I got food." Monix leaned down and looked under the counter.

"Oh and a hair clip." Dark said quickly while pointing her finger down a bit.

"Alright here." Monix raised herself back up and showed off the three items.

"Self made shampoo, cutlery, and a small sun sphere- And! That hair clip." Monix got a few things of paper and started to wrap up her items. "So.. Where's Moz?" She asked her as Monix glared at Dark in the eyes.

"He's still in the Abyss. Listen I was running low on everything but he's a grown man, he can handle himself alone." She glanced away and handed over her items. "Got anything else you want?"

"Yeah, strip for me."

Monix blinked at her and laughed.

"Shut the fuck up and get out of my store." She snickers a bit more as Dark grabs her items and walks out, waving at her friend goodbye.

She walks back home and steps up some stones to reach the door, pushing it open to see her sister Nya excited. She was dressed up in a silly cape and poofy shorts with another poofy hat that had a rose lined in stitches on the side, her poofy curls hugged the sides of her cheeks and neck. She also wore a tight shirt that was a one piece. It was a nice clean white. Her color palette was bright and soft, cute as she ld want it.

"Where are you going?" Dark asked as she walked over and sat down the items, unwrapping them and putting only a few away before receiving an answer.

"Down to the Abyss... Wanna come~ ?" She grabbed a bag and tossed the sun sphere inside as well with a few things for cooking and drinking. Dark smiled and dropped everything. Running into her bedroom to pack a bag, stuffing it full with tools and weapons.

Then they both set off on an adventure, both walked up to the netherworld's gates and smiled.

"Come on, before they reangle you back in, or they might just say you're a lost cause this time." Nya let out a laugh and patted her sister's shoulder and walked down the hill. Nyas gloved hands ran against the wall of the Abyss, feeling every bump with a grin on her face.

As the two walked down, minutes turned into hours as the two were almost 500 meters down in the Abyss. Both Nya and Dark had collected quite a few artifacts for their journey.

"Why'd you need me to buy that artifact if we were just gonna go cave diving?" Dark looked to the side a bit as she noticed her sister stopping and sitting down.

"Huh.. I Guess I made you grab it for nothing, huh?" She laughed and grabbed out her cooking kit with a bottle of water.

"Heat this up while I prepare the meat." Nya got up and grabbed a few branches and a stone nearby, cleaning them both off and used them both as tools to prep the meat on. Dark looked at it, it was more fish again. She guessed Ray got a good deal on the food.

"Do you wanna keep going? Sun hasn't set yet." Dark spoke out as she got as she got a small campfire started for her to place the rock on and heat up. The slab slowly heated up, Dark took the opportunity to grab some melted butter in a container and stick it on the slab. It started to melt on the slab and spread across the surface.

"Alright! It's all ready, and I added a few spices~" She held up a feilaid fish pressed and strung up by sticks. She set it down on the slab and let it cook.

"You didn't bring a fucking pan?" Dark snapped up at Nya as the woman gasped.

"First of all, I did. Secondly you could have bring one if you're asking me you little bitch." She snaps back as Dark snapped at her again. The two sisters bantered back and forth until the fish started to crackle on the stone. Nya quickly flipped it over to see it was a little burnt. "Aww man…." She whines and sets back, knocking over her bag a bit to reveal a frying pan.

"Oh yeah, hehe I did." She pulled it out and waved it in Darks face

"Great.." She sighed and looked down a bit. Then I looked back up.

"Did you hear me before? Are we going back up after or are we going to keep exploring?" Dark asked. Nya nods.

"Yeah, you know how long it takes to get back up. Especially with your version of the curse."

"Hey! I'd be a white whistle if I didn't have this!" She looked away and crossed her arms over her chest.

"I'm kidding, Oh! The fish is ready!" She grabbed one of the branches and lifted up the fish, transferring it to the pan they had laying out. She then shoved her hand into her own bag and grabbed out the silverware from earlier.

"Dig in!" Nya clung onto her fork and pressed into the cooked fish. The first bite was a bit crunchy but it didn't stop her from eating her side of the fish. Dark was a bit hesitant at first as she jabbed into the fish with her own fork. The first bite was okay and.. Burnt. Eugh.

They ate for a little while, letting time pass until Nya clapped her hands together and stood up. "Let's head back!" She stood up and threw the stone back where it came and cleaned up her small mess while Dark cleaned up her own.

"If.. You say so." She yanks her backpack over her back and pulls her hood over her head, getting herself ready to walk and climb up the Abyss with her sister.

Hours pass as Nya and Dark take breaks throughout the time being there, making sure the curse doesn't go into effect. It didn't help with all this extra weight on their backs. Maybe the frying pan should have stayed at home.

As they reach the top they both look at each other and high-five.

"To home!" Nya pointed out forward and continued their march back to their home. The sun set over the horizon letting its rays leave Orth for another day until they slept. As they opened up the door to their home Ray appeared behind them and scared them. The women both jumped while Dark quickly turned around to punch Ray in the gut.

"Ough…. I'm home too… guys…." She groaned and pushed past them to walk inside and flopped down on the dinner table.

"We have a couch but you know, sure, lay there." Dark spoke and walked inside, setting down her bag, looking inside it a bit, then at her big sister Ray.

Ray moved up feeling better from the stone punch Dark delivered to her small intestine.

"Oh uh, I'm pretty tired. I might not cook dinner tonight guys, I'm sorry." She gave them all a worry free smile as she headed to her room and laid down. But Dark could see past it unlike Nya. It hurt seeing her sister so overworked just to feed her family.

"Hey- Uh Nya. I'm gonna sell these tonight. Make some extra cash, okay?" She grabbed Nyas bag and rushed out of their house and down those stone steps. She hurried to a store that would be open but everyone was already closing for the evening. Then she remembered, Monix! She could ask her for some cash or at least a trade. She ran through the town, jumping past people, even drifting across the ground before reaching the front steps of her shop. Dark walked in and tossed her bags on the floor.

"Hey, we're closed- Oh it's just you." She creeped out from around the hallway corner to the back where the rest of her real house was.

"Yeah it's me. So I need a favor. Can I sell these here? I just need cash right now." She held up the two bags with her tired arms and dropped them onto the counter.

"I don't have the money right now.. You know I just came back from cave diving." Monix sighed heavily and looked through the bags, pulling out around elven artifacts.

"Hm.. This is new?" She held up a small object which reflected different colors in the light. She grabbed out a book of all the artifacts and flipped through each page.

"I.. don't see anything like this in here, you might have a genuine new artifact on your hand? She handed it back to Dark which she did the same, holding it up to the light, seeing it shimmer and shine.

"Wow, I'll be rich! I think, no.. they'll take it in." She let out a soft sigh and slammed down on the counter.

'A-augh-!" She gripped at her wrist as the small star shaped object dug into her wrist, burying itself into her skin and settling there.

"How come that didn't happen to you!?" She shouted out at Monix who stood there in shock."

"How come it didn't happen to you before!?"

"I wasn't the one who picked it up!?" Dark let out a groan and looked at her wrist again to see the imprint of the star.

"I don't think they'll register this now." She rubbed her other thumb over it softly, it glowed more with each rub, it even tickled a bit and yet there wasn't any pain besides it going in. Monix stared at her wrist for a moment and slowly reached over to touch it, nothing happened. Then she pulled away and just took in her items.

"Here I'll give you cash and trade," She gave her some supplies and cash for her trouble and headed back into her room.

"Just lock the door on your way out." She yawned and waved her hand out the room at her.

"Yeah… can do. Or.." She steps closer to the counter and slowly moves around the side to see her sitting down on her bed.

"You can come with me to find out about this mysterious thing. What if it's telling me to lead it to something… unheard of, something that can't even be graded because it's so amazing." Monix thought about it for a moment and stood up. "Alright- fine.. But you owe me. I'm a blue whistle and you're not even a red." Monix smiled and chuckled a bit.

"It's honestly a bit silly, isn't it? Going into something we have no idea about? What about Moz huh?" She walked over to her dresser and grabbed out a note, putting it in her pocket.

"He's in the pit, remember? We'll meet him halfway. It's fine."

"You know that's crazy right? Fuck it, I'm in, lets find that artifact." Dark smiled at those words and curled up Monixs fist so she could fist bump her.

"I'm staying here for the night, do you care?" Dark asked, already undressing into her inner wear.

"Sure, just don't kick me in your sleep please." Monix pleaded as she stretched and rested in her clothes from earlier.

"You aren't going to change?" Dark asked as she slid into her bed and pushed herself under her own covers.

"Not while you're here." She yawned a bit and pushed her head into her pillow, blowing out her candle as the room only let the moonlight in now. The two slept through the night underneath the covers. Daybreak approaches, Dark was the only one still resting in the bed. Monix was getting her bag ready for the adventure.

"DARK!" Her two sisters yelled at her until she screamed herself awake and snapped her neck to look at them.

"You never came home! You didn't tell us you left!" They whine and squeeze her tightly, bound to pop those white eyes out of her skull.

"Ha, yeah I let them in to do that, now get up, let's go." She grins at her through the doorway and heads back to the room she was in.

"Okay.. I'm coming." Dark spoke out while her sisters whined.
