Inside the cabin, Akg and his team were resting after the intense encounter with Gyarados. The girls were still recovering from the shock, lying quietly in their beds. Akg, however, didn't rest. He chose to let them sleep, knowing that the terrifying experience must have taken a mental toll on them.
While they rested, Akg sat silently in the corner, opening his system interface for the first time since arriving at summer camp. He hadn't had much time to check it before, too busy enjoying the new world and building bonds with his teammates.
Suddenly, a notification rang out in his mind.
Ding!
Congratulations, Master, for completing the quest: "Participate in the Summer Camp."
Reward:
6 Premium Pokéballs
6 God-level Pokémon
1 drop of Storm Dragon God's Blood (Usable only by Pokémon)
Akg stared at the rewards in awe, completely stunned. Then a soft smile formed on his lips.
"I knew it… It's because of you, Mera," he thought, eyes gently drifting toward the sky. "My dear wife, you're always looking out for me… I love you so much. Thank you."
Far away, in the divine realm, Mera—his goddess wife—smiled faintly as she watched him. But her smile carried a hint of jealousy as she murmured under her breath, "You've been getting awfully close with those girls, my dear husband. When you return… we'll have a long talk."
If Akg could hear her thoughts in that moment, he would have probably collapsed to his knees and begged for forgiveness before her divine fury could descend.
Back in the cabin, Akg finished checking the system and finally laid down on his bed with a relaxed sigh. Just as he was starting to enjoy the comfort, a knock echoed through the room.
Akg instantly sat up. Must be a staff member coming to collect the Pokéballs, he realized.
Before opening the door, he swiftly transferred Gyarados into one of the premium balls and stored it in his inventory, making sure not to leave any evidence behind. He didn't want anyone to know yet that he had caught the evolved beast.
Once everything was hidden properly, he opened the door to find a smiling staff member standing there.
"Hello, Akg. Dr. Oak sent me to collect the Pokéballs your team captured today," the staff member said politely.
Akg nodded silently and handed over the Pokéballs containing the Pokémon he and the girls had caught—excluding the Gyarados, of course.
The staff member smiled as he accepted the box. "You really care about your team, huh? Letting them rest while you handle everything. That's nice to see. It's good to be young."
As he turned to leave, he added, "Oh, and don't forget—Dr. Oak will announce today's results tomorrow at 10 AM."
Akg gave a quiet nod, then gently closed the door and let out a soft sigh.
Some time later, the girls slowly woke up from their rest. As their eyes adjusted to the room, they immediately looked toward Akg, who was sitting quietly, as if waiting for them.
Noticing their eager eyes, Akg understood—they wanted to know what really happened earlier.
Without a word, he gently reached for the Pokéball that hung around his neck and released it. A soft light burst out, and Rena appeared.
The moment she emerged, Rena rushed forward and hugged Akg tightly. Akg smiled warmly and gently patted her head, signaling her to calm down and step aside. Then he turned to the girls.
"This is Rena," he said with a calm but serious tone. "My first partner. She's the one who saved us from the Gyarados earlier. I've never shown her to anyone because… I haven't officially received my trainer's license yet. And you all know, if anyone finds out about her, especially the wrong people like Pokémon hunters, we could be in serious danger. That's why I asked you not to say anything back there."
He paused, looking each of them in the eye.
"I told you because I trust you. I believe in all of you."
Hearing this, the girls were moved. Their hearts swelled with gratitude and affection.
"Thank you, Akg… and Rena too," Serena said softly.
Then her eyes sparkled as she looked at Rena. "Wow… she's so cute! I love her. I want a Pokémon like her one day!" she said excitedly, hugging Rena tightly.
Chloe, not wanting to miss out, chimed in, "Hey, that's not fair, Serena! I want to hug her too!"
Korrina laughed and joined in. "Count me in!"
Soon, all three girls were surrounding Rena, hugging her and laughing. Rena, surprisingly, looked quite pleased—letting them pet and cuddle her as she blinked contently.
Akg watched the scene unfold with a peaceful smile. It warmed his heart to see how well they got along with Rena.
"You girls enjoy," he said with a small chuckle. "I'm going to grab some food for everyone. Be right back."
With that, he stepped out toward the cafeteria.
As the door closed behind him, the girls sat quietly for a moment, then looked at each other and burst into light laughter.
"He's really amazing, isn't he?" Chloe whispered.
"Yeah," Serena nodded. "He always thinks about us first."
Korrina smiled. "I'm really glad we met him…"
What they didn't realize was that fate had already intertwined their paths with Akg's—and their journey together was only just beginning.
