Demon Blood, Maiden Veil

The soft croaking of frogs echoed across the rich paddies as the moonlight bathed the quiet village of Qinshui. In a small wooden house at the edge of forest young Lin Yuan just twelve years old, lay curled under a faded quilt. His brath shallow and restless. That night, he dreamed. He stood in a fled of glowing grass. The sky above shimmered like water and petals drifted through the air. A girl , her face veiled in most- stood a few step away reaching out her hand. He felt drawn to her, though he couldn't see her clearly. When their fingers touched, a strange warmth spread through his chest down to his stomach then even lower. His heart pounded. His breath caught. The dream felt too real, too bright. Lin Yuan woke up with a sharp breath. His shirt clung to his back with sweat. Sometimes was wet, sticky, strange. "What... Was that? "he whispered. Heart racing, he looked around the darkened room afraid to move. His finger tugged at his damp sleeping trousers. A sense of fear settled into his stomach. He had never felt like this before. Was he sick? Was something wrong with him? He sat still for long while, staring at the window where the moon peeked through. Finally, gathering his courage he tip toes across the creaky wooden floor to where his mother slept beside the hearth. "Ma.. " He whispered, voice shaky. "Ma, are you awake? " She stirred gently, her tired eyes opening. "Yun'er? What's wrong sweetheart? " He fidgeted with the hem of his sleeve, looking away. "I... had strange dream. And... Something happened down there. I don't know what it mean. " There was a long pause. Then his mother sat up, he face soft with understanding. She reached out and drew him into her arms. "Oh yuan'er",she said with a kind smile. "That's just mean you're growing up. It's normal. "" It is? " he asked quietly. "But it felt so strange... Like something was happening inside me.I am afraid. "" Dreams like that come when a boy's body starts to change". She explained gently. "It's nothing to be ashamed of. Every boy goes through it,even your father. " Lin Yuan blinked up at he still unsure. "I thought I was.... Broken or something".she laughed softly and patted his back." You are not broken. You're just starting a new chapter in your life. One day you will look back and smile at how scared you were "She ruffled his hair and added, " But no matter how much you grow you will be always be my little yuar'er".He gave a tiny smile. "Ok hold my hand you will not be afraid anymore. " Sometimes later "Are you still afraid? "" No ,I am filling better now ." " Now go wash up. It's almost morning. " Lin Yuan stood, filling a little taller, even if nothing had really changed. Outside the first rooster had begun to crow. A new day had arrive and gently, so had a new stage of life.
